Berkley Nanofil
Each to his own. I've been using 10lb Nanofil on two spinning rods since last June and 8lb on another spinning rod this Spring each tied to a monofilament leader. I fish often for smallmouth over rocky points and flats. I can't remember any of the Nanofil breaking. Last night was a typical example. Waited until 7pm to better manage the heat. Fished until 9pm over a boulder covered reef. Used a Lucky Craft Gunfish and Rapala Flat Rap. Boated 2 large white bass, a 25" walleye and ~2 dozen smallies 15" - 17". Same rod and line the entire evening (10lb Nanofil with 10 lb Sensation leader). The leader was pretty beat up at night's end but the NanoFil held up as well or better than Sufix 832 I've used fishing this area in past seasons. With use I've learned to tie effective knots and trust the NanoFil as much as any previous line I've fished. oe

Berkley Nanofil
Berkley also was the seed company that became Pure Fishing which now includes Berkley, Spiderwire, Stren, 7-strand, Abu Garcia, Pfluegar, Fenwick (and possibly Penn). Not a bad organization, wouldn't you say? oe

What Plastics Would You Use On This? Spider Pro Head
Match your plastic with the correct hook size. Both the classic spider head and pro spider head come with either 2/0 hooks or 3/0 hooks... know the difference. I prefer the classic jigs over the pro jigs... better hooking for me. oe

Besides Worms, What Have You Put On A Slider Head?
Grubs, tubes and worms are my standards... remember there are 2/0 hooks and 3/0 hooks with the same heads. Becoming a "Master" is to master the technique... bait style is just equipment. oe (Chris... use your creativity)

Your Thoughts On Fishing Scents? Effective Or Myth?
John... I accept the sensory similarities between a bluegill and bass, however, I've taken many, many more bluegill under a bobber allowing the gill to sample my bait than chasing down a swimming offering. On the other hand I've brought more smallmouth and largemouth to hand offering a bait with more movement than would allow for much "tasting" before a whole hearted commitment to consume. Put differently... I believe a bass reacts to profile and motion (visual cues) more strongly than taste. oe

Your Thoughts On Fishing Scents? Effective Or Myth?
I believe scented baits will improve catch rates for bluegill, walleye, catfish and trout, but my bass fishing hasn't increased catch rates with scented baits. oe

Beetle Bug
I don't like the "clip-on" frame of the beetle spins. As Crestliner, I prefer a crappie sized spinnerbait. They will catch above average sized smallies on occasion. oe

What's Everyone Using To Organize Your Soft Plastics?
A few sandwich size resealable plastic baggies with various like-colored plastic baits inside. ie... dark colored grubs (variety of sizes), light colored grubs and flukes, clear grubs, dark worms and dark tubes. Throw them in a side pocket of a small tackle bag and that about covers it. oe

Trilene Sensation
... nor did I. oe

Trilene Sensation
I'm skeptical it's that simple. I use 10lb test clear Sensation along with 6lb & 10lb Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon as leaders. The Sensation floats, is very nearly as thin as the 6lb fluorocarbon and easily as strong as the 10lb fluoro. I use it when fishing top water lures and hard jerkbaits. I don't like any monofilament as a mainline, but as a leader it works well for me. oe

Scent Or No Scent
Both Megastrike and Berkley Bass Scent do an admirable job of lubricating Texas rigged hooks and jigs at the bend allowing them to slip through the plastic more easily on my hook set. oe

6Lb Sufix 832
Brian... I look forward to your review of the 6lb 832. I prefer my spinning gear braid to have considerably more "body" to it and am disappointed when the line "breaks in" too limply. A stiffer braid causes fewer tip wraps, often casts farther and behaves better on the spinning spool for me. As noted above, line visibility is important to me and I've been a fan of flame green Fireline for years and recently the lime green 832. Diameters less than those of 10lb braided line have been difficult for me to see. What have your observations been concerning NanoFil as it's broken in for you? I've noted as the line coating has worn with use that knots have held better but casting distance has lessened. oe

hmmm.... somewhere in this thread there may actually be a discussion comparing 6lb Sufix 832 to 10lb Sufix 832. oe
