  1. Does this extrapolate into fire tiger always being the most effective color? oe
  2. Welcome... I'm glad to have someone from "home" on-board. oe
  3. Using spinning gear with presentations that require throwing slack into the line (walking and popping) can yield loose coils on the spool and result in some extreme line problems. I'd suggest a lighter action baitcasting set-up. oe

  5. Does your state specifically exempt a skin mount from your posession limit? oe
  6. I'm looking for opinions... Berkley Sensation used as a leader material for fishing top water and suspending jerkbait applications. oe
  7. If your intentions were to release your catch... file the barbs away. Less damage and stress. oe
  8. tmeir... I think your expectations of a "sinking" braid may not be realistic. I fish a couple of reels with Sufix 832 and I think it is very good line, but it doesn't "sink" like a rock. The current of a stream is going to negate that characteristic of the line. I encourage you to be concerned with casting and handling characteristics of a braided line. Cabelas currently has 6lb test lime green 832 discounted on-line. oe
  9. John G... gotta love the way you think! oe
  10. To "The Next KVD"... have you actually fished the fluorobraid line? oe
  11. If you're in danger of breaking a spinning reel frame (of any commonly used material), loosen your drag. The rigidity of aluminum is important but not to the extent of it reaching a breaking strain. oe

  13. I hope everyone reads down to post #11 after the black eye you issued to the Lews reel company. oe
  14. You give up durability to lighten the reel that much... For my money the STX is a more durable reel and the Revo flagship. oe
  15. Through my business I have access to zip-top plastic bags that measure approximately 2"x4". These bags work well to individually bag each hair/feather jig I tie and then they store nicely in Plano boxes with my various jig heads. I would guess that an empty soft plastics bag would store several hair jigs with minimal hair damage. oe
  16. most likely, the "rigging" rod has a softer, more parabolic action than the "jigging" rod. oe
  17. Monofilaments = Trilene PE lines = double Palomar joining monofilament leaders to PE main lines = Alberto aka... modified Albright
  18. There is a GREAT article about fishing hair jigs currently on the front page. It was written by Iaconelli and is full of straight talk on the subject. Anyone who fishes these diminutive baits should read, save and re-read this article. oe
  19. More water carries small to average sized smallmouth than "pigs". Small spinners will catch more smallmouth in these waters, as well as bonus walleye and panfish. oe
  20. SOB lures... Mini-Me series oe
