Rapala Dives-To Series
Can't find much inventory in stores of the Rapala Dives-to series and when I do I'm finding them at sale prices. Can someone confirm this crankbait will be available in future seasons? Thanks oe

What Knot Do You Use For Tying On A Flouro Leader?
I prefer the Alberto knot using 5 wraps up and 5 wraps down when joining fluoro to braid. When I used a double Uni knot I found that if I didn't severely tighten the knots until AFTER I had slid them together less line breakage would occur. oe

Float Tube Mods???
Diver, Are you new to float tube fishing or have done this awhile? What type of fishing are you most comfortable doing and what types/size of waters do you fish? oe

Float Tube Mods???
Over on bigfishtackle.com is a float tube forum whose members like to mod their float tubes. I prefer to keep my wading and float tube fishing pretty basic. What tube do you fish from and what mods are you looking to do? oe

Rod Grip Question
I found a bare rod did not provide a comfortable and secure grip for my fishing. I prefer an elongated hour-glass shape that leaves the grip completely covered by at least a thin layer of cork. I shape my grips with a fine file and sandpaper. This is not as radical of an alteration but it may provide you with a better alternative to improve the comfort of your rod grips. I also prefer to wrap my index finger around the bare blank of a spinning rod. I remove all but 3/4" of the cork foregrip to accomplish this. I usually choose spinning rods that have the tightening threads on the back side of the handle. oe

Kayaks
The Coosa is self bailing while the Commander has no scupper holes... am I correct? If I'm correct in my observations there is a bigger difference than simply how they track. The low freeboard of the Commander will invite plenty of water to wash/spray inside. A lighter solo canoe might also be a valuable consideration. oe

Braided Line With Flouro/mono Leader

Float Tubes?
Yes. Waders are no more necessary on a float tube than they would be wading the same water. You will need a good pair of diving flippers if you are floating still waters AND A LIFE VEST. Have a short handled net and don't attempt many hand landings as sharp dorsal spines and hooks can puncture a float tube. WEAR THE LIFE VEST! enjoy oe

Braided Line With Flouro/mono Leader
A murky, weedy lake... I would not be using a leader at all. oe

Reels
For the purpose and the price range you've given us, I hope that you might already have a baitcasting reel of some description and you would be able to put your entire budget into the rod. oe

What Do You Consider Gimmicky Lures/baits?
What do I consider a gimmicky lure?... ... any lure other than a soft rubber grub/jighead or a hard plastic suspending jerkbait. It's good that I'm not set in my ways! oe

First Review - Nanofil
NanoFil is VERY difficult to tie knots that don't slip! I've chosen to use a fluoro leader when fishing with NanoFil so I can avoid the terminal knot problem while on the water. I've been using a 5 wrap up and 5 wrap down Alberto knot basted with super glue for a leader knot. I've read of people tying the Alberto knot with the up wraps and down wraps adjacent to each other on the leader... I tie the knot with the down wraps over-lapping the up wraps. The glue adds additional security. I can tie a 6' leader before I leave for the lake and not have to deal with tying any knots with the NanoFil while on the water. oe

Rage Tail Grub!!!!!
I've experienced that to get much action from a tail swimming it very slowly with a very light jig head you need to have a VERY thin tail. The Rage Tail baits don't appear (from pics) to have a thin tail... in fact they appear to be quite thick along the trailing edge of their tails. Do they have the action you talk about when used with a 3/32oz jig head and pulled very slowly through the water? oe

New Powerpro Super Slick....finally
Try a spool of the new NanoFil. I was impressed by how many slack line bites I could feel. oe

New Powerpro Super Slick....finally
Grey Wolf, Most (if not all) of the major players in the braid game have had 8 carrier lines out for several years now... and the coating is a step behind several of their competitors as well... not to mention the price isn't better than what's out there right now either. Just not anything in that offering that I'm not already fishing with Sufix 832, NanoFil and Spider Wire Ultra-Cast. If your looking for this new PP to be bringing something new to the market... I don't think so. Your mileage may vary. oe

New Powerpro Super Slick....finally
Surface tension is enough to keep 832 floating... after the surface tension is broken 832 will slo.o.o.w..w..l...y sink. Similar diameter fluoro sank for me 2 - 3 times faster. I have liked fishing thin 832 (10lb & 20lb) with a fluoro leader. oe
