  1. Now you mention it, I caught 6 bass the other day, 3 using a crawfish colored crank, and 3 using a shad colored crank, the 3 on the crawfish color all were actually eating a crawl when i caught them
  2. I've been fishing alot for the past two months and here in like the last 2 weeks its hard to get a bite, I've pitched jigs under trees into brush up to the bank, ran square bills all through the lakes and tried t rigged worms and topwater baits, so my question is, what the heck are these fish doing? are they deep or just not feeding as much since its getting really hot
  3. Hey guys, I've been using a kvd swim jig w/ a rage craw (4 in.) and haven't been getting alot of strikes, a bunch of fish seem to bump it but not take it, I was wondering if yall could help me fix my retrieves or just give me some ideas
  4. Try to make your jig look more like a baitfish, I'm not saying there aren't times where it's better off looking like a crawfish, but use a swimbait as a trailer and swim it sometimes and just see what happens
  5. Shoot it's a thrill just for me to plan my trip every time before I go while I'm riggin my pole and thinkin of where the fish are and what they'll be eating and then getting there and catchin a big ole hawg, all around bass fishing is the best hobbie anyone can have
  6. My biggest bass of my life came on a Strike King Rage Tail Smokin' Rooster texas rigged, purple flake
  7. Try a spinnerbait, a square bill crankbait, and a Jig
  8. Man, I was the same way with jigs I didn't really know alot about em, didn't really know how to fish em and I didn't have confidence in one, but I fished a cold front with a jig the first time I ever used one..a denny brauer flippin jig by strike king with a big bite baits yo momma as my trailer and caught 15 bass, granted they all weren't big but I gained confidence with a jig and keep in mind this was only 2 weeks ago, all I did was casted to the shore or flipped it around trees, I'd swim it and let it fall give it a few jerks and reel slack line, most of the bites off the shore were right as the weedline dropped off or as soon as it hit the water, don't just yank when you feel a fish, its like using a soft plastic let it, tick, tick, reel down and then set the hook
  9. Thanks everybody, I will try a topwater and go to a jig along the weed line I catch most out of the place I fish that way
  10. Okay guys I'm needin some help, we've recently got our first rain in a long time and it brought a cold front with it but the day I'm plannin on fishin it'll be about 80 come midday so, I'm wondering..Start off with a jig in the early mornin and as the day progesses switch to maybe a crankbait or flip heavy cover with a jig or creature????
  11. I'm curious to understand jigs, I've never used one, they're in my tackle box I just seem to always say hmm, texas rig or spinnerbait over them, I've seen and heard, Jigs are pretty deadly but I'm really not sure how to fish with them or anything? So I was just hopin to get some pointers of how everybody else catches fish on jigs
  12. fish the points and other things could effect the bass growing like shad or bluegill if the bass don't eat alot they won't be very big, try a crawl like a zoom super speed crawl or a chigger crawl by berkley (use the 4 inch for a texas rig 3 inch for a jig trailer) or even try a crawdad colored shallow crankbait or a orange and black spinnerbait or jig, when the water warms up try to go to a brighter color like green or white and if you don't get many bites go back to the more natural colors
  13. it's going to be about 90 and has been at least 80 for the past week and a half so the water is warm, so buzzbait should work and I absolutely love lipless cranks! thanks
  14. Call me crazy I don't care lol every time before I go fishing I watch a fishing show and watch the pros tear em up so I have confidence fishing, then go and catch em and if they're not biting whatever I'm using I switch to an old classic bait, like spinnerbait, rattl traps (lipless crankbaits) or a texas rig worm and then if that doesn't work then hey I enjoyed fishing. Don't forget that fishing is FUN trust me time and time I've tried beatin myself up over havin a bad day and then I tell myself "Hey even Kevin Van Dam has bad days" so just have fun with it
  15. Frog, Buzzbait if the water's warm enough like where I'm at I've been fishin topwater since March and caught a lot like that and if it's too cold try waking a spinnerbait or jig or texas rig a craw and wake it along the edges and stop every now and then and let it fall
