  1. Show up at his house and politely explain your situation, then ask him to accompany you to his shop to retrieve your property immediately. If he doesn't respond to your polite visit, dial the sheriff's office while you're standing on his front porch.
  2. Socc, I've been looking for tickets to the first game against Dallas so I could take my dad for his birthday, but I'm not having much luck finding anything affordable. Any suggestions?
  3. Seems like there is a lot of advice and differing opinions so you have a lot to think about. I'll simply add this: If you use a card you must be disciplined and mature. I was not and got into trouble. It took years to fix. I quote Speedbead because I personally think Dave Ramsey has a lot of good things to say. I would suggest you read his books and check out his TV show on FBN before you make your decision. Even if you chose to go the credit card route, I would still suggest you read Ramsey's books.[/quote] But be prepared to write a check, because the last I knew, he didn't accept c/card orders! That's right. Dave practices what he preaches. He will accept a debit card, but no credit cards. My dad has followed Dave's principles for years, and thankfully passed what he learned on to me. I've never had a student loan, car loan, house loan, or a personal loan of any kind. I graduated from a four year university, put my wife through grad school, drive a decent (used) truck, and have roof over my head and food on my table. We're not rich. We don't have 6-digit incomes (they're not even 6-digits combined ;D). But, we have financial peace and we've got it without debt! Like fishinbuds, we didn't buy into the "you've got to have a credit card so you can get into more debt later" philosophy. Hookem, I'm so thankful that someone taught me Dave's financial principles (which are really just Biblical principles) that I'd love to send you one of his books for free. PM me your address and I'll get it in the mail!
  4. If you plan on paying off the balance at the end of each month (which you sound like you would do) why don't you just use a debit card linked directly to your checking account? But, if you are going to get one anyway, I'd suggest a Schawb card. You earn 2% on every purchase.
  5. When is a dink no longer considered a dink? As soon as it is released and your fishing buddy can't make you weigh him to PROVE he isn't a 5 pounder.
  6. So, what's the big deal? If you don't want to pay the extra $12.95, keep writing a check every month. Writing a check isn't that big of an inconvenience. In fact, you could have probably wrote several rent checks during the time you've invested in this thread. ;D
  7. 17 and 14? Children corrupting children. Children corrupting babies.
  8. I didn't know he wasn't a mod anymore. Hope he'll still check in from time to time.
  9. My wife loves reading her cookbooks and magazines, so when we were in Savannah a couple of years ago I took her to the restaurant. We walked in, looked at the little buffet, and were totally unimpressed. There was fried chicken, a few vegetables, and a peach cobbler. I told my wife that the entire buffet was no bigger than our kitchen table and that the food looked the same both places. She agreed, and said that there was no need in paying $15 a head for food that she could cook at home. So, we left Paula Deen's restaurant and picked up a pizza for supper!
  10. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Hookem was using a little sarcasm.
  11. What a coward. But, he'll probably be a coward with rings. ;D
  12. Great news!
  13. What is a Thermacell? And where can we get them? Google it.
  14. Way to go Mr. Burley!
  15. BASS and FLW are two different bass fishing tournament organizations. BASS has several regular season events known as the "Elite Series." Then, they have a championship called the "Bassmaster Classic." FLW has several regular season events and a championship as well. The anglers on both tours are amazing. As far as sponsorships go, the individual anglers are sponsored by a lot of the same people (Triton boats and Mercury outboards for example). But, BASS and FLW have different sponsors for their tours. If you want to find out more go to bassmaster.com and flwoutdoors.com.
  16. They're still showing up on mine too, I was just wondering how they all got broke by such a high margin.
  17. I just noticed that all of the "Most users ever on line" type statistics were obliterated a few weeks ago. Did the usership of this site just skyrocket over the past few weeks, or was the way users/members are counted change in some way? :-? Inquiring minds want to know.
  18. 10-22
  19. This is, quite possibly, the most accurate statement in this thread. Hey Redline, you alright? You typically post great videos. Oh well, everybody has an off day now and then. ;D
  20. Mainly squirrel, but a little deer as well.
  21. Hey Earl, you yankin' our chain? :-/
