Fishing Rod Or Pole
We use the terms interchangeably, but most often call it a rod. A fishing pole is a cane pole.

Best Compound Bow And Sights?
That's about like asking what the best rod and reel are to go bass fishing. There are a few opinions to be had. Find a local pro shop and let them guide you in your decision.

Walmart?
I shop at Wal-Mart. It employs a bunch of people in our community, sells about anything I need to buy, and prices their merchandise reasonably. It's VERY reasonable when you can get a gift card like that!

2014-15 Season Kills/pics
Bagged number six this morning. A five pointer with his nose to the ground on my estrus drag line. I had a mid morning meeting and could only hunt until 8:00. He came out at 7:59!

Question For Waterfowl Hunters- Boat Fishing Impact Waterfowl Hunting ?
One reason the ducks aren't there as thick as they will be later in the season is that it's still early. When it gets colder the migration will pick up. And, if you're ever fishing on a body of water I'm duck hunting, do me a favor and ride through where they ducks landed so maybe a few will be pushed into my spread! (Just kidding, that's illegal.)

Ebola: Hype Or Legitimate Threat?
Before Ebola it was H1N1, bird flu, swine flu, and a host of other things that were going to wipe us out. So, is Ebola the real deal? If so, what precautions are you and your family taking? It's funny, I never thought much about this stuff before, but I've got two little girls at home and some days I just want to build a big fence around our property and live in seclusion. I know that's not the answer, but a little overreaction is good for the soul every once in a while!

Restocking The Freeze!
Every year, about this time, we run out of meat. My wife had to go to the store and buy some last week (something we rarely do). But, this morning my hunting buddy and I beat down four geese. Then, this afternoon I killed a couple of deer with the old black powder. We're eating meat tomorrow!

Got A Meat Grinder...
Yeah, that little attachment is fine for making a few lbs. but if you're going to crank out a lot at one time it's much easier and efficient to grind all of your meat, mix the appropriate spices, then use a press/stuffer to pack the casings.

Got A Meat Grinder...
I bought a meat grinder several years ago to help with processing our deer. Since then, ever year we have grinded 50 lbs. of deer sausage (half links/half patties) and 50 lbs. of deer burger. Then, this past year, we started raising and butchering hogs. We made a little over 50 lbs. of pork sausage in the Spring. Well, out of the 150 lbs. of meat that has run through my grinder in the past year, I'm down to one pack of pork sausage, and it'll be consumed after Church today. A grinder is a great investment. The year before I bought mine for $100 at Lowe's, I took a couple of deer to a local processing plant and paid about $120 for them to grind it for me. Two pieces of advice that we've learned the hard way: 1. If you're going to be doing a lot of link sausage (and, you should!), you'll need a sausage press. It makes life a LOT easier. 2. Buy natural casings. I bit the bullet and paid about $25 for enough casings to last me several years. But, you can separate it into what you think you might use at one time, and freeze it in little bunches. Good luck, and good grinding!

Competitor Dies- Ontrack Incident W/ Tony Stewart
I watched the video several times, and it appears to me that Tony gunned his engine, and broke his car sideways to "intimidate" his competitor. He probably didn't mean to hit him, and certainly didn't mean to kill him. But, if Tony would have done the right thing, and avoided the man walking on the track, the man would still be alive.

Why Can't I Grow Anything But Tomatos?
You could be drowning your plants. What kind of soil do you have (sandy, rich, clay, etc)? Do you have good drainage?

Why Can't I Grow Anything But Tomatos?
If it's just a small garden miracle grow the mess out of it at least once a week.
