  1. Or much to look at. :-X They're usually going by so fast that isn't a problem. Definitely an acquired taste and one that's way beyond my pocketbook but I'd love to drive one for a day. As for fishing out of them? I can think of many boats that are laid out better.
  2. Yep, easily $45k and up. Made in Richland Missouri. The companies been around since the Mid-70's. My first new boat in 1977 was a Charger. The only problem with a Charger, if you want to call it that, is they're a heavier boat and will require some HP to push them along. You could probably stick a 225 on a 596 and be alright, a 250 would be a better choice, go with a 200 to cut costs and you'll probably have holeshot issues. That's what pushes the price up. One of the best rough water boats out there, also one of the slowest due to the weight.
  3. I've often had to fill a short crappie limit with a bass or two for a fish fry. Bass have a slightly gamier taste than crappie. You can pretty much tell that just by filleting them. The Crappie have a whiter flesh, the LM, sorta grey. All in all, there's far better tasting fish that come out of saltwater than anything from freshwater.
  4. They aren't cheap.
  5. I've been a Stren person for a long time. I've tried XT in the 12lb test the past few years and really like it. I decided to jump to a spool of XT 14lb. I'm not real happy with it. Just the 2lb test jump and the 14lb is relatively stiff and gets coily on the spool. You've really got to keep the thumb trained on the spool to prevent backlash.
  6. LOL. It's not very often I hear any race driver take the blame for any wreck they're involved in, I don't care what the racing series. As for Gordon, great racecar driver. He's kinda let the celebrity end of it affect his driving the past few years. He was most impressive in that trading spaces racecar deal at Indy where he took Montoya's F1 Williams and ran some extremely impressive lap times.
  7. Yea the carriers get to step on, drop and mutilate the tubes as much as they can for EMPLOYEE FUN DAYS Jousting matches. Rod tube jugglng Javelin throw. ;D
  8. Hang an anchor in the water off the front bow eye on about 2-3 ft or rope. It'll pull the front of the boat down a little and the weight will make the front end a little less likely to blow around as fast if the wind picks up.
  9. Go spend a few bucks and pick up some Eagle Claw lazer sharp 5/0's. I think you can get a packet of 5 at Wally world for around $3 - 4. You'll miss too many fish when the worm balls up on the bend of the hook and doesn't allow good penetration with those 3/0's.
  10. Wait for the new bumper stickers 8 - 3 = 5 ;D
  11. ;D I love those cell phone bass photo's. Blurry, dark and you can make out 2 eyes, one human and the other not. ;D
  12. What does he bring? When you think of the millions in Swag his fans will have to cough up when he changes from the 8 to the 5 you'll quickly realize just what he brings to the table. As for driving skill? I saw Jr. last night in an interview, he said if he doesn't start winning now he'll be known as the son not as good as his dad. BTW, will Jr. fans still throw beercans at his new teammate?
  13. After seeing some recent posts, it should also add the following: "Contents in box are not guaranteed to be brand new and unused."
  14. Well put! Their mono line is decent, but Vanish is crap. The various soft plastics are good, but I don't like the Frenzy hardbaits. I haven't used any of their rods, but the ones I've seen seem kinda cheap. I also agree. Hit and miss.
  15. Didn't he just take over recently?? I'm looking for a used boat not a new one, around 00', 01', 02' etc... When did this guy take over??? That "guy" is Johnny Morris. The company is Tracker Marine group. They also purchased Mako and SeaCraft SW boats along with Kenner. Procraft was purchased from Brunswick (Mercury Marine) sometime in the late 90's to the early 00's.
  16. Canoes can be car-topped. There's also inflatable rafts as well. Pretty sure you can get a kayak on a cartop too.
  17. After plenty of beer, I can't really think of anything.... Oh maybe some pens and paper if the budget allows it after the beer.
  18. They're a subsidiary of Tracker Marine. Take that for what it's worth. Not sure if they're still built in Tennessee or not. Bill Dance has been on their ProStaff for years, Grigsby was as well. I don't really know much else.
  19. BTW, what is your definition of a bassboat? Most Fish n ski's are set up to seat 4 people though they lack the deck room to comfortably fish that many. If you're talking a regular bassboat and 2 of the 4 people are children, a few of the BB's out there have wide enough bench seats that 2 relatively fit adults and 2 kids could fit in them 4 across.
  20. Regarding the Allison, as the saying goes, "if you have to ask............" Really, over double on your high end.
  21. Hmm.. I've never taken the time to GPS my TM. I'll have to do that this weekend.
  22. As has been explained to me, rods in tubes are handled differently from regular packages by the shippers. They can't go down the usual conveyor belts and must be hand carried because of their length. Hence the difference in delivery times.
  23. Careful with that thing. Plastic left to the elements can and does deteriorate to the point where it could cause a problem when loaded and under stress.
  24. I use the rubber Orings for my mine. Then a weedless style hook in 1/0 - 3/0. You'll find the worms last longer than one per fish.
