Bass Pro Shops Crankin' Stick on sale
I have 3 Crankin sticks. A really great rod for the purpose. At that price they're a steal.

will BPS inspect a reel before they ship
Take it out of the box, spool on some line, put it on a rod and then make some practice casts to test all the functions? ;D Yeah, right.

NEED LEGAL INFO!
Here's where I see the problem. There are creel limits which are daily limits set when you're on the water fishing and possession limits. Possession limits are the total number of said fish you have in your possession, whether on the boat or in your freezer. In this case, these guys have already surpassed the states possesion limit and the possesion limit doesn't differentiate between where you caught the fish. Since there's no way of knowing exactly WHERE all those fish were caught, private lake or not, you must include them in the individual fishermans overall possession, which it appears, surpasses the total. I won't get into the disgusting display of meat shots, especially those, but there are better tasting and easier fish to catch than a bass.

Baitcasting Reels A CHANGE OF HEART
I recently read an independant reel review site that said current BPS reels are made by Silstar/Pinnacle.

Baitcasting Reels A CHANGE OF HEART
Back in the olden days, I purchased one of BPS's first badged LP reels in the mid 80's. It was made by Quick, I felt assured it would probably be a good reel. The first reel was bad out of the box, BPS sent another. I failed on the first trip. I said the heck with it and spent $25 extra dollars and bought a 2nd Garcia Ultra Mag XL plus ($75, big bucks in those days for a reel) I swore off BPS reels for good even though I still had many of their rods which I still think are good for the $$. The past few years I've re-explored BPS reels. I've had no problems with them and for the money, can't be beat. Thinking about the baitcasting marketplace, it seems kinda silly to me to purchase a very expensive reel ($200 +) with the mindset and justification that this is going to be a reel I'll have for many years to come. Technology comes and goes. Todays uber expensive reel will cost half that much in the future when the technology becomes cheaper to produce, by then something better will come along to replace it. I can see a typical BPS reel lasting at least 5 years, by that 5th year, something better will come along. With you're front end investment so low, it's easier and cheaper to replace a lower end reel, especially when you like to take a lot of rods and reels along like I do.

Tow Vehicle
I pull a 18 1/2 foot Champion boat with a F-150 4.2 V6. This is my second Ford in 10 years with that V6 motor. No problems. I'd go with a Reese or Hidden Hitch. You can get one at Walmart for around $100 - 120. Gas mileage wise, I get around 19mpg hwy with no boat, automatic transmission. With the boat it drops to around 12mpg.

X-rap sub walk
This is my first season using the Xraps and I'm a believer. I've found the best retrieves to be cranking the bait down and then working it back just like in the video. Incredible action.

Busch Wildlife (St. Louis)
How do you really feel spinhead? ;D I haven't fished BW in years. The last time was as an adult advisor when my sons gradeschool went out there a number of years ago on a day long fishing outing. The kids caught tons of bluegill and greenies. I basically unhooked fish and baited hooks for the girls. It wouldn't surprise me that most of those lakes have some decent sized but hard to catch LM in them. It would also be nice if they went back to a pay system and make the entrance fee enough to keep the riff raff out. Make the lakes catch and release or at least have some of them designated as trophy lakes.

Yikes! Is this trouble you're having at a dealer level or is this the factories response?

Close encounters of the scary kind
I don't know about swimming in a lake with gators..... If I lived or fished down there or anywhere that had gators I'd adhere to an old adage the saltwater fishing boys taught me "Once you're in the water over knee deep, you become part of the food chain."

NHRA Drag Races ..... Who's been??? My first
I used to be into drags during the late 70's and into the 80's. Guys like Prudhomme, Big Daddy, Kalitta, Sox and Martin and of course, Shirley Muldowney. Great stuff, the races are over waaay too quick for me though. No kidding about Danica who? Forces daughters are beauty's.

Boat Coloring - Effect on Bass
I really doubt that the color of a boat hull will make any difference in the numbers of fish caught. OTOH, running a TM too much, especially bumping it on and off in high speed, banging compartment lids closed or banging around in the boat or bumping your boat into cover will have a direct impact on the fish.

How to mount a trolling on this boat
Uhhh, a picture of the boat would be nice.

The Lure Matrix
Let's face it, if there actually was a program or device that you could input all the specific data for a lake you were fishing and it spit out specific locations, lures, colors, presentations, etc. and it worked... fishing wouldn't be anywhere near as fun and there'd be no reason for this site to even exist.

Keep posting pics of her.... whether she caught a fish or not.

Cobra Bench Seat
It's likely, as old as the boat is, that the manufacturer doesn't have a replacement.

The Lure Matrix
How did you determine fish location in order to use the device?

New Texas Bull Shark Record
Caught out of a 17' Kenner Skiff boat! Yikes, the fish weighed almost as much as the boat!

How to fund your first boat?
Thats a very good point. I'll be fishing Kentucky Lake, it's a decently sized area ;D LOL, talk about coincidence. That's the VERY lake that convinced me I had to go bigger. I was fishing a club tournament out of Kenlake marina. I was leading after day 1, overnight a front came through and the wind began blowing. I had never seen water stir up that bad. We were able to get only a mile down from the marina and the ride was brutal. My good water was on the other side of the lake and it was out of the question to try that crossing. Wound up in 2nd. The trip back to the marina was the scariest I've ever had. It felt like I was riding a surfboard in that little boat. We stringered our rods, reels and tackle to the boat in case we went down. We figured if we sank and the boat was recovered later at least our tackle would still be attached.

Have you ever dropped an anchor....
I know what happens when you drop an anchor into water deeper than the length of anchor rope you've got tied on. ;D

Abu garcia
Good to see Garcia is covering the entire price spectrum with these new reels. I'm hoping they come out with a few of these or the Revo's in a 4.7 or 5.0 gear ratio for crankbaits.
