  1. Rat-L-Traps are not a cold weather bait. They're a warmer water, reaction bait. It's also a bait that has never worked really great on that lake even when the water temps were warmer. During the jerkbait bite, clown color works well as does chrome blue back or black back. LOZ has always been something of a predominately "green" lake as far as color. That's not set in stone though.
  2. Sounds like you've got certain websites blocked, like photobucket or some of the other photo sites folks use to link pictures. I can't see pictures at work because the DNS server has those sites blocked. I imagine your school does, perhaps your parents have also blocked those sites from showing on your computer.
  3. I had a similar experience with a guy many years ago fishing a bass club T. Just about everything on that boat that could break did. To make matters worse, on the way home he blew out a trailer tire and had no spare and we were in the middle of nowhere. I sat with the boat while he drove 25 miles up the road to get the tire fixed. LOL. Just another experience in life to look back on and laugh at. ;D
  4. Henry's 663 adhesive is what you're looking for for the flat surfaces. It's available at Lowes or HD. When you get to the corners and edges, you'll want to go to contact cement. I went with Weldwood available at Walmart, Lowes or HD.
  5. How do you know about The BOO??? ;D That used to be one of my frequent honey holes but ya go broke faster than buying tackle. : A guy I used to work with inherited a trailer in a park down in Bradenton from an uncle of his that died and promptly moved down there. He used to DJ in bars and happened to mention that place once in an email. Of course, he had never been in the place mind you. ;D
  6. I think another member here, Koopa? maybe, showed the schedule and the tournament date is in the latter part of march. Depending on how the winter goes, water temps that time of year are typically in the mid to upper 40's. Sometimes bumping 50. Typically it's a jerkbait pattern going on that time of year as there is normally a shad die off. Another bait to think about is chomper type spider grubs or a regular 3-4" grub fished on a jig head. You'll probably want to check in closer to the tournament date to get a little more accurate idea of the actual pattern but those are pretty strong lure choices for that lake. LOZ has no natural cover in it but it does have thousands of boat docks (literally). Those don't really come into play as much in the early pre-spawn as they do as the spawn progresses. Also think line in the 8-10lb test category, flourocarbon or clear.
  7. That's exactly what I use to say about the MK power drive TM I had for around 6-7 years.
  8. Did you have this motor checked out by a mechanic before you purchased it?
  9. The honor is all yours if you want it.
  10. You're really not supposed to run any OB, especially a V6 on the muffs long enough for the water to start getting really hot which it will if that's what you're doing. There's a big difference in the amount of water moving through the engine between an engine submerged in water vs having muffs on it. If you run that engine long enough that way, the overheat alarm will eventually kick in. I know that happens on my Yammie or any V6 I've ever owned.
  11. 2 1/2 minutes of the same repetitive guitar riff over and over followed by some guy moaning and crying in his cornflakes. You call that a song?
  12. It takes a lot of practice. As already stated, start with a heavier lure and crank up the spool control and mag brake if you have one. The cent. brake doesn't really come into play with skipping. As you get better, start backing off the mag brake and then the spool tension and then switch to a lighter lure. It takes time.
  13. It looks like a Revo S with graphite end plates and 1 less bearing. Odd that it weighs as much as it does given the graphite end plates. The pitch control centrifugal brake sounds like a pretty good deal.
  14. In your opinion of course, right? BTW, there are many BPS brand, Revo and Pflueger users that know better.
  15. Judging from how blurry that photo is, I'd say you took it as you stumbled out of the Peek-a-Boo lounge in Bradenton.
  16. A couple of those truck tailgate ramps and you'll have that windshield cleaned in a jiff.
  17. I guess I need to buy up a bunch of cans of spray paint, paint the boat pink, get one of my wife's feathered boas from years past, wear a pair of pink spandex, and run a rainbow flag instead of a tournament flag. I bet they will steer clear then. LOL. Sounds like you're onto something Jack. They'll forget all about Ike if you show up like that. Heck, you might even get onto ESPN in that get up. Maybe even a NEW wrapped Skeeter with Maybelline as your sponsor!!
  18. Contributing to the delinquency of a minor eh Mike? Keep the boy away from the box.
  19. Oh sure, you wrapped boat guys must think you're special. I guess it's only us non-wrapped guys that deserve to have the idiot boaters nearly run over us while we're fishing or follow us around and waypoint all of our good spots because they're too incompetent to find their own. ;D
  20. I don't know about best I think I'd put Jennifer Aniston up there as one of God's best Creatations.
  21. Save your money, take pictures and post them on the board here and we'll take a shot at guessing the weight. We're normally within 3-4lbs, + or - .
