  1. Questions do you currently have an old style SX reel? If you do, can you remove the spool and palm plate from the new version and install it into the old version and does it work? That question was asked at another forum in regards to converting an old STX to the new dual braking. I'm thinking the spool and palm plates would both have to be changed and it still might not work.

  3. thanks for the info on Garmin Rolo. I've just gotten into GPS myself this year and the interface between the computer at home and the GPS via mapcreate is the weak link, IMO of the navionics stuff. Their paranoia of piracy cripples the whole deal. I'm surprised Garmin isn't making a bigger deal of that deficiency in their advertising. What you're saying you can do with the Garmin mapping software is w-a-y more user friendly than Navionics.
  4. Very nice smallie! 8-)
  5. A lot depends on how much quality of components is important to you and how long you'd like it to last. you could probably do the whole thing with cheapie wood, cheapie hardware and cheapie carpet, etc for around $200. More realistically, $400.
  6. While I haven't seen the reel, I'm sure the dual brake is the same as on a regular Patriarch. I've seen them on Ebay selling for $225.
  7. If you look at the entire Genmar line I suspect that any purchaser would be shedding more than just one brand. There's a lot of overlap of brands whether bass boats, pleasure boats or ski boats. They've got too many boat companies competing against themselves vs the competing against the rest of the market.
  8. thurd grayd. Isn't that a West Virginians senior year?
  9. Often, when seawalls are built, extra rock dug out from the footings is deposited into the lake in front of the walls providing cover for baitfish and crayfish. Thus, it's a reliable place for bass to venture to to find food. Seawalls are also often placed in front of residences to eliminate erosion. They provide a handy place to fish from and those residents often plant submerged brushpiles to attract fish.
  10. Could you post the sellers ID? I'd be curious to see his previous feedback.
  11. Thankfully they're banning meaningless words like "meep" and not something historically significant like "Moops", who we all know invaded Spain in the 8th century.
  12. Yep. Good line is expensive these days. No need wasting it buried on a spool that will never see use. Go out, purchase some cheap line if you don't have some already and use the top 70-80 yds for your Yozuri. It's good stuff. I've been using it this year for the first time on RW's advice and have been very happy.
  13. I have always kind of agreed and still do. Like I've said all along I was never sure that my rating was right. That is not the issue nor the reason for the orig post. Perhaps the wording of my questions leaves something to be desired. I highlited my questions in the original post to help clarify. The problem is.. you've already left the negative feedback. It's out there. For all to see. It gives the impression that you had a bad experience with this seller which in fact, you didn't. But now he has to live with this negative despite the fact he fulfilled his end of the transaction. That's the reason why leaving a negative is such a big deal and why he was so worked up over your response. It's why Ebay specifically loads a second page up asking you if you had attempted to reach the seller and come to an understanding before you leave the negative. Remember, had the old system been in place he could've just as easily left a negative on you for being difficult. Ebay used to have an option to remove a negative feedback rating after the fact. I don't know if that's possible anymore. You might want to check that out.
  14. Got a Lews NIB, BB-1NG for $60, turned around and sold it for $260 on Ebay. Also picked up a nearly new Morrum for around $50 on a forum. Sold it on Ebay for around $200. In the fall of '08, Pflueger Patriachs were selling for around $125 NIB. Bought around 5 of them. Not anymore. :-[
  15. Obviously closing out the old version STX's.
  16. Actually it's not fair. A fair response would've been a message to the seller stating the poor packaging that was used and if he became pizzy, probably a neutral rating. The reasons? Your item arrived in a timely matter. It worked to your expectations. You got a good deal. Things have changed on ebay. Much like you're attempting to warn other ebayers that this guys packaging leaves much to be desired via the feedback response, Sellers previously had the ability to leave bad feedback towards buyers for the same reason. That priviledge was taken away by ebay. It's now fair game for any buyer, unhappy with anything in a transaction, to just fire away with negative feedback. That's why when you leave negative feedback Ebay specifically asks if you've tried resolving your issue with the seller. In this case, you pushed that negative feedback button way too soon and needlessly, IMO.
  17. You'll like this ;D
  18. My therapist told me we're close to a break through with my counseling on the "chicken episode". I still can't get those words out of my mind everytime I look at a piece of chicken...... they haunt me.
  19. You're now seeing the advantages to spending a little more money and getting a better reel like a Steez or a Calais. :tongue in cheek/:
  20. x2 Not only will that rather large snap swivel result in making the fish a little more shy to bite but that added weight in front of the lure is going to ruin the action.
  21. It's unlikely you'll have an issue. The plants are all up and running, business as usual. Of the 3 bass boat lines, Champion would seem to be the one with the foggiest future. That brand, while carrying a very strong, loyal customer base is also overlapping into the Ranger line, price wise. All three could be kept with Champions line being narrowed to a different market or it could be sold off and the remaining, Ranger, covering the upper end market and Stratos covering the entry level market. Too soon to tell yet.
  22. Or not. http://twincities.bizjournals.com/twincities/stories/2009/11/09/daily9.html In fact, it looks like Jacobs wants to take his VEC technology and make wind generators. http://www.twincities.com/news/ci_13748646?source=rss
  23. I think your biggest concern was whether sand or grit got sucked up into the water pump and possible damage that may have caused. Doesn't really sound like you've got a problem though.
  24. Great reel. Very smooth. You could turn that reel around for a nice little profit on Ebay if you felt like it.
  25. my mistake experiences with Quantum are with their reels. Their rods OTOH are a different story. I own a Tour edition spinning rod I really like and my experiences with their PT line has always been very favorable. Great mid priced rod.
