Wasn't Missouri derived from the word misery? ;D Yes. Early Missouri settlers found that living next to the state of Illinois left them in a perpetual state of misery thus the name for the state.

Table Rock Lake Resorts/Cabins
I guess quiet part of the lake is relative. I fished the Rock from the mid 70's into the 80's. I was basically a fishermens lake since the Corps restricted shoreline development due to strict restrictions on how the land from the normal pool level up to top of flood pool could be changed. From the late 80's on I fished LOZ as a friend bought a resort there. When I finally went back to Table Rock around 98-99' I was shocked. Condo's and large boat docks where in many places I figured they'd never be. While nowhere near what LOZ has changed into, it's still gone from being a Fishermens lake to something quite different. A long boat ride from Aunts creek to up above Shell Knob was an eye opener. The lower end of the lake is a mess.

Lure Pass #1 About to kick off!
Not ever going to happen here. It's been tried on other forums, and turned into a huge mess - basically a complaint/dispute forum with the mods trying to mediate. In addition, they've become mud-slinging fests. Just bad all around. Since you've been a member here a long time, you know I'd much rather focus on the positive things in life than the negative. Life's too short to dwell on the negative things. That's why we have a thread that highlights the good folks to deal with in the Flea Market, rather than the bad. Don't mean to be a negative Glenn. More of a knee jerk reaction. I've had my fair share of mis-deals though only one here. I could see an issue of attempting to figure out who was righted or wronged on a deal gone bad and then deciding if someone was deemed "not good to deal with". I'm just amazed that somebody would go on a public forum and completely trash their integrity over a box of lures. Amazing.

Evolution Jigs
I did! I've used the Terminator jigs, Evolution jigs and a few others. Any new jigs I purchase now are gman's jigs. Same quality as the Terminator for a lower price. The Terminator's trailer keeper is nice, but not worth the $1.50 difference between them and gman's. Interesting how peoples impressions of the same lure can vary so much. I got some Gman jigs as an add-on a few months ago when I purchased some Rage Tail craws on the flea market board here. I had been informed by a member here who had tried the Gman jigs that they hung up too much for him and he's a pretty heavy flipper in tough cover. I tried the Gmans in a tournament in September for the first time. While they didn't seem to hang up as badly as he indicated, I did have a hook bend completely out on a 3+ pound fish which wound up costing me a few positions and $$ at the tournament. I was not using braid BTW. The worst part was the guy who warned me off the jigs WATCHED me lose the fish at the boat. When I admitted it was due to the jig I got the biggest "I told you so" ever... :-[ Needless to say.........

Evolution Jigs
The Legal limit jigs I got were in the Cumberland craw color. Man, that is one sweet color. I'm going out this weekend and will be tossing those things. I'm hoping for positive results and will post my experience. BTW, responses will vary but I'm not one that thinks it's necessary to have every color under the sun when it comes to jigs. In fact, for a long time I only threw black/brown jig and spiced the color up with different colored trailers. Nowadays I normally throw a black n blue or a color like the cumberland craw I just bought.

Lure Pass #1 About to kick off!
I'd just like to know what Juniors ebay ID is so I don't happen to buy anything from him. Sorry this happened Clark but unfortunately, the naysayers have been around this forum long enough to know that when you get 25,000 members you're going to have some unscrupulous ones in the bunch and this kid is exactly that. Some of us have seen some really bad deals go down here by people that now have zero integrity. While I think a permanent banning is the least this kid deserves, I'd love to see a "Don't deal with this member" board as much as I appreciate the "Good members to deal with". It would serve a useful purpose and certainly help prevent this kind of thing from happening again.

Table Rock Lake Resorts/Cabins
I used to stay at Holiday Hideaway many, many years ago. A great resort but I have no idea about ownership now. Try googling up Aunts Creek arm Resorts. There are quite a few right around Holiday Hideaway. Not sure about 24/7 access to a boat, you'd have to check that out.

Monday Night Football 1994
I don't know. The best game I ever saw was the Redskins vs the Pack in the 1983. Gifford, Cosell and Alex Karras were the announcers. A fantastic passing game between Lynn Dickey and Joe Theismann. It's still the highest scoring game in MNF history. The skins lost it when a last second field goal went right.

Taylor Swift or KVD?
Exactly. Very easy. Taylor and my wife can stay home and go shopping while I spend the day in the boat with Jennifer Aniston. She probably can't fish either but who cares?

A 249lb Record PERCH!
Ha! Using the length x girth / pi, that fish won't even go 220lbs. Where's the CA guys at to dispute it?

Evolution Jigs
OK, as for an alternative? I've just gotten some new jigs that look really good made by legal limit lures. http://mylegallimitlures.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 They're a football type, standup jig that really standup great. I have yet to actually use these so I can't recommend by usage. I've only got about one or 2 trips left this season but if they work out well I'll post my results. BTW, my complaints with the Evolution jigs weren't with the hooks. Only the fact that they didn't work through heavy cover very well.

Evolution Jigs
If these are the same jigs that came in the tackle bag at last years roadtrip I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend them. At least not for flippin in heavy cover. I used them that week and they failed miserably at pitchin or flipping into brush/wood cover. They hung up way too easily.

Rams drop Rush
how are politicians involved in this? which politicians exerted control in this situation? The Rams play in a Stadium built with public tax dollars. If they continue in this city that won't change. It would seem there would be a slightly different set of standards and norms given that vs. the Rams playing in a self funded stadium. To my knowledge, State and St Louis elected officials have been moot on Limbaugh. I'm sure most consider his inclusion in the group a plus for keeping the team in St Louis. I'm still not seeing how any politicians are involved in the decision? Wasn't it the NFLPA or owners that decided against Rush? I believe there were some Rams players, speaking through the union, that indicated they wouldn't play for the team if Limbaugh was an owner. That , Sharpton and the owners themselves are the only ones I've heard with any opposition. I don't see where political figures would have a say nor have I heard anything.

Yep.

Motorguide Wireless TM - Opinions?
Mike, if you haven't done so already, I'd strongly suggest that you test drive any power drive motor from either manufacturer for a day before purchasing. The biggest issue of any user changing from a cable drive to electronic power drive are the head turning speeds. The head turning speeds drops as the TM speed is increased since the motor is drawing the bulk of the current from the single source. This becomes most noticeable if you were to hang a lure up in shallow water and have wind and wave action making your journey into that shallow water to retrieve the lure an adventure. The problem is also evident if you're fishing waters that have obstructions just under the water that you can't see until you're almost on top of them. Both of these situations require speed to move the boat out of the way of the obstructions but also the ability to turn at a pretty high rate of speed. From my own experience, the power drives don't perform both tasks at the same time well which is why so many will advise you to stay with cable drive despite some of the operational features of the power drives that make them attractive. A TM is a pretty big investment. I found the PD unacceptable in less than a year from purchasing and wound up living with it until the TM literally bounced off the boat. You'll also find PD motors difficult to sell and you'll get less for them used should you decide later that the motor just isn't working for you.

Deer hunters...
Back when I used to hunt, 10+ years ago, we often saw armadillo's as we hunted down in Southern Missouri. They were much fun to shoot at to pass the time. The locals encouraged us to shoot every one we saw.

A New Tackle Strategy
Does anybody really "need" 50lbs of soft plastics and hundreds upon hundreds of other baits to catch bass consistently? Nope. It keeps the tackle manufacturers in business though.
