Batteries For Trolling Motor????
You may have to bypass the built in breakers by hooking directly to the battery or taking the built in breakers out of the circuit.

Charger/battery Problem?
Moving the electronics to your starting battery as suggested is a good idea, Add a ground disconnect to the starting battery and even if you leave forget to turn off the electronics they will all be off when you disconnect the ground. Your tilt and trim should be connected to the starter battery also. You mentioned you had a 12v/24v switch on the trolling motor. You need to look to see if you have 2 or 3 wires going to the trolling motor. The switch may or may not be functional. My friends Bass Cat has an older TM that has the switch but it isn't functional.

Batteries For Trolling Motor????
I bought my last lead acid batteries at Costco and they have been in the boat 3 years and still going strong. I keep 1 amp trickle chargers on them. Batteries have really gone up in price.

Pulling A Boat... 4X4 Or 4X2
98 percent of the time I haven't needed to engage 4 wheel drive to get in or off the water. There have been a few times when fishing some inland lakes in the U.P. both axles were in the water to launch so 4x4 was a must. Gas is getting so expensive it may be the economical choice to go with 2 wheel drive, We need a V6 diesel offering in 1/2 ton or mid size trucks in the U.S. then you can have economy and 4x4.

Is 16.5 Too Short?
I have a 16.5ft Fisher Marsh hawk 165. Fits in the garage, easy on gas and gets into tight spaces on the water.

Are you adding the rudder to a kayak?

Questions About Replacing Carpet In My Boat
I replaced the carpet in my last boat. It was a good winter project because I had to replace the floor and make some structural repairs. I am glad I did it. Only advise I have is don't use black carpet!

What Is A Good Trolling Motor To Get?
Personally I haven't been impressed with the Motorguide units I have owned. My next one will be a Minn Kota.

Outboard With No Title In Missouri
You need to get a form from the license bureau and take that and your bill of sale to the local police or state police and they sign off it wasn't stolen.

Lets Say You Won A Brand New Top Of The Line Rig
My decision - I am happy with the boats I have so I would sell the boat I won and after taxes probably would have enough left to buy an SRT Challenger and maybe upgrade the Kayak. My wife would want to use the profit to pay down the house and she would probably let me upgrade the kayak.

Now that I have a pickup I bought a bed extender ($70 Harbor Freight) mounted lights to it for safety and haul my near 14 foot yak in a short bed truck. Prior to that I could load to yaks on my Saris Load Bars on the roof of my Jeep Liberty. If you want to trailer you can use one of those inexpensive Harbor Freight trailers.

Sometimes less is more. My Loon 138 on at a 45 acre lake with no access to a boat ramp. 2 rod holders, anchor trolley, and storage behind and in front of the seat. Next I may add a depth finder since I have a couple of older ones laying around. This boat takes me a lot of places I can't get to in my big boat.

St Peter's Mo Area Fishing
You can fish the banks of a lake at the St. Peters Golf Course. A friend of mine does well there, There 2 lakes at Fountain Lakes 370 an Elm Point Rd. Lincoln Lake in Cuivre River State Park near Troy MO. This is a nice lake but bass tend to be small but people do well with cat ish. Bush Wild Life has many lakes to fish, Lakes 31 & 32 are off of D and you have to walk in a ways but is reported to be very productive. You can rent boats at Bush for $5.

Need A Trolling Motor
it is a bit of a pain to put them back together but doable. I used dental floss to hold the brushes while I reassembled the motor. If 24 volt trolling motors are big bucks so the only other option is find a shop that specializes in trolling motor repair. It cost me $100 to have the speed coil replaced on my Motor Guide. When I replace it it will be with a Minn Kota.

How Much Has Your Boat Cost?
I looked hard for a used SV2 in 2002 but none to be found around my area. They were a boat ahead of their time. Ended up with a new 2001 Fisher Marsh Hawk 165 with a 50hp Mercury. Its all aluminum no wood to rot and lap streak sides. I wouldn't sell it for what I paid for it in 2002. Spent very little on repairs. Upgraded the trolling motor for free, sold the used one for what the new one cost. Replaced both depth finders for under $300, one was on sale one was new in the box at a resale shop. Had to buy 2 tires and one tail light. The tail light was taken out by a short steel pole in tall grass when I parked where the resort owner asked me to park it,
