  1. Same here. I gave up on them years ago. Maybe only caught 1 or 2 on a spinner bait. I dont like them.
  2. Ill still go to NBS as needed but when its time to stock up, Im hitting BPS.
  3. Never fished a tournament myself. ( maybe it is time? ) I mainly go with my brothers or my wife and son. When I go with my brothers, it is a little competetive which is great but NOTHING compares to my 8 year old hooking up with a fish. I could go all day and not catch a thing. If my family does, I am very happy for them. Last season was the best by far for him. He pulled in quite a few 3-5 lb'ers.
  4. There is a BPS opening in Hookset which is about a half hour from NBS in Brentwood. Wonder how that will impact their business. I go to NBS frequently because I live up the street but I will probably hit BPS more often than NBS.
  5. Ok, this is getting weird now. Do you know Scott Rogers? Maybe PM me so we dont have to torture the rest of the folks here.
  6. Very sorry to hear about your friends passing. Im sure he is catching all the big ones up there. : )
  7. Wow small world. One of my best buddies has a place on the Balch as well and I basically grew up on that lake. They live over in Shady Nook. Spent most of my summers there.
  8. Yeah the launch is right next to the public beach off old Rt 125. You have to try it. It will not disappoint. Only been to Onway once even though its not too far from my house. Will have to try it again this spring. My buddy fishes it quite a bit. Another great place is Balch Pond. Have to hit it during the week or early morning though because it gets pretty busy.
  9. It really was heaven. Best fishing of my life. It was like I was down south. I don't mind telling. It was Milton Three Ponds. If ever in the area check it out. Not a lot of fishing pressure and lots of parking at public launch. Only down side is it is 10.00 to launch but the fishing was well worth it. Tom
  10. Towards the end of last season, went camping and brought the canoe even though I didnt really plan to fish. Well, I am glad I did because between myself, my wife and son we caught some HUGE fish. Biggest smallies AND Largies that I have ever seen. 3-5 Lbs Smallies and 5-7 lb Largies. Nothing under 3 lbs. All day. Well needless to say I hit that lake for the next 3-4 weeks ( with my boat ) and the action never let up! Whole family caught PB's for size and quantity. Cannot wait until ice out and I plan on renting a house on the lake and fishing a LOT!

  13. Thanks Shane. Im actually now looking at Little Sebago in Maine. Ever fished there? im looking to book for July 20th. Just waiting to hear back from owner. Looks like a fantastic lake with lots of points, coves and islands.
  14. I am about a half hour from there myself. Cannot wait!!
  15. Does anyone have any experience on this lake? Thinking about renting a house for a week in July and just curious how the fishing is. Thanks Tom

Hey Mark I was using a rage tail worm on the rig until I ran out. Then had a green cut tail worm. Didn't seem to matter what I had on there really.

Went fishing on Saturday at Pine River Pond in NH. Had 4 rods ready to go. Crankbait, jerk bait, Senko and a drop-shot rig with a rage tail worm. It was a fairly windy day and mostly cloudy. My brothers like to give me a hard time about all my gear. As soon as one of them laughed about trying a drop -shot ( which I never try ) I hooked up with a 2.5 lb LM. from then on, I never put down that rod and caught about 20 bass to their 10 combined total for the day. Of course I got the last laugh. I think I found a new favorite technique. Ive never caught that many fish in one day. I plan on using the drop-shot frequently now. Anyone else like using the drop-shot? Tom
  18. I would also like to thank you for the baits. Got them today and hope to put them to the test this weekend. Will post pics. Thanks again
  19. Hit Massabesic on Thursday ( 19th ) afternoon. Wate temps ranged from 61 to 69 in some areas. Caught a few nice smallies on tubes and cranks. Found some great spots to fish on that lake. Need to hit it again soon.
  20. Nice fish either way but I dont think it is a 5-6 lnder though. JMO.
  21. Yeah I would say no more than 3 lbs or so. Still nice fice though.
  22. Its going to be aound 70 and clear skies in southern NH. Hitting a lake with lots of smallies. Not sure about the water temp but guessing mid to high 50's and the lake is normally clear. I plan on throwing some tubes, cranks and surely some Senkos. Any advice on color selections? Tom
  23. Yeah I have a 2002 Toyota 4Runner. Need to try to make something I guess. Thanks
  24. Does anyone use a rod holder system for the inside of their SUV roof? Looking for ideas or a good product. Rods are a little too long to rest in cargo area without the tips hitting the roof and keeping the rods curved. Curious if anyone has a good system for this. Tom
