Who Would You Fish With And Why.....
Heidi Klum. I don't think I need to explain why.

Teaching The Girlfriend
Here's what you do: Next time she misses a fish, suggest that it's okay, that men are just naturally stronger/better fishermen. This should do it.

First Impressions Of The Spro Baby Popper Frog, Somethings Not Right
Probably half (or more) of the fish I catch on frogs will have only one hook in them-and it's not uncommon for the other hook to get buried in the lure. Sometimes it's how the fish hits which causes the hooks to bury into the plastic. I wouldn't dismiss the bait as being defective just yet.

Awesome Fishing Partner
That's a great picture (of her, not you))! KIDDING!!!!!! These things are what life is all about! Whether she remembers the specifics of this trip later is difficult to say but the bonding will be imprinted on her heart forever.

Let It Be What Fish?
I will sometimes fish some species (crappie, bluegill, pike) to the exclusion of others but what makes bass so appealing is that they can (often) be caught in so many ways with so many techniques. If you get bored (unlikely) with one technique, you can (or may have to) move on to another way to still catch bass. Another thing which I really enjoy (so long as I eventually do figure it out) is just that-figuring them out. It's like a big riddle you have to solve. The gratification in that is potent.

Did You Know
It's semantics, to be sure, but my personal best is whatever bass i catch on any given day.

No Need Really
With the exception of one occasion, I haven't used spinnerbaits this entire season. But that doesn't mean I won't. The locations and/or conditions just haven't seemed quite right. But would I go out without them? Not if I have space. You just never know. If you NEVER use certain things and don't wish to step out of your comfort zone to try to use them (or simply are happy with the way things are), you might as well put the extra baits in a display case or shadow box-or keep them in your tackle box, for all it matters.

Is This Great Or What?

Jokes - Let's Have Some Fun
Three women, a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead, have just broken out of prison. They are being hotly pursued by a posse and they hide in a barn and, in desperation, inside three large burlap sacks where they crouch quietly. The possee comes in and one of the guards notices one of the sacks has moved. He kicks it and the brunette inside, thinking quickly, begins bleating like a goat. The guard thinks to himself, Jjust a goat ready for market". Seeing another sack move, he kicks it. Inside, the redhead begans squealing like a pig. The guard thinks to himself, "just a pig going to market." He spies the last sack and kicks it. The blonde inside doesn't quite know what to do and remains silent. The guard kicks it again, and again. At last, the blonde cries out "Potatoes!"

Do You Ever Feel "lost" Or Uneasy...
I understand the desire to not use someone's rods/reels. Rarely if ever do I do that (especially since I use "left-handed" baitcasters). Let's narrow the borrowed items to just lures (items in their tackle box) and not rods/reels. How does that change the equation?

Do You Ever Feel "lost" Or Uneasy...
...if you have to borrow someone elses gear and lures? I do-even if they have as much gear or more than I do and they say they have no problem with me borrowing it. In my minds-eye I know exactly what I want to use and if it isn't there, I feel unsettled. It takes half the confidence out of my game.

So, Finally Want To Invest In A Digital Hand Scale.....
I am not a "hater" in most things but do NOT get the Berkley Digital scale. It may work okay when it works but that "when" will be short-lived. Mine broke in less than a year (with light usage). On the BPS website, most of the good reviews came from folks who had not had it very long. It has a lot of BAD reviews-one of them being mine.

Beetle Spin
Ah, the lowly beetle spin! The mere thought of them brings back nostalgia for fishing the Middle Fork river for smallies and rock bass. I don't use them much now but having been reminded of them, maybe I'll take out a little kit and use them soon.

Very Scary Fishing Experience
I respect snakes and their role in the ecosystem and I'm not especially frightened of them however if I saw a snake gnawing on my foot, I'd soil myself and scream like a little girl.

Anyone Use Trolling When Targeting Bass?
If I'm moving from point a to point b and all I have is my trolling motor, you bet! i will often trail a lure behind the boat. Or if, in my searching, I cannot seem to locate fish, I'll switch to trolling. I've caught lots of bass, crappie, catfish, etc. while trolling. The second largest bass I ever caught was while trolling a shad rap in about 14 feet of water.

Are You Guys Still Using Rattlers On Bass Throughout The Summer?
I don't use them much in the summer and when I do, they don't work very well and get caught in the weeds. not my first summer choice-for largemouth anyway. They work well for Smallies, though.

Towing Small Boat With Mazda 3
You better be sure it doesn't violate the lease agreement-unless you want to OWN the vehicle.

When Did You Get Yours?
I got my first "real" boat about ten years ago. a 17.5 foot johnboat with a 25 horse Evinrude. After the initial "honeymoon period", I find I use it less and less-especially after I purchased a bass raider from a friend a couple years back. Have been thinking of buying a kayak and if I like it/use it a lot, I'll probably be serving the large boat divorce papers.

Curse?
Not that long ago I had a favorite old Berkley Lightning Rod which was scratched, worn, and most of the lettering had long since worn away. It was the first "expensive" rod I ever bought and I was beginning to think it would last forever when it managed to work it's way under a cleat in my boat. Went to lift it up and CRACK! Oh well! Rest in Peace (or in pieces) old trusty Lightning Rod. : (

Why So Many Rods?
Because there is a fine line between insanity and a hobby. : )

Let's Play "remember When"
...remember when plastic worms were comprised almost solely of pre-rigged creme worms or Manns Jelly worms? I still get a euphoric buzz when I take in the intoxicating aroma of a jelly worm. : )

Buzzbaits: Here Piggy Piggy!
I have a goodly collection of buzzbaits but none of them have that lovely metallic SQUEAL I've been looking for (bet you were wondering what the reference to pigs was about). Anyway, which buzzbaits would you recommend for this?
