  1. Spent the last couple days on the Susky. Overcast with rain, water has a green tint but clear, temps between 40-43 degrees. Caught 19 Thursday, 20 on Friday. Friday my son and I caught 4 over 20" on jerkbaits. Fished jerkbaits and finesse zman plastics. Heading back next week for a few days. River suppose to rise a couple ft and should put some color in the water, both will be a good thing.
  2. I'm interested as well. Will be on the river Wed-Sat this week, Duncannon area.
  3. I use Dave's Tournament Tackle swim shad underspins. For trailers usually Keitech easy shiner or fat impact. Gonna try the SK menace this yr. Colder water slow rolling letting it bump bottom. Say 55 or above, bring it back as I would a spinnerbait.
  4. I use a snap for 99% of all my fishing. For spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, I install a skirt band over the "R" bend loop so the snap stays in the loop and doesn't run up and down the wire.
  5. Still available through Fishing Complete
  6. +1 on RTIC
  7. For river smallmouth in VA I use the screamin eagle white skirt, gold head, gold blades. Second would be white/chartreuse skirt still with gold blades. My experience, gold blades out catch silver 10-1, cloudy or clear skies.
  8. Was scrolling through topics, saw your question, and remembered seeing this on TW.
  9. BOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
  10. I believe you are correct. Google search found that Yum stopped making them back in 2015 and it's just taken this long to move through the stock.
  11. Has always been a great smallmouth plastic for me. Hate to see it discontinued
  12. What Gundog said exactly
  13. A little late..... Cabela's guidewear bibs. I'm a larger guy and find that the jacket is too heavy and bulky in my size. The bibs come up my chest to almost 6"-8" below my chin. I layer a couple shirts, a hoodie and a light weight frogg toggs rain jacket; still not as bulky as the guidewear jacket. This is the route for me sitting on the bow of my river boat running trolling motor, casting. If I where sitting still ice fishing, then the guidewear jacket would probably work. Bottom line, bibs are the way to go for warmth and keeping dry. I wear muck boots as well to keep feet dry.
  14. Where are you finding these other than ordering from Japan? Thanks, HD
  15. Patterson Custom Baits. Local guy in Richmond, VA that makes these, jigs, swimbaits. He has a FB page
  16. I'll have to give these a try!
  17. I use a duo lock snap for everything. Use the premium snaps like Mustad, Owner, and P-line, not the thin diameter. I have never had one fail. I use the size 1 or 1.5 and tie it with a palomar knot. Gonna give the Mustad Fastach Clip a try this year.
  18. I've had a Terrova for 6yrs. Am looking at the Ulterra and going from 101 to 112. Hope my questions help the OP Is the Ulterra quieter when you turn it than the older model Terrova? Is the up/down trim quick enough vs manually tilting the Terrova if you have to miss rocks, etc in a river environment? Has anyone gone from 101 to 112 thrust and seen a difference in power to hold in current? Thanks
  19. Great info! Never realized this but makes perfect sense. Learning to read the water is key. Thanks for sharing!!!
  20. Sick Custom Baits, across the river from you in Elizabethtown at River Bottom Reels. Susky Dream, Susky Delight, Purple Haze Gold, Chartreuse/White, Spooked Out Shad and several others. I generally throw 3/8. Lots of guys in your area swear by them.
  21. Good job in those conditions! VERY smart wearing the life jacket in that terrain and weather conditions!!
  22. Buddy of mine fished a 3/8 double gold willow blade Stanley Vibra-Wedge Spinnerbait in Toledo Gold this past Fall for smallmouth in stained to muddy water and tore them up. Primary skirt color is red. He was slow rolling it, ticking the bottom and they would crush it. I wouldn't have believed it either if I had not been there. Out fished me 2-1 over those 3 days, he never threw another bait that trip!
  23. I'm gonna give these a try. 99% of the time I fish soft jerkbaits and senkos weightless. I noticed they also come in a 3/32 weighted version. Have you tried the weighted version?
  24. I fished a color very close to that with white willows in very stained water this year and did quite well.
