  1. Zoom lizards just work, period. Love to throw them in the river where current keeps the tail and legs moving. And the majority of the time when they get hit, they get hit; not a mush bite!
  2. Check out “The Hook Pal”. Plastic discs to lock baits in place. Videos show multiple uses for plastics and hooks
  3. Where can you find these?
  4. Reel River Adventures, Chris Gorsuch is the guide. Find him on FB
  5. Owner Jungle Wacky Weedless on TW as well
  6. And in the winter time you can slip a hand warmer under it to keep hands your hands warm! Cut it in half, probably don't need the full length of the coolie. Sell the idea to the rain suit makers......somebody's gonna make a $1 off it, might as well be you!
  7. Check out The Hook Pal. It’s the plastic lid hole punch idea. I use it for trailer hooks, securing soft plastics, etc. Videos on their site for all the uses. $15 for the kit I believe with tool and discs. They have several colors and even glo-in-the-dark discs. Same cost as a large pizza so price isn’t an issue
  8. On sale where?
  9. I have their darters to fish this year so can't speak to them yet. The Chillie Willie and predator craws are deadly cold water smallies plastics. Also their stone catties are on the mark. Great guys, quality plastics. You won't go wrong buying from them. Look up Reel River Adventures. Chris Gorsuch uses a lot of their baits and shares info on his FB page.
  10. What brand are those? I'm not familiar with that label and can't make out the name. Love some bubblegum for smallies!
  11. I’ve contacted them a few times by email asking that they bring back the chartreuse with black pepper color in the Sweet pea. Very responsive and said they may consider it but nothing yet. That color works well on both LM and smallies. That color in that particular bait style is not something the masses would buy up without knowing how productive it actually is. On the other hand, black is a very accepted color by the majority and shouldn’t be a hard sell to get them to produce. Worth an email. I was successful (I believe) in getting them to bring back green pumpkin (go figure, of all colors!) They were out of that color for almost a year and they responded to my email that it was a good call and a couple weeks later it was available.
  12. Looks like that order qualified for free shipping! I see I'm not the only one committed to green pumpkin!
  13. I haven't used their minnows or shad but I have had epic days on the river using their beaver (Case calls theirs Lil' sweet pea). Good company, very responsive, durable baits. Ken Penrod who guides on the Susquehanna and Potomac Rivers is sponsored by them and he uses a lot of their baits successfully. KenP20 will get you a 20% discount on your order, that may help you try them.
  14. I use the 8# and 10# power pro in both red and yellow for finesse; straight, no leader. Apprehensive at first but a gentleman that fishes crystal clear streams and small rivers in WV, whom I admire greatly for his smallmouth finesse fishing knowledge, uses it exclusively. His advice to me was presentation/match the forage trumps line color period. Obviously this is speaking of small diameter line, not anchor rope.

I reckon that size would have to be on a 1oz or better head due to the lift it would create, couldn't keep it down with less. Pike/Musky spinnerbait use?
  16. I was just thinking about them the other day myself. Always done well with them for smallies just letting them drift with the current. And like you, just moved on to throwing other things and forgot about them. I even have a box in the boat dedicated to lizards and will pull them out this year. 6" GP magic and moccasin blue produced well for me. I mostly tossed them during the summer months.
  17. What is the application for this hook?
  18. GP with gold flake, GP with purple flake, GP with black flake are all three staples for me while smallmouth fishing. Blue craw mentioned above is also a good GP color for me. Your nemesis is GP, mine is watermelon....
  19. Agree with Munkin
  20. Early teen yrs all I fished were Crème worms and the black/silver "broken back" rapala. Haven't fished one in years, should though, it worked. Throw it out, let the wake rings settle, couple twitches, BOOM!
  21. The Nikko hellgrammite falls in line with the Zman plastics in that it floats and don't mix it with other plastics. I rig it on a 1/32 or 1/16 ned head #2 hook. I use the "natural" or "green pumpkin" color. It does the trick on river smallies for sure. The hula grub, I use dark pumpkin or green pumpkin, 4", texas rigged 3/0 hook with a split shot crimped about an inch up the line from the hook. There have been days it was the ticket, others it worked about the same as a zoom craw or beaver style bait.
  22. Is Copper Perch a go-to for you for LM, SM, or both?
  23. May I ask the number of this mold and will it accept 1/0 hooks? Thanks!
