Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
Yea, but I make up for the off season by hunting deer and turkey and during the few months of winter end of dec-feb I read and work a lot to save money for gear and things. Although I am pretty ready for all this snow to be gone and with the nor easter we just got up here we still got a month or so left haha. Ill have to give that book a try and so has anyone looked at the topo I posted I know its not the best one around, but that was the only one I could find if you see anything noticeable from it please share only place I saw was the island on the east side of it had a slight drop off of about 10ft around it. Also some of the banks had sudden change pretty gradual, but atleast I am learning to read the map.

Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
Ok for presentations I like to fish 5 inch senkos wacky rigged, Carolina rigged lizards, Tubes, and Spiders grubs (Jigs) and can anyone lead me to some articles on here or maybe some books that I may rent or purchase as to bass behavior that way I can start adding to my arsenal and knowledge about where bass might be. Like anything I know it will take practice, but I believe that if I can start on the right path to success on becoming a better anger ill eventually become one. If anyone has any other tips or tricks theyd like to share that would improve my fishing ability please post.

Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
I am not trying to just learn from my own mistakes I am taking everyone's info into account and I will try out all the techniques once I get out on the water. It is just hard to understand what some are saying without being on the water first hand, but I am starting to put together everyone's inputs into a somewhat technique for myself and I would like to become a better angler with off shore structure and deep structure and cover. Thank you for your input

Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
Ohh I see and within those structures could be bass favorite cover like weeds and such and that would make the spot worth whiled and then you could almost pattern the fish as to where there favorite structures are and as to what covers on the structure as to making it a good spot for bass to ambush prey. I kinda see it. The trouble I am having with it all i finding the structure maybe just some time on the water looking for points and flats and other things will improve my sight for it.

So to find productive spots you basically wanna look for enough cover where bass could ambush prey and then apply bass habits to the factor and bam you'll find the fish???? Also so what makes structure better than other structure I's the ammount of cover persay on a piece of structure??? Yes?

Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
Thanks for the help guys, but I will say electronics do sound nice yet money is an issue for me. I really just need to see some structure fishing in action. I also would like to learn how to tournament fish so that maybe some day I could try and do it. For now though I really just need to see what it's like to fish structure it all seems so confusing, but I feel as though with time and practice on the water I'll learn. The whole looking for structure thing though kinda stumps me a tad bit

Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
I like to think of Bass Fishing and Hunting more of a passion then my hobbies. I try to learn everything I can its just there's always learning gaps where I am afraid to try new techniques that I am not comfortable with outside of fishing the weeds and banks per say. Until I fished a tournament with my uncle and fished with him a couple of times I would have never even thought about fishing deep structure, but I can sure see that it produces.

Not to sound like a noob but the terms you guys use such as lay downs standing timber, flats. I kinda get lost a quick description would be ideal. Also when you say look for structure you can see for example would an island that is in the middle of my lake that has a sand bar off it and then drops down to deeper water be considered a structure I could see. Sorry guys for some noobie questions I just have never fished deep structure during midday.

Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
Do I necessarily need electronics right now??? or should I just spend time on the water show me what to look for could I just try to train my eye per say ?? Also by looking at the shore could I read what might be happening down in the water and go off of that possibly???? Another thing I do enjoy fish Senkos,Carolina Rigged Lizards, Tubes, and Spider Grubs on football head jigs. I am not a fan of most lures seeing as how I haven't had much luck with them and I also like throwing top water frogs in weeds or lily pads in the morning. Also if I do find structures such as points and drop offs and offshore structures how would I fish them per say with like a Carolina rig. Would I work my way down the point also how far off should i be from the structure. One last thing seeing as how I am only in a 12 ft V hull the wind pushes me around quite a bit any tips on how to make it so when I fish these structure on how I should approach them with my boat.

Thanks for the help guys. The problem is I cant really identify structure like some pictures of structures to look for on these lakes would be helpful because it seems like every time I fish these places I cant find the fish.

Tips For Being Successful All Day Long
Hey Guys, I have been bass fishing for many years now I have fished 1 tournament ever in my life and it seems to me that I only fish during the morning and late evening is when I most produce. Then I look at these other guys that fish almost all day even throughout the afternoon heat and they are constantly catching fish. Now I do not own the most expensive boat being how I am only 18. In fact I own a small V hull boat with trailer electric motor and a 6 hp Johnson motor. Nor do I have enough money for a decent set of electronics. I;m just wondering if you guys can give me any tips on maybe how to be more successful during midday bite and where might be able to produce fish all day long. For more info I live in New Hampshire where shad and other forage baits like that are not prevalent. Thanks -Mike

Locating Bass By Shore And Land Fetaures
I have a protable fish finder much like the Eagle Cuda 300. The suction cup mount never really sticks solid thoguh and I never really found out how to use it much. I feel as though if I aquire the skills to read it I will become a better angler in itself because on my lake I no where points and drop offs are, but I never really no how far from them I should be fishing and I never know how to tell whats down there. I want to be able to fish deep water because in the spring, summer when I mostly fish bass tend to congregate to deeper water during midday. Not knowing if sturcture lies underneath a point or what type of bottoms the lake has throws me off a lot. Any tips on how I can mount and read my fish finder would be great also any tips on reading topo maps for succes would help a lot.

Locating Bass By Shore And Land Fetaures
What kinda Fish Finder should I invest in and also say I look on the shoreline and see like humps and points jetting out would this continue along in the water. Also my V hull gets pusher around with the wind a lot seeing as how its a light, but I do have a trolling motor any tips on positioning my boat for success.

Locating Bass By Shore And Land Fetaures
It has come to my attention that in my V hull boat I cant really put in an expensive fish finder and frankly I never really enjoyed using them, only reason I had one was for depth and temp. My question is how do you guys narrow down your selection as of where to start fishing and have a high chance of being successful I've heard of looking at the shore line and then determining by that, but I'm kinda lost on it all. I usually hammer the shore line chancing for bass, but I would like to also learn how to fish deep water and be successful Maybe if led in the right direction I might be interested in buying a small unit for my boat just for deep water fishing. Any help is appreciated Thanks - Mike

How To Find Bass Without Electronics
What I don't understand is how you tell weeds from rocks and so on and so fourth and also since the mounting on the transducer is a suction cup it reall doesn't help at all and I's quite the pain in the ass
