  1. I usually launch my boat and immediately look at land features and look for cover mostly visible. Then as the day progresses usually in the summer ill start shallow cover then as midday comes I go deeper about 8-13ft and look for cover in that depth range whether it be weeds or rocks or clay or whatever and fish those areas then come night time i fish docks and other shallow cover I usually am pretty successful, but I feel like I could be catching more bass just by determining their location instead of just chancing it.
  2. I defianettly need to learn mroe presentations because im very fluent with soft plastics I wouldl ike to learn more on reaction baits and search baits becasue I feel as thoguh with those id learn how to cover water a lot faster.

  7. Hey guys, So for awhile now I have been asking myself what is gonna lead me in the right direction to improve myself as a bass fisherman and what should be what I learn first before other things. Well I am having a hard time figuring that out for my self so I am looking for some guidance as to how do I become great at bass fishing. I have been bass fishing since I was a little kid and I have taken a passion for it so I would consider myself not a beginner. but I'm just wondering what you all did to improve your bass fishing skills and or what I could do to improve my fishing skills to catch more bass. Any help is appreciated Thanks - Mike
  8. Another question I have is when do you guys usually stop your bass fishing like month wise??? And do you try to fish another species or do another type of fishing just looknig to see cause I am looking to take up some ice fishing for bass come next winter aswell
  9. Hey Guys, This year I want to participate as a non boater in some bass tournaments. First of all I would like to know is how you approach these tournaments as to strategy and also what you do to scout the lakes the tournament is going to be held on. Also any tips on using baits and tackle tips as to how many rods you should have and or what you might need to compete that would be great. Any help is appreciated. Thanks -Mike
  10. Where can you catch shiners??? Just any old river or??
  11. When you mean wide open are you talking about it being fish able right now??? like the water is iced out and fish able???
  12. Do you go Ice Fishing a lot for bass??? I have never been but it seems interesting
  13. Right and when you say crawlers you mean Canadian Night crawlers???? I never had a clue how to fish those for bass without catching a lot of sunfish if you could go more in depth on it that be great.

  17. Hey guys, Just looking to see if there is a resource guide website much like this one with articles and forums but for hunting. Any help is appreciated
  18. Wow great info guys. I have been reading a lot of the articles on this website tying to read as much as possible before the season then I am going to bring it all out on the water.
  19. Hey Guys, Just seeing if anyone has any tips as to live bait meaning shiners as like how to fish them more or less like rigs to fish them on and where to fish them such as which types of cover are most efficient to fish them next to.
  20. Thats actually a sick design haha
  21. So what your saying is fish in my lake would be on cover edges more or less because they adapt to the very little structural features of the lake therefore they pertain to docks and weeds and heavy rock cover instead of like drop offs and humps???
  22. Now see that's another thing I get lost on is trolling and learning the lake bottom??? How do you understand like the bottom if your just dragging a lure. Also I no where good weeds are so you think on this lake cover should be my main focus??? Rather than off shore structure and thanks Aharris for that tip. I will say I am more of a cover near the shoreline about 5-10 ft of water kinda guy looking for that big bucket mouth in the heavy cover type. If anyone has any tips on my preference of fishing that will help as well to.
  23. Yea it's basically empty and how are you making these assumptions on the flats and such??? And points also do the grey line that's in the water indicate the channel???
