Blackmax turning handle without spool?
If I may ask how to you like the BM? Thinking about picking one up for my grandson. He can use any of my stuff but did see some half decent reviews on the combo. And pretty inexpensive. Thanks.

I love your idea of using a ventilated spinnerbait style box to hang those crankbaits. May have to steal your idea and try it with one. I’ve been drilling holes in the 3600 and 3700 boxes for a long time. I don’t have rusting problems and don’t ever remember having them. I drilled my holes on the sides around the perimeter of the box. If it starts to rain while I’m out and don’t put it back in the storage compartment the 3700 lid will shed the rain. But this doesn’t happen very often. Your carry handle is nice and the look perfect for jerkbaits. Good luck.

Height and rod length?
Longer rod only get more line off the water faster.

Crayfish, now I know why
I find it to be a pretty decent article. I read this back a while ago. But being one that fishes a lot of soft plastics and crawdad I’ve always have done better with ones that are NOT too lifelike in exact detail. My favorite of all time does not exist anymore. But have been able to find/use others (not over detailed) that work well. Been fishing a new craw, I’ve been using some Zman TRD Craws because I like the smaller size. They are a bit detailed. Will say that they are working. Not a big fan of the Ned jig heads. This season I’m gonna trig and peg smaller bullet weights. Great post. Have fun.

Shorter vs Longer rods sensitivity
Is your thought because the rod is longer they become less sensitive? I don’t fish a Kistler. But a 6’10”, 7’, 7’2” SC Avid seem to be equally as sensitive. The SC Avids are my favorites of my rods. I fish a 5’9” version to fish tubes and grubs near docks and low hanging trees. Quite a bit shorter but not greater sensitivity or less sensitive.

Dogwood Tree Watch
In PA when the Dogwoods bloom its prime spring turkey time. I’ll be out. Wild Turkey seasoned and done in a brown & serve bag in the oven is good stuff.

tackle monkey got me - Berkley Beaver Wake Bait
This is the first I’ve seen or heard of this beaver. Bass do not go through my mind at first. Same with that top water duck that has been out for awhile. But I can see a Musky showing a lot of interest. I hope the OP catches a nice bass on it. I guess that was Berkley’s intention for bass. Having a beaver ? around can never hurt.

The ole beaver ? has caught a lot of fisherman over the years.

Do you need a trailer with a spinner bait?
I use it on both. Throw the buzzbaits in there also. Not huge trailers because my baits are on the smaller side. But I scale them pretty well. I will sometimes use trailer hooks on spinnerbaits.

Favorite color spinner bait
White or black for me also. But I’m throwing very lite spinnerbaits nothing over 3/16 oz. I guess you can call them micro size similar to my jigs.

Snelled Hook
OP has not responded as to whether he is talking about a pack of snelled hooks or a snelled knot. Wat up yo. Some fake first time post. Need a trip to Wally World. A lot of snelled hooks there.

Snelled Hook
?no doubt in my mind. Those old school EC bait holders are tuff. When I was kid/young guy I use to fish for carp and channel catfish and caught some big’uns on EC No. 2’s 4’s 6’s. The Jewish guys wanted the carp. But wanted them alive. They use to put them in the bathtub for a few days and flush them out I guess. They would give us a couple of dollars for them. The channel cats, guys in town would pitch us some money or would give us new terminal tackle for them. Keeping the carp alive was a PIA. More work than what it was worth. Kid and stupid. I wish I had pics of those days.

Snelled Hook
Pack of snelled no. 1 hooks? No. 6, 4, 2 snelled hooks.

Brush hog style lures?
Maybe that slight difference will make the difference on that particular day.

Snelled Hook
A smelled hook is a hook with a mono leader tied to it. Hooked one end tied loop on other for you to attach to snap? Snap swivel or whatever.

Got my first fish of the year!
Real real nice. Minnows I take it. ?

Brush hog style lures?
I’ve only fished the Baby and Tiny Baby brush hogs (river smallies). In the few colors I use they work. No reason to switch. But IF I were to try something similar it would be the Berkley version. Seem to do real well with Berkley stuff. No plans on that yet. If I try something else than I have to deal with the mental part of it.

The latest sale thread
I’m pretty set on tackle. Only needed to replenish a few things I use the most. A small amount of terminal tackle was easy to order up. Jumped on board to try some new plastics with a site sponsor. Feel real good about them. A few new Rapala crankbaits version are on their way now. Should have them midweek. Got my bulk spools of line. Luckily not hard pressed for anything. But to your point you are correct. I’ve noticed where I purchase my stuff there is no stock and no back ordering of very very common items and colors. I’m a Yankee and my bass fishing hard will kick in in a little while. But a lot of you guys more south it is kicking in now and a few of these place do not have the goods. BPS is a dog and pony show these days. They are nothing compared to what they were years ago. Referring to decent tackle suppliers. Some claim DICKS carries a lot. But may be regional thing. I believe it is a Covid thing. It is highly unlikely that Zoom Trick worms in Watermelon Red Fleck Magic is the hottest thing in the world right now. But I do believe that production rates at a place like Zoom and others were effected my Covid and not being essential workers.

1/4 oz. selection is terrible also.

Moderate success...
I think tomorrow on my way home from work in the morning I’m gonna dog off to a retention pond near work at the office park. Toss a few Rat-L-Traps and Rattlin’ Raps. I know there are bass in it. One of my BC setups I’m trying to make a finesse crankbait setup out of it. Just downsized to 8# Big Game on it. Will be a good trial run even if I don’t get a hit.

Berkley gulp?
I use some of the Gulp Worms. I like them but I like the Berkley stuff I use. I have a really shallow rectangular container that is liquid tight on the boat deck with that Gulp recharge solution in it. If I’m finished fishing a Gulp worm or fluke but know I’ll be picking it back up I leave it rigged up and lay it in that container and snap the lid shut. This keeps it fresh and in decent shape. The draw back of the Gulp stuff. Holds up good in the water or in the Gulp solution. Not in the air. You know that with the saltwater versions. I’m gonna try some of the saltwater flukes in freshwater. Had a post on it the other month. One local guy stocks them (all that Gulp stuff) and two of the shiner patterns looked great.

BBB craw tubes..
Like the looks of that. Been fishing tubes a long long time and never gave that any thought. Thanks for passing that on. Would be easy to do with the bigger tubes 3” or longer. ?
