Great post. Great idea. But I don’t have any input on BBBtubes. A lot of good tubes out there though.

I’m not gonna put it to a test or comparison with others, but Berkley soft plastics have always worked well for me. I use the heck out of the MaxScent Hit Worms. I believe it is a good product.

I’m probably one of the lighter tackle user on this site on a regular basis. I fish a lot of micro jigs, bitsy jigs, mini flipping jigs 1/8 oz. up to 1/4 or 5/16 oz. on a 7’ med. 3/8 or heavier are on a bait caster. I would not be fishing micro sized in Florida. Suitable here in NE.

I know, but I’ve be fishing those lite wire on the river for so long they are really all I know. And there is not a big market for those these days. At least on a local level. Than out here where I am big box stores suck for having what you want.

Personally I think both will hit them at anytime. I would think if the lake is predominantly a largemouth lake most likely ratio goes in favor of the largemouth. I fish a lake that has both. Primarily LM, I try to target the SM in areas that they are more likely to be but come up LM the majority of the time. Than again it’s probably me.

In my case it’s not a matter of trying to be cheap or anything but you take 4” PowerWorm versions or 4 1/2” & 5”RoboWorm straight tail or curley tails there’s not a lot of mass to the worm and huge (6# or 7#) Smallie potential is not there. I would not/do not fish those in a larger baits or areas where fish size are larger. But the gammy lite wire and tru-turns 1/0 and 2/0 have never let me down.

I fish on the fairly light side of my techniques. Don’t know, most likely because I’m a river rat for Smallies and think the finesse or smaller presentations is the way to fish. But anyway......... for soft plastic worms I’m pretty much rigged up on a Gammy light wire worm hook or a Tru-Turn worm hook and they are a bronze/steel. That worm salt attacks them pretty quickly. So I just pull them off when finished. But I do notice on larger baits and pitching and flipping hooks they are coated heavier.

The 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Trap is my primary lipless. All season bait size for me but I do upsize to the 1/2 oz. with great results. The bait is not twice the size. Slightly bigger.

I'll be kicking my bass season off on April 5th or 10th, have done some winter trout fishing and that will continue for a little while longer. I'll be skunked for a bass for a bit yet.

I ordered three back awhile ago but have not received them yet. They’ll come. Being the Rapala fanboy and user I am I thought I’d try a few for different water conditions. My expectations are that I think they will work. Rapalas flat out work for me. But I’ll never put them on any pedestal until we try. If they are half as good as a DT Series I’ll be happy. But I understand it’s a different bait with a different action. My pattern choices should work fine.

SC generally has not been that kind of company on naming things. Maybe just the series of rods. Might work out. Might not. Even the big SC fanboy I am, I’m a bit puzzled the last few years where they are going with their rods. Marketing is a big thing. Competition is huge. Personally I think they have too many of the same rod in just a different series. In their first few tiers of rods any one is not much if any difference in quality.

They will be back.

So many variation of those two colors. Anything that I’ve tried (not that many) away from the standard GP w/ black fleck and Watermelon w/ black fleck has worked. I might want to try the TW version green pumpkin. Because it is more in line with plain pumpkin seed. I have not problem rigging these slight variations. The all seem to produce.

Everyone has opinions. And this is the reason I think I like my brown copper lenses the most. Because they work in the sun and enhance when clouds roll in. They have a tendency to brighten things up. But this is just my opinion and the reason for brown lenses and like you I don’t want 5 pair.

I’m glad that worked out for you. I have not brought that up to optometrist and she has never ran it past me. Not sure how good of a candidate I am. I’ll ask. Thanks.

I have to wear corrective lenses (most of my life). I get brown polarized progressives in Columbia frames. That seem to be the ticket for me. They work great for sporting clays also. Wish I was lucky like y’all. A lot of options for you guys.

I hear that. I stay away from it so that I don’t become a head case about it. In the back of my mind I know it is a good pattern. I just can’t bring it from my mind to the end of my line. Orange in my patterns that’s a different story. Orange is not red. I might just pull my red crankbaits and revisit them for awhile this spring.

I try to reason with what is going on but I don’t know how to think like a fish. I guess and generally guess wrong. I try not to overthink it. If I was in and around grass and things are not working I switch to rock and a steeper incline and fish real slow. Tubes, grubs, craws and creatures. Fish them slow.

I really don't fish a Strike King finesse Worm but see they label a worm as a TW Green Pumpkin. TW's is more of a Pumpkin Seed. That range of pumpkinseed, green pumpkin and watermelon I'm always ready to throw. Leaning toward watermelon in clearer water but I might not see real clear water going toward fall. I use it in stained water.

On my way home from work I stopped and picked up a couple of spools and BC handle I’d ordered. The Zoom display was right there and had me thinking about this thread. I fish both the GP and Watermelon. Both with the black and a red fleck seem to work well along with a GP and purple fleck. I could not resist to pick up both GP and Watermelon Magic. Both have a gold fleck to them. Nothing new for sure. I’m sure I’ve just passed on them for years. Thought maybe the sun hitting that gold fleck might catch the eye of Mr. Bass. When I have my grandsons out with me none of us are throwing the same thing at any one time. Just another spin to colors that work well.

Right place at the right time. Plus add in your skill set. You deserve it.

I’d go buy a few new Warts and fish the heck out of them. Pick out a few colors that you like. Don’t let anything about the old warts get in your head. New warts, old warts, if you own both they both work.
