No man I’ve never been there. I’m a Yank from the northeast. I like the idea you are having about where the creeks are coming into the lake. We’ve been getting some long deserved rain. Friday we are suppose to get another good shot. I might give a couple Creek mouths a shot on Sunday. If water clarity is not way off I might as well stick to what I’ve been doing. I know nothing about the rods you already have. But willing to bet a St. Croix Premiere, Mojo or Bass X will do what you are trying to do. ML or Med. w/ fast or Xfast actions.

That is pretty sweet. I have an Engle cooler that size. Not the Live Bait version and love it. That’s real nice man. And that inner mesh liner is cool and eliminates a dip net. Great set up. Real professional.

I guess you hear it all the time but I’ve caught quite a few river smallies with your avatar over the years.

I never looked into it that much. Really don’t fish that heavy either. But would be interested in a lighter/smaller version. great fish!

Did you ever try using a topwater plug in the early fall at sun up? Pop-R’s, prop bait, chug bug? Perfect time of day for that nice one to hit. Those baits get their curiosity going early. That’s a bite you don’t want to miss. Over the years I’ve found the smallie bite window closes as early as 8:30 in the morning sometimes. Not to say you can’t catch one at noon.

Are you catching any greenies in the creek/river you fish? Not uncommon in slack areas with wood.

What type of system do you have to keep your shiners alive between trips?

What species of crawfish are you catching? Just curious. Many types.

Long end, short end. To me you tie at the radius. On a round split ring it’s all radius. I would not put my knot on the joint.

Some of my best times on the river was when storm sky was building and rain starts to a steady rain. I pull the plug prior to anything hazardous arrives.

On that site I was talking about some of the guys I had met and go to know were hardcore river bass guys. They called a spade a spade. I had to agree with them. Overall picture of that site was smaller. Here the guys are spread out quite a bit more. There a guys out there, local to you but on here often following you to a degree. For the most part it doesn’t mean cat crap. Just trying to get an edge. I’m hypothetically speaking. But you are a very proficient angler. And possibly some other body local could follow your content and try to better himself. They still have to catch the fish. A lot of them can’t catch a cold if truth be known.

Beware of the trolls. Plenty here. The regulars here are not. Y’all have the ability to find fish. Have the ability to find and make something work to catch them. A lot don’t. I‘ve seen the trolling take another bass site down. That site was full of good bass fisherman. Had get togethers at various locations. So you got to know each other if you wanted to. If you are into catch, photo and release. And you start flaunting pics around. Not too surprising some dude that never has been seen before is in your honey hole. I hate to be negative but it happens. Public water. But they are leaching off of your photos. So that nice photo of your 18”, 4 lb. bass, with carbon pattern Rapala jerkbait hanging from it lower jaw, pic taken off your boat deck on the water, with a pink and white vacation cottage with a flag on the dock along the shore at Lake TimBuckTo makes that spot somewhat easy to find for some leach. But it happens. Your hard work made it easy for someone. This is not the same as being helpful and informative to people who are trying to learn or get better. But I believe there are guys who feed off of some pics. Maybe I’m wrong. Sorry for being negative, I seriously don’t live to be like that. Especially when it comes to bass fishing.

I really appreciate your follow up. MN and OH are both states closer to me. Charts and graphs like that are cool when you are thinking about trying another pattern of soft plastics. Hard baits as well also. I was just throwing it out there in case OP was interested in doing any research. You done all his leg work for me. You are a good dude and are to be commended for that.

We’ve got some nice rainfall over the last couple of days. Not flooding. Not anticipating any big rise in lake levels but that ok. For the most part surface temps in the lower 60’s. Still catching some respectable fish. But I am fishing for that 6 lb’r until I can’t get out anymore this season. Caught a 2# and a 2 3/4# fish Sunday. Real healthy fish. But common and expected the places I fish. Fishing creatures and grubs. Threw a spinnerbait for awhile no luck. I throw small spinnerbaits for the most part. That could be downside???? Feel a sick day coming on before Friday. More rain coming in. Temps will start dropping of now.

If I had to go catch a bass and my life depended on it, the Berkley Power Worm might be my choice. Leaning toward the 4” version over the 7” worm. It’s a shame Berkley doesn’t carry a few baits that were part of their line up 20 years ago. I think they should bring some of their old baits back and MaxScent them. I don’t fish them like I use to. But they will get you a bass when other soft plastics are getting ignored. Good choice.

Hey dude this may be something interesting to you. Should be an easy search. The state of Alabama DNCR or their wildlife commission puts out a poster of all their crawfish. What I remember of seeing it, it was pretty cool and color patterns were very interesting. I stumbled upon it back some time ago when trying to figure what a particular color was suppose to be. Not trying to be a smart ***. I think this is truly up your alley. Being into craws the way you are this would be interesting and educational. If you were to do a search of like Alabama Craw, what color is Alabama Craw, Alabama Crawfish Poster. You’ll find it. I take it you are Ohio but who cares. Still educational.

Than you have to hold up from popping him because the ramifications will be steep against you. Not against him (the harasser) but you. Might not be able to fish that property pond anymore. Call the game warden. Glad you kept a cool head. Maybe he’ll choke to death on the spiney needle bones on those bluegills.

I use them year round also. I believe all the chatter about how they are meant for cold water. But have caught many of Smallies and Greenies from the time I start my season until I pull the plug on my season. Muskies love they also. Never caught a huge one on one yet. And luckily have not lost many due to musky hitting them. I don’t see all the hype that surrounds them with the colder water but I believe there must be something to it. If you have a pattern that is pretty productive I’d try to find it in a jointed version also. I throw that as a change up once and a while and it produces fish.

Here where I fish in Penna. I just really try to keep it real. I don’t set the bar at 10 lbs. for a largemouth, I feel I can’t. Every time out I’m fishing for the 6 lb.+ Bass. I fish to better my personal best. Unless you’re fishing a private pond or pay lake 10 lb. is going to be tough. On one of my home spots I have that bar set at 8 lbs., last season I feel a fish I lost was 7 lbs. It threw that no. 7 Shad Rap I had on like it was spitting out a piece of bubble gum. If I were to take a trip down south where 10 lb’r are common In an area that I can set that bar to. Well that what I would be fishing for. So up here where I fish, if I hook that 7 lb’r it would be like he was 10 pounds but really he is 7 pounds.

I would get some cb’s in the size and weight you intended. Sell them hold on to the whatever but if you downsize there are plenty of options available. I do a lot of crankbait fishing but a lot lighter. 3/4 oz. I probably top out at. Low end 1/4 oz. I cover this with a few rods. Good luck in your search, good fishing.
