We blast off at sunrise and have a 4:30 PM weigh-in. Way too long but that is what the club members want. On two-day tournaments, we blast off at sunrise and weigh-in at 2:30 PM. This is easier on knees and lower back. Us old guys have suggested an earlier weigh-in but we were out voted so we have ten (10) hour tournaments.

Try the Kut Tail Worms by GY, too. The *** and Slider worms work good, too. I also like the #2 hook although a gold #1 works great. Be sure to run the line back through the hook's eye from the front of the hook so the hook will stand straight out. I usually put hook 8 to 12 inches above sinker. Lots of fun to fish. And you will be surprised at the types of fish that will hit the rig, too.

Nope. As far as I know, they all do that. My Lowrance 322-C does that and it is an expensive unit. I was told that air bubbles cause the readings to be off and you have to slow down to have the unit reset itself. So don't worry about it but try to stay under 70 MPH to be safe.

First, so glad you and Jason are OK. Remember, Jason is supposed to be nearby when the happy moment arrives due to the terrible traffic he and his wife may encounter on the way to the hospital so maybe Jason was sent a message from above. Second, I am sorry to hear about your losses. It could have been worse and please be thankful that you and Jason are OK. You can replace your tackle but we can't replace you and Jason. The BPS south of Ashland is opening at the end of September or early October and I am waiting for their sales before I venture out to get new rods and reels, etc. So if you can wait, maybe you can hit the sale and get more for your money. Once again, I am very glad you guys are OK. Terrible story but with a happy ending - you guys are OK. P.S. You can get your grandchild a nice gift, too, like an All Star rod and a Shimano reel. Yes! Even the two-inch Senkos I have (not produced any longer, as far as I know) catch nice size bass. There is always a place for a 3-inch and a 4-inch Senko along with the larger 5-inch and 6-inch versions. Fish them Texas or Wacky rigged.

Yes, peg your weight when fishing cover. You can put weight up against eye hook and the head of the worm or as stated use a glass bead between the eye hook and the weight. A pegged sinker will not get hung up as easily as one what moves along your line.

Everyone has their philosophy on color selections. Some are within the guidelines of the professionals while others are out of the box. Please secure Dr. Keith Jones' book, Knowing Bass, The Scientific Approach to Catching More Fish. Or see what Uncle Homer Circle says about colors in Bass Wisdom. And good ole Al Linder shares his thoughts in Largemouth Bass. Water clarity, sunlight, depth, forage and vegetation all play roles in color selection. But to make it easy, watermealon and green pumpkin, with or without black flake are good for plastics; firetiger for river cranks; shad for lake cranks; white and chart. for spinnerbaits; blue/black for jigs; and pink and white for trick worms. Everyone has an opinion so hold on and read what the guys tell you. Everyone is correct and then again, everyone is wrong depending on the above mentioned factors.

University of Alabama Evacuated Dr. Robert E. Witt, President of the University of Alabama, has evacuated all students and staff from the campus in Tuscaloosa. Dr. Witt is asking anyone associated with the university to gather all personal effects and head toward Mississippi and Louisiana. The reason he gives is that he has heard reports that the Russians have invaded Georgia and he expects they will move into Alabama shortly.
