  1. This is why I always ask here cause the responses I get always help me u guess I'm gonna get a rod after all at the fishing classic I was a little put our by bps rod choices lately even cabelas has more choices which was shocking to me but hey saving 20/30$ I'm not gonna argue with I never had a st croix before and was gonna get the avid x would that he a better choice or is the mojo a better choice for the price point and all that
  2. Thanks guys I forgot to mention the user of tubes I'm actually embarrassed ha but that's what I needed to hear cause i mean it will be uses for 98% soft plastic with occasional hardbait so it sounds like that's the rod then luckily bps has spring fishing classic about to kick off so I can do a rod trade in
  3. Since I always get well informed answers on here thought I'd try again I'm on the hunt for a new spinning rod for light tw light Texas rigs 1/8oz weights etc and other finesse applications for skinny Creek and river sm I was looking at the mojo bass 6'8 m/xf and was wondering if I could use that not only for the whacky rig as listed but also the presentation I mentioned above or would the 6'10 ml be better choice I held the rods and they felt pretty good with the stradic fk 2500 I have
  4. See I feel the same way their rods have just haven't been up to par and I don't know if that's because them owning g loomis or what but I sure do love they reels I guess back to the idea board in a rod I've heard mixed feelings about the zodias they look really nice thoufg
  5. What do you guys think about the new and also redesigned shimano rods I'm kinda liking the looks of exage but I really want to get a crucial spinning rod but of course that's like finding Jimmy. Hoffa was wondering what everyone thinks. About the new rods
  6. I can't rely chime in here but I'm glad I read this I was looking at the ltb in 6'8 and wasn't sure if to get ml or M cause I heard about the power ratings of them so it sounds like my best bet would be the ml
  7. I usually use medium action and have a 7ft carbonlite but the new series just aren't the same and I fish the Susquehanna so that sums. It is. Nicely and there's been multiple times I've hooked into. Musky believe it or. Not but I went to fs website and Sadly they're full. Price I'm gonna go to the store and hopefully get lucky cause the length power and action to me sounds perfect for what I want. To. Use it fkr
  8. It helps. A lot fellas thank you I saw Tenoroc and Saddle creek also being good places I was at a tackle. Shop event recently and stocked up on gambler ez in. June bug Florida special and shiner hoping those will. Help draw a big bite this tie of year I'm used to slow dragging and jerk baits up here so it will be a nice change
  9. Wait are you serious I have a fs store 10 minutes away and I've been looking at dobyns too there's too many choices out right now is so hard to choose
  10. I've heard mixed emotions about the gl series cause I was looking into those ones I think my biggest problem is trying to narrow down to one and the thing to find one that feels right with the stradic fk 2000 size
  11. As the title says on the hunt for new spinning rod for river /narrow creek sm fishing mainly throw light plastics and some times baby torpedoes on it looking at ex6 MOJO or maybe avid x but powell looks nice anyone with any good suggestions I'm. 12. You took. The words out of my mouth that's exactly what I do and I want something a tad shorter then 7' cause narrow areas and mainly throwing baits no more then 3/8 at least on spinning tackle thank you guys both for the advice something about it just stood out and perfectly a local tackle shop. Has Mark Zona shimano g loomis reps and a few others for a event so I'll might get myself a belated gift
  13. That's how I feel honestly I really do like buying in country and "small business" some of my favorite baits are from small business and I feel like If it made it tw then there has to be some qa I might give them a shot when u had down to FL in a few months thanks for the input fellas
  14. This might already be in here but I was on tw and saw this new company and for the price I'm. Kinda Iffy of the overall quality of them so my question is has anyone ever used or bought any and how do they hold up (especially line)
  15. So I'm looking for a new multi purpose finesse spinning rod for shallow skinny water smallmouth and was looking at the ex6 I like the 6'8-6'10 but obviously one is drop shot other regular spinning so my question is which one would you choose and does the mag m power helpful or gimmick
  16. So I'm from up in PA and I'm no stranger to both lm and sm but I have a few questions about bass fishing in lithia area u was down in summer and didn't bring all my gear but brought top water swim baits soft plastics etc and long story short maybe it was ponds maybe me but no matter what I threw I didn't get a bite even in diff colors I'm going back down in Florida so my question is where is goos fishing around there (I heard Lakeland so trying there) but was curious about closer areas around lithia and what styles of baits and colors seem to work the best for that area cause I'm shopping all my gear down and making a trip to bass pro while I'm there if I need to grab anything else
  17. i was thinking of building my own spinning rod and i was looking through the mud hole catalog and i have a question about the skeleton reel seats is there anyway i can have the top of the blank a little more covered kinda like the bps carbonlite rod becuase thats the only thing ive been hearing is with the skeleton reel seat for spinning rods is the wrist issues so i was wondering is there anyway i could put something in between the reel seat so i can have some of the blank covered and only have a small area covered? like a full arbor or something? any tips suggestions would be great thanks
  18. thats what i was worried about my next question is how does the tube dipping rod work exactly i tried to find some stuff online but i really couldnt find anything do you dip it into the mixture or?
  19. well the kicker is theyre craw papi and paca craw which both have a hollow portion in the body
  20. i was wondering how hard is it to copy an exsisting soft plastic bait and make a hard master of it to make molds? because theres a few crawfish style baits i would love to have copies off and be able to make a lot of them
  21. whats the ned rig? and i mean even though its primarily pretty slow moving where i fish the drop shot is still kinda tough since im wading and not to mention the d**n rock bass and blue gill always trying to run with it
  22. thats the thing i always use prettty much the same style baits ie craws worms senkos topwater hard baits and some hard jerk baits but i feel like i can get some more fish from soft plastic jerk and swim baits
  23. thanks the reason i asked is because on bps i was looking at the pad crasher jr and thought due to the size of their mouths that might be the perfect size frog to toss at them
  24. im having a tough time trying to figure out what is a few good color options for soft plastic jerkbaits and swimbaits so anyone who fishes smallies in criks or rivers please chime in i mainly fishing green pumpkin due to it matching much of the bottom forage but having a tough time trying to figure out a good all around color options or options for those style baits
