no matter how you say......make no mistake, they are bought and paid for. no doubt he was thinking with the wrong head. He has a expectation of privacy for any conversation between him and another person in that setting . I would tend to think it is an easy defense. Granted the NBA has used it against him due it being made public, but it is the way it is obtained and released that is the kicker, and cant be used against him. If I go on a racist rant here in the public boards I am fried...... but if I do it in a consenting personal phone call to another board member, it cant be used against me in message board dealings.

Flyfisher I figured it was like an HOA deal, thanks for explaining that because I didnt know exactly how it worked. but I dont see how him telling his girlfriend (that he bought and paid for) to stay away from his players (that he bought and paid for) is the league's business. I would be interested to see how it plays out in court..... because if he had a reasonable expectation of privacy during the conversations then they will not be able to use it against him, right or wrong.

snook, I agree with the Silver did it to save himself. but I think the two instances are different...... Robertson is a contracted employee and the business (A&E) can let him go for anything at anytime Sterling OWNS the business, who can strip the onwer of ownership rights? granted he would probably lose tone of money in sponsorship but that is Sterlings issue and nobody elses....... this is a great parrelle to Chick-fil-a..... as both owns the joint and can do whatever they want. now if the NBA wants to interject the whole "league code of conduct" then they need to enforce it on their players as well.......and I dont see that happening. again all I want is the knife to cut both ways. people want to make this ALL about race and it really isnt, IMO.

that is correct.......warning: if you buy it from another state you are going to need the orginal MSO to get the trailer titled....so make sure whoever you buy it from has it..... unless you are buying an Arkansas boat then its all good.

yeah......... bill of sale, proof of insurance(if you have a lien holder), and receipt saying you paid your taxes. not too bad, since we only title trailers here. every time I have gone to title mine I had to track down the original MSO, now that's a pain! I have bought and sold boats in or to TN and OK and it was a pain dealing with those states because they don't title trailers, ect ect.

Teal, I get that........and we agree on much...... but if the NBA is going to get all high and mighty then maybe they should hired some blacks in the front office, have more black owners, lower the ticket prices because you know there are mostly whites in the stands...... or force teams to have short fat white guys on the team in fairness...... where do you stop it? of course I don't agree with any of that because it lessens the league as a whole......... and so does forcing an owner out. if the Clippers lose sponsors, that is a Clippers issue not a NBA issue. the NBA is a market driven trade just like anything else...... yet everyone wants to inject opinion and emotion into it. if the NBA is really concerned with image...... maybe they should ban tattoos and the language their players use. I think he was trying to keep it in private............ he did have a reasonable expectation of privacy, whether he knew it was taped it or not....... if he didn't know it was being taped then he has a grief for lawsuit. who released the tapes???? That is the question I have, and why was the conversation being taped??

who cares what he said........ he still should be able to own the team. if the players are that offended they will demand a trade if the fans are that upset they will not attend the games. the market will decide. thank God we lived in a market driven country, until today. I guess the NBA has some weird franchise deals...............how can they ban/strip ownership of a person who privately owns something? my point is this........ since it is clear the NBA picks and chooses who gets to own what...... and following that logic It is clearly the NBA that are the racists, since they have only "allowed" one black man to own a team.

depends on what you title........ In Arkansas we only title trailers..... other states are different. you can always apply for a bonded title, if the title is needed. but it always varies state to state. your best bet is to stop by your local DMV and ask them.
