Moreau Baits 3" Topwater Frog
I'm that crazy guy, but only paid 50$ for mine because I bought it direct from Moreau. This is not a mass produced plastic bait that come from a mold, these are hand made and are absolutely beautiful baits and they take lot of labor to produce. It has a large profile for a 3" bait and I'm very impressed with it in the water when I gave it a test swim. While it's not for everyone I sometimes buy baits like this to have something different to show the fish as I already have several proven selections/ colors of your conventional spook/ popper style baits. Also, this came very highly reccomended to me from another angler who had a lot of success with this bait and Moreau's 4" Walking Bluegill bait which I've bought as well. We are getting into prime topwater season up here in SW Michigan where I live and these baits will certainly get a lot of looks from the fish in my area. I will follow-up after the fish give me their feedback.

I Hate To Be A Complainer
I had a very difficult time logging on to this website when the format changed. I was so irratated I gave up for good, the only reason I tried again is that another member was nice enough to add me as a friend so I tried again. The same password that I've been using the website refused to recognize, I thought this was an entertainment website instead of some top secret deal. I want it to be easy to log in not a pain in the you no what, because it wouldn't accept my password the site sent me a new one which is some crazy 14 digit number that I would never pick for myself. So when I went to the page that is meant for changing your password back to the one I wanted it wouldn't let me do it. Then when I went to the friend part of the website that part wouldn't work either. It looks like my particapation is going to have to be as a reader because I'm not typing in a 14 digit number every time.

jerk baits??????????
I would start with a few Husky Jerks & X Raps as others have suggested good choices for someone new to this lure category. That said one you get your first Lucky Craft Pointer you'll want more.

any opinions on backstabber cranks ?
I bought 2 recently from a local tackle shop, I haven't tried them yet but I have a small lake in mind near me with a lot of underwater stumps where this might really shine.

reaction strike fathead jr
Tried them a few years back, was not impressed. My favorite is made by Pro Swimbaits, Basstrix is another excellent choice.
-
megabass trick darter
You will love this bait, my favorite when the bass won't hit the larger jerkbaits.

Let's talk Cranking Rods.
I've been fishing the 7'6" MH telescopic BPS Crankin' Stick for about 3 years and been very pleased. Handles DD22's and other deep divers with no problem and it allows for very long cast which is essential when fishing deep divers.

Smelly Jelly VS JJ Magic
I've used Smelly Jelly for several years, been very happy with it.

picked up hud swimbaits
Question for Hammer4 or anyone else who has used the 6" weedless Hud, how is the hooking ratio and do you have a preferred method to increase it? The reason I ask is because I have a couple of them but haven't fished it yet but it seems from the design that it would be more difficult to land fish with the weedless Hud than most other baits.

tru tungsten swimbait
I like the 5" Bluegill color, I have it weighted as a fast sink. Nice bait for the money.

Question on Sebile Soft Magic Swimmer
I picked up a few packs this winter but I haven't had a chance to fish it yet while I'm waiting for the ice to go away in a week or so. Plan on throwing it this spring, if anyone's fished this bait I'm curious to what you think of it and if you've had success along with preferred rigging and retrieves. It looks like it would be effective fishing it like a soft jerkbait as well as a slow swim, am I on the right track? Thanks

Matzuo Hardbaits
I bought a couple of their crankbaits a few years back and you could not tune them and they looked terrible in the water, I've never bought anything from them since then.

Line Choice for Lipless Cranks
Most of the time I throw it on a 7' M action BPS Crankin' Stick with 12 lb Floro.

Which worm floats best for a shaky head?
I prefer Roboworm, floats nicely and most importantly puts a lot of fish in the boat.
-
Never caught anything on this lure...
I've done very well with the DT10, as long as it's not a defective one it should produce.
-
Preferred plastic for a carolina rig?
Baby Brush Hog or Tube. When the bit is tough I'll go to a finnese worm or French Fry worm.

3:16 Lure Company
So far my collection consist of a Floating Herring, Wake Jr & Baby Wake.
-
Name your jerk-bait
A lot of good ones mentioned, my most productive the last couple of years has been the Ima Flit. The Megabass Trick Darter will put 'em in the boat when the going gets tough.
-
Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad
If you like the Storm, try the River to Sea Live Eye Bottom Walker it's more consistent has a better action in my opinion.

3:16 Lure Company
On their hard baits they no longer take orders from what I understand. When they have a bait ready to go they put them on sale and usually within a few minutes they are sold out. Check their site often if you want one. Their soft baits can be ordered at any time, the Rising Son, Bluegill & Mission Fish are popular baits.

matt lure
Speedbead just got my order as well, extremely impressed. If they swim as good as they look I can't see how any bass can turn this bait down.
-
strike king red eye shad
Why did you have to mention the Bluegill color ? That one was killer for me last year, I also do very well on the Mojarra color.
-
strike king red eye shad
Very good bait, I have dozens of them.

Keitech jigs???
They are not the kind of jig designed for heavy rods/ braid etc. I throw mine with 8 or 10 lb Floro on a small Curado 101D reel on a Loomis BCR 852 rod , never had a problem sticking fish, hooks bending or bringing them to the boat. It's has a light weedguard and I use this as a casting jig and it's done very well for me. It also has quality hand tied skirts and a compact tungsten head.
