  1. Here are a few... 7" & 9" MS Slammers River to Sea 6" Live Eye Bottom Walker Matt's Hard Bluegill Strike King -King Shad 5" Tru Tungsten 6" Spro BBZ
  2. I'm not sure why but I haven't done real well with this bait, maybe I used it at the wrong time etc. but I seem to do better on other jerkbaits. I will reccomend the Ima Flit for anyone who's willing to pay for it.
  3. Good looking bait, look forward to trying it out next spring.
  4. I've done well with Spiderwire Stealth, also has a decent price.
  5. I'm from Battle Creek and have met and talked to KVD several times, he will usually pop in a D& R sports and do a couple of seminars late winter when cabin fever is killing us and he will also pop up at some of the local fishing shows. Already a lot of great suggestions on dropshots, I will mention a good bait for me is wacky rigging a 3" Senko/ Dinger type of bait. If fishing for smallmouths in the Great Lakes, Detroit River etc. many guys have cashed a lot of checks using Poor Boys Darters & Gobies along with a lot of the smaller Gulp baits. Obviously a great place to use a drop shot is Gull Lake if you happen to fish over there.
  6. I have a few of these little guys, remember catching bass on 12 straight cast one time with this bait in a Baby Bass color a few years back and has been mentioned panfish will slurp 'em up. Good numbers bait but I haven't used it in a while because it seemed to attract to many small fish. That said it's good to have a few if there is a tough bite.
  7. That sums it up for me, whenever I try anything else I end up being disapointed.
  8. I would like to see more soft baits offered in the Smoke Purple color. Regarding hard baits the old Excalibur Fat Free Guppy with the transluscent side, internal flash insert which I believe was called the "Advantage" series is an excellent fish catcher and I only have 2 left. :-[
  9. Still throwing the Zoom Centipedes, great for a tough bite. I like using them on a Mojo rig and also rigged sideways & rear nail weighted so it will glide backwards when you lift it.
  10. Zoom Speed Craw is my favorite.
  11. Yozuri makes one of the best lipless baits out there, terrific deal. I've also done well with their Ghost color.
  12. Forgot about the LuckyCraft Live Pointer, very disapointing bait.
  13. Roboworm 6" Fat Straight Tail worm has been my favorite so far.
  14. To anyone discouraged by the Storm swimbaits try the River to Sea Live Eye Bottom Walker, close to Storms price and a much better bait in my opinion. I caught some very nice fish on them this summer.
  15. I haven't caught anything on the 4" Spro BBZ, but the 6" BBZ has been productive and I've just ordered a couple of more to add to the arsenal.
  16. 3/4 oz. Blade Baits like the Vibe E are effective when the water is cold, I'm catching quality & quantity with water temps in the low 40's. Great suggestion by Roadwarrior on the sworming hornet combo, put fish in the boat for me on a couple tough days on a highly pressured lake. Also, try some 6" soft bodied swimbaits, this size gets plenty of bites and can attract the big bite. Though swimbaits are slowly catching on there are many out there that still don't have the confidence to fish them.
  17. Nice Deal @ BassTackle Depot as well, I placed an order with both of them stocking up on some swimbaits.
  18. In addition to what's already been mentioned get a few 6" River to Sea Live Eye Bottom Walker, excellent bait for the money. This one sinks real fast and is a good one when the water is warmer and the fish like a little extra tail kick. I haven't used the 8" yet but I'm going to get a few for 2011.
  19. Saw a post on the Swimbait Nation forum and guys were complaing about the rods breaking.
  20. Berkely Powerworm is my favorite of the ones I tried so far.
  21. Speedbead nailed it in my opinion as he said get both, I've had fun throwing mine and look forward to getting a few more.
  22. I'm still new to swimbaiting but I've been happy throwing soft swimbaits in the 2 oz. range using 20 lb XPS Floro. The other rod I use has 20 lb mono for wake baits, Matt's Gills etc. The 3rd rod ( Roque SB 806C for 2-10 oz baits) which I'm using next year for heavy baits like 8" Hudds, I haven't decided for sure what I'm going to use but I'm leaning toward 25 lb XPS Floro for that set-up. Regarding Yozuri Hybrid 20 lb should be good for the baits you plan on throwing. If you are using 1 rod for these type of baits it would be versatile enough for both hard & soft baits in that size range.
  23. What are some of your favorite profiles out of Dichoso baits if you don't mind me asking ?
  24. If your biggest baits are in the 2 oz. range you could try a BPS Extreme flipping stick which they offer in a telescopic model. I used it this summer with 20 lb Floro spoooled on a Curado 301 and it did a great job throwing the 6" River To Sea Live Eye Bottom Walker which weighs about 2 ozs, the rod could handle a little heavier bait in my opinion if need be. The price is also very reasonable.
  25. I've never had one break on me but most of the natural lakes that I fish don't have submerged stumps as I'm usually ripping these baits off of grass or hitting bottom. I could see where the thin lip of this bait could be susceptible to breakage but it's a big reason the bait has such a steep dive curve. Perhaps this is a good option for guys fishing grass lakes but it appears there are better options if fishing submerged stumps. For me the DT10 & DT6 have been very productive baits and I'm looking forward to adding some of the new colors to my crankbait arsenal.
