  1. I agree, I really like my Revo SX, but I think my Lews Tourney Pro is definately a cut above.
  2. Yeah my local wal-mart has stepped it up too, good to see that, they seem to be getting some better tackle as well.
  3. Actually, the SX has the same spool, but the STX does have other good upgrades, it's worth the step up IMO. The SX is no slouch though, looks really slick with a black rod as well.
  4. Gotcha. I mistook that for some kind of a Shimano elitist reply, there seems to be a lot of that around. Yeah, I definately think mixing it up and trying different products is the way to go.
  5. Believe it or not, there are better reels out there than Shimanos.
  6. I'll never again use the USPS to send anything important, just recently they delivered a letter I even had sent certified to the wrong address, idiots. Fortunately the folks who received it by mistake were decent enough to forward it to the correct address. They're every bit as efficient as you'd expect from an organization that hemorrhages billions of dollars a year.
  7. I'll add my thanks as well!
  8. Great deal, congrats! Thats a good reel, I like mine a lot.
  9. I'd go with the RRA, my RRA M4 has been good to me, and I have plans to buy another. I've handled and shot bushys and DPMS', and I feel an RRA is a step up from either for sure.
  10. TW still has a Falcon Wendlandt Shakey Head Rod on sale 50% off.
  11. I like my Kimber CDPII Compact for carry, hard to beat the slimness of a 1911 for IWB carry IMO.
  12. I love the look of the Supreme XT, I'm gonna pick up one of those very soon.
  13. Earlier this year I went fishing with my Father to a small pond we'd never fished before, I had no idea what, if anything, was even in it. I just started out tossing a little 1/8th ounce Orange Rooster Tail to see if I could maybe catch a couple bluegill, I think I caught one Bluegill, then a couple little Largemouths, and then a big 6lber nailed that little rooster tail. I couldn't believe it, that fish shattered my old PB.
  14. TW has Daiwa Fuegos on sale at around $160. I don't own one, but it looks darn good to me at that price.
  15. Tempting, I would like to see why there's so much hype with this reel.
  16. Great job, that was a real fast upgrade. Now it looks a lot more like the other forums I frequent, I like it.
  17. A few weeks back, I decided I'd take advantage of the TW sale on Falcon Wendlandt Caras, and I ended up buying three of the casting models. I've been so delighted with them, earlier today I decided to grab a couple spinning models as well, at $100 TYD, these rods are just awesome.
  18. Yeah the finese jig model would be perfect, but TW sold out of them. I've got the finese jig and all purpose and I think they're fairly close.
  19. The All Purpose would be best for your intended use because of the fast tip.
  20. Yes, like BF said, unless you're in heavy cover, MH is fine, good hooksets won't be a problem. The Wendlandt is also a better rod, very sensitive.
  21. I wouldn't pass up the Wendlandt for a bucoo, especially at nearly the same price. The Wendlandt is a Cara blank, that's Falcons best blank, same guides as a Cara as well. TW still has the 6'6 MH all purpose Wendlandt, it's a great worm rod IMO, that's primarily what I use mine for, seems like a MH should be plenty.
  22. If you can stretch your budget a little, look at a Falcon Wendlandt currently on sale at *** for $99 TYD. MSRP on most of them is about $190 IIRC, they are a steal at $99. I know it's a bit beyond your price range, but in the long run I think you'd be a lot happier, these rods are excellent.
  23. Palomar for lures/hooks and uni-uni for leaders are all I know, and all I need to know.
