  1. x 1000 on the Mustad hooks. I upsize like he said, and dont hang up any more often than I did with standard hooks.
  2. Look like they would be good on a dropshot.
  3. Carolina rig with a long leader. Kinda hard to cast, but it works. I guess you could long line it as well, to cover a bigger area. You could use pretty much any crank you wanted to then.
  4. I think its more a confidence thing. I throw darker colors regardless of the water, or weather. Is say pick a color or two from each end of the spectrum and fish em. Tight lines.
  5. Happy Easter, and welcome.
  6. Storm wiggle wart, they where on sale at bps. I picked up 4 of em for like $3.00 each.
  7. I would try the scent myself. Not only will they hold a bit longer, but it lubricates the plastic. I like a medium heavy for my single hook rigs.
  8. Good lookin jig!
  9. Amen Brother, and prayers for fast healing!
  10. My last tournament of the season is at Carlyle tomorrow. Can't seem to find any LM. Plenty of white bass. Tried a few creeks, but the lake is low. Any help would be great. Thanks
  11. Good ole rattle trap. #2 KVD hooks. Been doing great with chrome blue back.
  12. I've been using the KVD hooks on my lipless cranks. Size #2, and will never use anything else. Fish stay hooked. Need pliers to get most off. You would have to hook something pretty heavy duty to straighten them out. Hope this helps.
  13. All you need to collapse the piston on your brakes is a c- clamp. Put the old pad over the piston, and use the clamp to collapse it. Hope that helps brother.
  14. Love my Humminbird 597 hd Di. Got it at BPS for $690. Spend the extra $99 and get the Navionics chip. It's a great setup, and easy to install.
  15. My wife likes to fish too. It's just hard to get out when you have three kids. One of whom is a newborn. She would actually like to tourney fish she told me!
  16. Thanks to everyone for the tips. It was a terrible day. Water was 80 and muddy. 15 mph winds, along with the pleasure boat traffic really had things churned up. Threw my entire tackle box , and couldn't buy a keeper. Would only bite on a chrome shad rap. Winning bag was just over 6 lbs. Big fish 1.96 lbs. The guy that won spent the entire day at the sea wall at Lithia Springs. Crankbait and a fluke. Oh well, any day you catch fish is a good day. Thanks again, Mike
  17. Sure will buddy. Was a little worried, but getting pumped about it now.
  18. Thanks Joe. Bass Resource rocks!
  19. I tried last Sunday in Coon and opposum. Didn't get anything but short fish. Did better in main lake coves. Tried going deep too. Couldn't find anything. Would hate to get blanked this weekend. That's why I'm looking for the help. Be nice if I could find some vegetation or something. Everything is so bare.
  20. Thanks Kelly. I'll give it a shot. Mike
  21. Hi, and welcome. If you have the time to practice a little, get a baitcaster. You have a lot more control when casting. Also a quieter entry into the water. You can usually get a Berkeley combo pretty cheap. After learning to use it, you won't regret it.
  22. Nice fish! Thanks for the help. I just fish a small club, but am 4 th in points. Thanx, Mike
