  2. I was 38 when i joined my first club. Didn't have a boat, and had never fished out of a boat. I did my homework and fished hard. Watched what the other guys like a hawk and learned a ton. Not to mention the friends I made. Believe me it's well worth it. The oldest way of mastering something. Find someone who has what you want. Learn what they know. Go do the work. Jump in and have fun!
  3. Spooks in the morning when the shad are worked up. Really like 10in worms and jigs after thw topwater bite slows.
  4. Check out Temple Fork Outfitter. I bought one last spring and love it.
  5. I like the big bite baits squirrel tail worms. My go to shakey worm.
  6. I've been using the San Diego jam knot for a few years now. Have never had a problem. No matter what knot you use make sure you check it often if your fishing in the gnarly stuff.

  13. I've been using the San Diego jam for about a year now. Is a lot quicker to tie and haven't had a break yet (that i didnt force because of a snag.) Not sure about doubling at the eye. Maybe someone else will have an answer on that. Hope this helps.
  14. Check the Kentucky lake guide reports. I've found them to be pretty reliable for conditions as well as lure tips to at least get you started.
  15. Just wait, with the new common core you will want to beat your head into the wall. That's why we home school.
  16. Click on the Mega Strike link and check out the ShakE2 heads.
  17. It may be your knot. I had trouble with that as well when I first started using fluoro. Make sure your everything is laying correctly before tightening. Be sure its wet wet wet! Practice tying at home a bit so you will have it down. It will make things easier and faster out on the lake.
  18. I've got the Dobyns 795 sb and love it. It's perfect for what your throwing.

  20. They are a great search bait. I like a stop and go retrieve most of the time.
  21. Texas rig is good. If your not getting bit on the bottom, I like a weightless worm. I usually use the strike king xxx worms, and just twitch it above the weeds.
