I dont really know if you would consider it that big, but I throw a 10" worm pretty much all the time. Only time I go smaller is a senko, or for a shakey head.
  2. We use to fish for em with worms, leeches, or chicken livers. They eat about the same stuff as a catfish. I used 50 lb braid, with a med. heavy rod. A lot of fun to catch. Make sure you take pliers, they will get ya!
  3. Sammy Hagar "Rock and Roll Weekend". Local radio station would play it at 6pm every Fri. night to kick off the weekend. No matter what was going on, at 6 on Fri. the radio was cranked.
  4. Another Highland guy here. Welcome!
  5. Hey, another Highland guy here. Welcome!
  6. Looked last night, and you are right. Was thinking of my quantum. As for the above, yes you backlash with all lines. But the 100% fluro tends to kink and bind due to it being stiffer than others.
  7. Heading down to Golconda this weekend. Anybody been fishing there lately?
  8. I just keep cutting. Most revos have a little button on the side. Push it, rotate the side plate, and it will come off. Then the spool will slide out. Dont want to bad rap a company, but I cant stand that brand of fluro. Try some Vicious Elite. Its much easier to deal with. Get some line conditioner too. You will love fluro once you fish it a while. Good luck.
  9. I have had luck with a spook in clear water. Visibility was between 6 and 8 ft. All I usually throw is the bone color. Confidence is half the battle.
  10. I use a reloadable gift card. Link it to paypal, and my bank account never gets involved.
  11. Check out Huddleston, 316, Jerry Rago, and Matt lures. They are some good brand names. You usually fish swimbaits on heavier equipment and line. I started off with a flippin stick. Points, humps, ridges, and channels are good places to fish them, but you can fish them any place. Good luck, but be careful. Once you catch the swimbait bug it can get expensive!
  12. Rattle trap, Chrome sexy shad.

I USE 3/16 about 98% of the time. If its really windy, or deep water I'll go 3/8. Not a lot of punching situations in most of the places I fish. I do have a few heavy weights just in case.
  14. Texas rig. 1/8 is plenty that shallow.
  15. Contracts man!
  16. Well we had a rough day. 12 lb. Won it. I ended up without a keeper. Guy that won it was pitching a jig to sea walls.
  17. Trick worm will do it all.
  18. Thanks bwell, I will definitely start there. I was looking at that point on the map. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again, Mike
  19. Hey Guys, my bass club is having a tournament at Springfield this weekend. I've never been up there, so was looking for some tips. Maybe a starting spot? Thanks in advance for any help, Mike
  20. Get yourself some berkley power worms, and Texas rig em. My favorite color is blue fleck. When I can't get a bite, that's my go to bait. Just fish em super slow. Good luck.
  21. Leaves can be a problem also.
  22. Great vidio. I started tournament fishing a few years ago. Just small local clubs. But I love the competition, and have met some great people. I learned that the little extra you spend on quality components pays off with more fish in the boat. So give it a try. Tight lines.
