For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Hey guys I have a question that I should probably know the answer to. A friend asked me about this and I told him I didn't know but will find out. I know you need a permit to use the southern most west ramp at la cygne, but what about the other two? Thanks

Blue, you can tentitively count me in as a non-boater. Depends on if I have any thing going on with school that weekend. I would really like to go though. As my name says, I'm Drew.

Yes those are the ones I am talking about. Blue, you gave me some info on tips about the pits but looking at them I really don't know where to set up camp. When you went down there, where did you stay? Also, if anyone else has advice on the pits, feel free to share. It is much appreciated.

Hey congrats Salenity on the nice fish! Maybe this is a sign that the will start biting again at the state lake. My fiancee and I are planning on going camping Friday-Sunday for my birthday. The problem is, I have only fished once since the end of July so I am not really sure on where to go. I would like to try the pits at some point but I dont know when would be a good time to go down there. If anyone has any recommendations rather than the pits, let me know.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Just got back from a week-long visit with my family up in South Dakota. While I was up there, I managed to talk my father into taking the boat out of the lake we have a house on (Lake Pickerel) and giving Clear Lake, SD a try. Lake Pickerel is fun if you want numbers. We caught 43 bass in 2 hours one day but I wanted to try something for bigger bass. I am glad I did. In two days, fishing from 7-12 we boated 29 and 28 bass. Mainly smallmouths but a few small largemouths mixed in. Most of the bass were caught in 3-5' of water on jigs. We ended up with 16 smallmouths over 17”.

I fished there with my father and a guide (Clyde the Guide) this spring and we did fairly well. Caught a ton of large crappie (12"+) and quite a few smallmouth. Mainly we focused on submerged roadbeds and humps about 10' deep. Coffey County also has quite a few decent wipers in it if you get lucky.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Well we ended up going to Miami and I am glad we did. As soon as we got their we noticed a lot of small fishing jumping after bugs. I tied on a small grub for my girlfriend to use and after about 5 casts she asked if I had anything that they would jump after. I gave her a skitter-pop and she used it all day. Surprisingly, the fish were very aggressive. Between the two of us we probably caught 40-50 bass. Most were in the 8-12 inch range but 8 were about 12 with the biggest being 15.5. Nothing too big but the topwater action sure made her happy. Catching fish and a happy woman, can't get much better than that.

Hey guys I am planning on taking my girlfriend fishing in my 2-man inflatable boat if the weather is nice. I would like to be able yo tag into some fish so she doesn't get bored. I would prefer bass but she doesn't care what she catches as long as she catches fish. From what I have read Miami sounds like it is producing decent quantities of fish. I would appreciate any advice on where to go or what to use on Miami or any other smaller lake. Thanks a bunch.

Wiper Fishing Near Kc
Thank you for the quick response. I will mention them to him and see what he thinks. Also, do you know which lakes are good for largemouth in late april (in case he changes his mind about wipers)? The problem we will have is having only 1 day to tackle a pretty large lake. That is the main reason I am asking about guides.

Wiper Fishing Near Kc
Hey guys my family is coming down to visit during the last week of April. My father asked if there are any good wiper lakes that also have guide services. If there aren't any with guides, could you point me in the right direction for a decent wiper lake that also offers boat rentals. Thanks for any help.
