For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I was out there as well and had a very similar report. Caught a decent largemouth 2.5-3lbs on a wobbler but that was the only fish on a moving bait. Saw TONS of catfish scrounging the riprap though so my wife was happy with that. After a few hours, we decided to go to melvern and hang out in the water-kneeboarding and floating. Much better decision.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but I think my dad is convinced on Milford. He figured it would be the best option to maximize our fish catching because we might not be fishing a ton so the less we have to "figure out" the better.

Hey guys I am planning a camping trip this fall with my wife, and my parents. We are tentatively thinking sometime in October. Where would you guys recommend? Anything within a 4-5 hr drive would be best. Ideally, a town nearby would help since it wouldn't be exclusively a fishing trip. Right now I am thinking Milford or Table Rock but I am definitely open to other suggestions.

I want to get out there but I'm not keen on having to wear a life jacket when its 100 degrees! Elite Series pros don't lip them... they reach over the side and scoop it into the boat almost throwing it out the other side!

Wrong! I fished Hillsdale with Bluebasser one December for Crappie I went out the day after you and had a bunch of short strikes on topwater. Ton of bites but not many hookups. It was very weird. Same thing was happening on crankbaits. My best luck was actually dragging a shakyhead slowly through the riprap banks.

When Keith and I were there, I would say 2-3' by the dam and less the further north we went. With all this rain, I would guess 1' max

Went two weeks ago. Water was low 50's.. 8 or 9 degrees cooler than the KC area. We managed to catch some but it wasn't a great day. Especially since my outboard went on the fritz and the wheel bearing broke on the way home. Will definitely be going back soon though.
- Quality blank hardbaits.

Here are some of the larger fish in my boat caught on the Ned. All are over 3lbs but I'm not disclosing the exact amounts due to the monthly Facebook contest on my page. From Melvern: From LaCygne: From Milford (2nd largest smallmouth) Stockton

Kansas smallmouth lakes
If that were my situation, I would go to Milford 9 times out of 10 if I had to pick between the two.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Hey guys I am still looking for a guide on Toledo Bend. The day I am looking for is Saturday Feb 27th. I tried contacting Darold Gleason but I haven't heard back from him at all. I tried him through Facebook and never got a response. If anyone else knows of a guide on Toledo Bend, and/or another way to get a hold of Darold, please let me know. Thanks! Also, thank you to Bass_Fanatic for your help.

You are crazy for going out on ice that thin. I'd love to go but there is no way I'm going with a sketchy 2 inches. Are there ever any bigger trout in that place?

Glad that bait worked for you!

Front deck is responsible for making the backseater have a good time. You put the boat in areas to catch fish, and the backseater is supposed to catch them... At least that's the way it works when my wife goes with me haha

As KSadler said, happy wife, happy life. I am lucky enough to have a wife who really enjoys fishing so that makes it easier to convince her.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I grew up fishing out of an aluminum fish and ski and now my dad has a fiberglass one. I did some searching like this last year. Pros: family time- room to fit more than 2-3 people more stable/deeper decks- great with young kids/drunk people who are likely to fall in handles rough water better than bass boat dryer running across the lake more capable of pulling people behind the boat, not saying a bass boat can't do it but if you like to wakeboard, a 6" wake isn't going to be a whole lot of fun. wife would be happy because there are seats that swivel and somewhere to lie down other than the casting deck not very fun to fish from back seat as you have about a 3' x 2' casting deck, similar to my boat haha. Cons: Slower much heavier- need more towing capacity, lowers gas mileage in tow vehicle less storage for fishing equipment (most of the time in my dad's boat we had tackle boxes scattered on the floor because the few storage compartments it had were always filled with extra life jackets) Cannot go very shallow due to the deeper hull not easy to flip/pitch out of due to the lack of deck room and lower deck limited options in terms of manufacturers and sizes Honestly for me, it comes down to this. If I were to purchase a boat do I want to have the boat I want (bass boat), or something that my kids will enjoy? I do not have kids currently so kids would be AT LEAST 6 years before they would enjoy a fish & ski. I would get a bass boat if I were buying right now. Hope that helps.- So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Hey guys I don't frequent the Toledo Bend forum much but my father is headed to Texas for a few months with a camper to escape the South Dakota winter. He is planning on staying at Toledo bend for a while and hoping to do some fishing. I know you guys have had quite a bit of rain so any information would be helpful, but does anyone know a good guide in the area or would be willing to guide him on the lake? Feel free to private message me if you don't want to post it here. Thanks in advance- Re: Wyandotte County Lake
Nope. Not on the Ned... Spinnerbait. My avatar is a 4.5 caught on the Ned- Re: Wyandotte County Lake
My biggest smallmouth is 4.98 lbs... should have left the lure in its mouth haha. Still not 5 though- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Conor and I hit up Wolf Creek on Saturday to see if we could follow in Clayton's footsteps. We came across some fish. Actually had to anchor because I couldn't hold the boat very well. Below are a few of he pictures. And then there was this guy who decided a belly full of food and an 8" white bass wasn't enough. It had to try to eat Conor's 4" swimbait as well - For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
