Revo S Vs. Revo Stx
In my opinion there is little comparison between the S and STX. The STX is over a ounce lighter that than the S and packs more features, it has dual braking, the infini II spool, more bearings in key locations, a smoother retrieve and a better handle. The spool and weight of the reel make it more than worth the $70 dollars for me, throw in the extra bearings and dual braking, and as I said before, not much comparison in my opinion.

Jika Rig (Jig Rig)
I made some of these myself a year or so ago. I have had good sucsess with this rig. One thing I have noticed is that I have better luck using heavier weights than those that are made by the tackle companys.

Need Help With Fishing Shallow Ponds
Because standard 2D fish finders use depth to increase area of coverage they are very limited in shallow water. This is where SI fish finders realy shine, you can see as far as a couple hundred feet in both directions regardless of depth. In shallow waters the fish will often cling tight to structure and cover, anything they can find. Side imageing fish finders make it possible to find these areas much quicker that older 2D type sonar. In short, find the structure, and you will find fish.

May Be A Dumb Question, But What Exactly Is Flipping & Pitching
Because they are both casting techniques, made easier to perform with rods of the correct length, power and action. Another factor is the type of cover and structure that these techniques are often used in association with.

Thoughts On The Major League Fishing Format?
I have purchased the last two seasons of MLF and have enjoyed the coverage as well as the format. It may not be perfect, but they seem to be on to something.

Spring Kc Get Together-Updated 4/24
I'll check with my fishing partner, but I am feeling like this is one that we could make on either date. My vote would be for Melvern.

Just Ordered An Nrx!
You will love the 853, it will open your eyes to what true sensitivity is in a fishing rod. You may hae a little buyers remorse now, but I am willing to bet it will be all gone the first chance you have to use your new rod.

Who Is Going To Win The Classic??
As much as I respect and admire the abilities of KVD, I am going to have to go with McClelland for the win. Jason Christie or Brett Chapman would be my dark horse.

Question About The Hydrowave
I have fished with and without it, if there are shad in the area, and you have it set to the correct sound pattern, you will immediately notice shad starting to break the water and become very active. Can I say that I caught more fish with it than without, I don't know. I don't know how to prove or disprove its effectiveness, you can only determine for yourself if you are happy with its results.

Gen 3 Revo Sx Or Johnny Morris Sig Series?
I don't disagree with you on distance, they will absolutely cast as far as most other reels. They do however lack the advantage of centrifugal brakesand their abilty to help control spool speeds at the begining of the cast. While the SX will cast with the STX and Premier in most cases, typically you will find that you will have far less blow ups and less time spent with settings to adjust to conditions with one of the later.

Gen 3 Revo Sx Or Johnny Morris Sig Series?
Magnetic brakes are at their best IMO when used for pitching and flipping. Magnetic brakes have the abiltiy to have an effect on the spool at much lower spool speed than do centrifugal brakes. Centrifugal brakes obviously need higher spool speeds to deploy the tabs. Magnetic brakes also have a lot more adjustability, so when at low spool speeds you can dial them in very precisely. ABU does have the pitch centrifugal brakes which deploy at much lower spool speeds, but you do not have the same adjustability as magnetic. I like the SX for pitching and flipping, it is not as strong as many others for distance type casting, but it is very good the mentioned technique.

Brauer Wins Everstart Series Tournament On Toledo Bend
Congrats to Denny. I was recently in Del Rio fishing Amistad. I can tell you one thing, Denny puts in the work, his rig is at the ramp every morning, and he is on the lake as long as anyone. Very happy for him.

New Worm And Jig Rod
I own the 703C it is a very nice rod, but in my opinion a little under powered for jigs 3/8 oz and over when you add the trailer. I would recommend stepping up to either the 734C or 735C. The 703C makes agreat spinnerbait and swimjig rod.The Dobyns rods are comparable in sensitivity and better in balance than many rods in this price range. Another rod you might take a look at is the Falcon Cara series, I own several and enjoy fishing with them.

Reel Bearing Maintenance
I see, is it common to clean bearings while they are still installed in the reel?

Why do you recommend avoiding acetone to clean SS bearings?

Popular Rods By Location
Megabass is a big step up from BPS, it would be a hard deal to pass on just based on equipment and baits alone. It would be interesting to know the details about the deal.

E2 had fished the BPS branded gear for a while, he will leave it behind this coming year as he is now sponsored by Megabass.
