  1. The bigger ones I got on slow rolled spinnerbait (chart & white w/ chart grub trailer) & blk/blu jig craw trailer. The smaller ones on Manns baby 1 minus (tenn shad). The smaller ones stay up by the creek entrance (closest to day care). The big ones stay on opposite end of pond. If u stand in front of the farthest light pole from the daycare (next to street), they stay within 30 ft of that pole. I have caught all my big ones in that area.
  2. Hey Jeff, It hasn't been drained in the past 5 years i been fishing it. You will never catch a bunch of numbers there but i have been getting some good sizes. I caught a few in the 5-7 lb range last weekend out there. I got my receiver put on my new truck so im going to head to Glen Springs this weekend. Any reports? Thanks, Carlton
  3. RW I have been catching some decent sizes out in collierville. I been fishin the pond right next to the daycare on Shea Rd (next to firestation) just off of Houston Levee at 385. I'm gonna hit Glen Springs this weekend. Any word on how its been out there?
  4. I took a 14ft jon boat on a 40,000 acre lake on a 4th of July weekend. I know...I know...but I wanted to fish Going out in the morning all was good. Started to head back to the boat ramp by 10 to try and miss the traffic and my big motor craped out took a LONG time, but the TM got us back. Fighting 3ft waves in high traffic on TM told me I never needed to do that dumb mess again!
  5. I've used ultralight a decent amount for bass. As stated before, its a whole lot of fun catching dinks on them. It will definitly teach you how to fish with drag properly!
  6. No doubt! This place is a wealth of information. It is definitley the best site anywhere!!
  7. I would like to send out my deepest gratitude to everyone on this site! Although I have only been fishing for bass for about 5 years now, I feel that I have made great strides in not only catching bass, but "somewhat" understanding the behavior of this elusive species, because of what I have learned from all of you. There is absolutely NO WAY i would be able to use the techniques I use, or to figure out patterns, in such a short amount of time without all of your help! The answer to just about every question I have had about bass fishing has been found here. The infinate knowlege that is found daily on this site has made fishing so much more enjoyable. So, from a new bass angler, I say...THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
  8. Hi all!, I just got my first fish finder for my boat and am in the process of setting it up properly. I have heard that you should set the gain to manual and increase it until "clutter" fills the screen then back it down a little to have it set correctly. My question is, when set properly, how much "clutter" should I see in the screen? A moderate amount, a small amount, or none? Thanks in advance for all help!
  9. X2! Those dinks are easy...but man them big girls know how to make me feel STUPID!!!
  10. Liplelss crank for me! Red Eye Shad's and Rattletrap's make me a happy fisherman in the fall!
  11. Which Vanish are you using? The Vanish in the blue box is JUNK!!!! WAY too brittle! However, I switched to Vanish Transition last spring and have had absolutely NO problems with breakoff's since
  12. Bitsy flip jigs with a YUM F2 Wooly Bullee trailer do VERY well for me! I also do well with slowly dragging football jigs around and over brush piles and timber. My best colors are Black/Blue, Green Pumpkin, and Peanut Butter & Jelly. Jigs are one of my favorite baits to fish because I catch a TON of bass on them. Hope this helps!
  13. Hey Colton, Man I used to go pond fishin out in Collierville before I got my boat. I'll let you in on a spot I used to go to that produces some really good sized bass. You will never catch a buch in it but the ones you catch average between 3-7 lbs. There is a road right next to the firestation on houstan levee rd (right next to 385). I think the road is called Shilling Farms rd. Anyways, there is a daycare bout 1/4 mile from the firestation and the pond is right next to it. You also need to check out some golf course ponds. I've pulled as many as 35 in a day at Memphis National. Hope this helps!
