My Old Dog New Tricks Thoughts On The Features In Todays Equipment
Is this a new word that Shimano haters created? lol Shimano users aren't the only ones who spend a lot of money on aftermarket parts for their reels.

2015 Aldebaran Casting And Braking Systems
I took my 2015 Aldebaran out today for a few hours, silent tune is supposed to eliminate the slight play that the bearings have in their housings in the frame. Its like having a loose wheel so you tighten the lug nuts. Personally I don't see any improvement in casting smoothness vs the old Aldebraran which is a good thing, because the prev gen 50s are so smooth in casting for being centrifugal brakes. As far as the brakes? I don't have and IVCB abu(yet) but I do have a LEWS team lite coming in(I sent it back for an exchange). Its braking system is copy of the IVCB(Abu should have seen that coming since Doyo manufactures both reels). The systems are similar but with IVCB the brake arms are always flying and you increase the friction by lowering the brake race? With SVS Infinity you increase the friction of only the activated brake arms. If anyone has a REVO Premier and a Chronarch CI4 maybe then can tell us which one casts better?

Trying Out New Veritas 2.0 Winch Rod And Running One Brake
Welcome to true shimano performance lol. The balanced brakes was disproven years ago by Bantam 1. Also people keep spouting the "2 on and forget it" mantra when it comes to shimano, not realizing the full potential of the reels.

Daiwa Diehard Might Have To Make A Change
Its still available in Japan. 3D should not be expensive to make as it wasn't really very complicated. Its just an adjustment to move the outer magnet ring closer or farther to the inductor.

Lews Vs Shimano Baitcasters
I've recently got the team lite(silver one) haven't gotten to fish it yet. One thing to take into account is that the Lews spool is much lighter so in theory the casting range should be better than the curado. I'm very pleased with my first Lews. It looks really sharp.

Catch up? They've been passed awhile back lol

Daiwa Diehard Might Have To Make A Change
They tried, the Z200(watered down version of the Z2020) failed. Not because it was a bad reel, but probably because they made the mistake of pricing it the same as the Calais DC. It should have been $450-500 tops. The Sol(US version of the Alphas) was axed a long time ago. Have no idea why. T3s are apparently gone but still available in Japan. Pixies have been axed across the board probably due to the SS Airs.

Major Craft Nanoace Rods
I have a Volkey and recently got an MS-X.. they crap all over these nanoace rods in terms of looks and attention to detail. But on the other hand, I can understand why they didn't bring over the other line of rods, because whenever you sell JDM items in the US the price goes up ALOT. I read that the MS-X will be a $500 rod if they sold it here. Do you think the would sell a lot considering the options at that price point? Proven rods like NRXs, Megabass, etc.. I do think they should have separated themselves a little in the looks department from the other 100 dollar rods. Then once they get a foothold in the market here then bring the other lines over gradually.

Curado I Vs E - E Is Outperforming I. Is This Your Experience?
All Daiwa dual bearing pinions are in their "free floating" spool models, where the pinion basically needs to be supported by either bearings or bushings since there is no long spool shaft running through the center of pinion to help support it like on Shimanos X Ship reels. None of their long shaft (Shimano style) spool models like the Tatula, Lexa, etc. have dual bearing pinions. While the E series was great, for me personally I think it was just too basic in features, and theres nothing wrong with that. But when you have the new Revos to contend with, then the Lews revival where for the money their reels are really feature packed, Shimano just did what was natural, evolved to keep ahead of the competition. I cant really say why some people don't see a performance difference between the 2 models or like I do and a lot of others, or even have problems dialing in the new brakes. I guess it just goes to show how so many anglers fish differently.

Daiwa Alphas Sv
I suppose a proper review on what daiwa claims it does vs what it actually does. There not many reviews but what I've read show some different views. I fish from the bank so I like reels that cast far.
-
Daiwa Alphas Sv
The SV spool is supposed to have a wide casting range and a stronger braking profile so you could theoretically go "thumbless" even on touchdown of the lure. Casting distance reports are mixed, some say father, some say shorter. Im waiting on a proper review from TT on this spool before I take the plunge and get an SS SV.
