  1. also the spool weights are much different. The team lite has a 12.5 gram spool to handle lighter lures.
  2. Next time go through Plat. My MSX shipping from Plat was only 65 and I got it in a week. Its crazy it took a month to arrive! And Plat sends in a PVC tube.
  3. Was a spellcheck typo lol.. it was supposed to say filling.
  4. MSX Limited! That's sick! I have the regular MSX but the limited takes it up a notch ☺
  5. true, lc pointers cast really well. Shimano 50 are really underrated in their light lure abilities. See if filing your spool halfway makes a difference since the stock spool and Yumeya spool weigh virtually the same.
  6. Yep, I was using 4-6lb mono. Now whether the lure is really 3/16ths I don't know, but that's what lucky craft rates it at. oh and the metanium handled it with ease and cast it just as far it seems.
  7. Chronarch 50 and Abu volatile 6'9 ML. Chronarch 50 can do 3/16ths easily. I can sling LC pointer 65s really far. If you want a nicer rod maybe the Zodias 6'10 ML.
  8. After missing a few on "normal" wacky hooks I went to a offset wide gap and it works much better.
  9. I will say this, the new Aldebaran is not a major leap in performance over the old. It does handle light baits a little better and may cast a tad bit farther.
  10. Its just an awesome reel period. Its feather light but still solid and probably my favorite reel to palm. Super smooth.. it might be my smoothest reel(and I have over 20 reels of different brands). It excels with light baits which is what I was using it for (1/4 oz and under) but last weekend I threw a 1/4 oz rooster tail using only one brake and was getting an easy 40-45 yards, zero thumbing even on lure touchdown. Its definitely an advancement over the Core50. The only drawback I can think of is that its so light that it may not balance very well with a lot of heavier longer rods. Ive read a lot of guys saying the prefer the old Aldebaran/Core 50 for some reason, and its true that it did have some very big shoes to fill, but this is a new reel, not an evolution to the old one, so its going to have its own charachteristics. These are the reels I own that have been staying at home since Ive gotten the new Aldebaran 50... Metanium XG, Curado I, SS SV, Team Lite, Tatula R, most of my old Shimano 50s.
  11. 50 sized shimano and a zodias rod or wait to see what the megabass legate is all about.
  12. I prefer 84mm and 90mm tops. I played around with 100mm handles and took them off after a few trips. Making smaller circles feels more comfortable to me.
  13. I'm pretty sure its machined and anodized while the citica s might be painted. They are the same size and shape but the edges on the citica dragstar are sharper.
  14. Machined handle and maybe drag star on the Curado vs cast on the Citica. I got them both and I much prefer the looks of the Curado but to each their own.
  15. The overhead cast was the hardest part for me. I went months with only using sidearm in the beginning. Once I mastered the overhead cast my distance and accuracy went up dramatically.
  16. TT just stated it has a composite frame. Disappointing seeing as the competition at its price point have mostly aluminum frames.
  17. Even with Xship and a couple more bearings the performance would lie in the spool weight. I highly doubt this new reel will have a spool lighter than even the Curado/Citica I. I could be totally wrong though and this thing could be a sleeper like the Citica G was.
  18. No xship, and I'm surprised it has svs infinty at this price point
  19. And they all use the same frame and side plates lol..
  20. I'm tempted to pull the trigger on a hedgehog, what's your initial thoughts?
  21. the design looks to be a crOSS between the aldebaran and curado.. I like it! Seeing the weight leaves me to think it has a composite frame.
  22. Im very interested in this one.. I wonder if its a composite frame? $119 Now we know why the Citica I is priced as such, because this reel is going to occupy its former price category.
  23. I have a hyuga, its a nice rod for the money.
