The scorpion will probably have 2 bearings in the handle. That's where the difference comes from. And usually Shimano JDM uses higher quality bearings than USDM

The new Metanium palms great, its low and long, but the Core50 is just perfect ergonomically in my hands. They are very close in performance but the Metanium casts farther.

Thanks, it was hard to acquire but worth the wait.

The smaller surface area of the white brakes means less friction on the drum, meaning longer casts, but also not as forgiving. I saw a noticeable improvement in distance but also required more thumb at times.

If you are wanting more distance, swap out the brake blocks from red to the white ones

I got my tatula type r 2 days ago, its not as heavy and bulky IMO as people say. It casts pretty far, I was able to get the brake dial down to 4. If the new Curado is anything like my Metanium(and it looks like it will be) then it will outcast the type r for sure. No experience with Lews but I'm sure they fish similar to my Revo IB.
