  1. I own both, in my opinion, I get more from my Shimano's. It casts better, and reels smoother. I have the new G Citica, and it feels better than all the Citicas evr made. PQ is good too, but its not the Citica.

  4. Nothing is better than the Curado E, haha
  5. Orra, No. I own the Revo SX, Pro Qual, and Enigma. Right off the bat its a No for the Enigma, Pro Qual is the same price and twice the reel. As for the Revo SX, I love mine. Its a tough decision between the SX and the Pro Qual. If you want to spend the extra money, the SX has a higher drag rating than the PQ. The SX is far better to cast really light baits with too. Depending on what your intentions with the reel are, is whats going to help factor on what to get.
  6. Down in S FLA its all about BPS. Selection, selection, selection. Dicks has nothing in comparison. We dont have Cabelas. Also, I have a BPS Visa card that allows me major points on purchases, so far in the past year Ive got around $200 in points.
  7. My feel is incorperated to my whole hand as it holds the reel and rod in it.
  8. I need one of those rod and reel stands
  9. Figured Id line them all up. From left to right -BPS Enigma/Enigma Rod MH -BPS ProLite/ProLite Rod M-10 lb Mono -BPS Johnny Morris Signature/Berkley Lightning Shock M -BPS Pro Qualifier/Berkley Lightning Shock MH -Shimano Citica/Berkley Lightning Shock MH -Shimano Curado 200E7/Berkley Lightning Shock M -Shimano Curado 50E/BPS Tourney Special M -Abu Garcia Revo SX/Abu Garcia Vendetta M -Shimano Bantam Curado CU200/Berkley Lightning Shock M All spooled with 65# Spiderwire Braid (except BPS ProLite)
  10. Just got mine in the mail today. Got a 50E, but there ate plenty 51's around. Got mine off ebay for $120, new condition, very happy. Its my new hollow body frog reel.
  11. If you go to a hardware store and buy a can of Buster. Spray the screw and let it sit over night, and ttry to unscrew. This stuff for some reason will dissolve rust and corrosion like i=Ive never seen before. I use it when I work on cars with stuck parts.
  12. I have one, and I love it. I own many of different reels, including Curado, Pro Qual, Citica, JM Sig, Pro Lite, Enigma, and this one is a world on its own. Yes there are reels like the Pro Qualifier that are cheaper, but this thing is wonderful for casting really light baits. I have mine on a 7' Vandetta M. I use it with a 1/32 weight and a 3/0 wide gap hook. Works great for lizards, paddle tail worms, and any light plastic. Very smooth, its my 2nd favorite, nest to my 200E7 Curado. Reviews are good, and personal using, I approve. You could go for the STX, or the Wench, I personally like the Black and Red (my favorite color combo), and the price is right. Get one, you wont be disappointed! Just add a little oil to the spool bearings when you get it, they seem to be a little dry for me (oil comes with reel).
  13. XPS is some good stuff. Im a braid fisher, but if I use flouro its XPS.
  14. KVD line conditioner, works!
  15. Depending on the feel of the cast, I usually tear down the reel once a year and fully relube. Soak the bearings in acetone for about 5 minutes to clean out. Grease and oil where manufacture recommends. Spool bearing get a drop of oil every once a while, due to they undergo the most torture. As long as you do this you should be ok. Most reels I find are a little on the dry side for me from the factory. I usually try to use them a good bit before teardown and lubing to my liking.
  16. All the canals that run off of 441 are pretty good.
  17. $50? I still have the original box and paperwork too. Im ctazy like that. Also have a Citica that is the same year, also original box and paperwork.
  18. I have a whole reel that you could buy. Its in perfect condition, so plenty of spare parts.
  19. Will a 200B spool work? I know its righty, but the spool might be the same, just turn it around.
  20. Anything that makes a splashing on the surface of the water will work. They are not too particular in what they attack. I usually catch them a lot using a BPS Horney toad on a 3/0 wide gap hook. Just run the frog across the surface so the feet splash like crazy and they will go nuts. They are usually located within 3 feet of the shore, so using something that can be rigged weedless is a plus.
  21. Bearings dont always mean smoother. My Revo SX has 11 bearings, and my Curado 200E7 has like 4 or 5. I can cast my Curado just as far, if not farther, and its smoother. The Citica is a good real too, but its nowhere near the E series Curado, maybe the G series. I like my G series Citica, but Im just saying I think you will like the PQ better for all around performance. My PQ is in my opinion my third best real I own, One being my E7, and the other my Revo SX. I am very happy with the bang for the buck on the PQ, and millions will tell you the same. Its the best reel that BPS has produced (even though it was made by another company for them). It will definately go down in history with the E7 for this generation of reels.
  22. PQ is smoother, longer casts, built better in my opinion. If its gonna be a shimano its gonna be a Curado.
  23. I own both the PQ and Citica. I am a Shimano man, but I think for what you are looking for is the PQ. Citica is good, but its not the Curado.
