Curado 200G Vs 200E
What you say may be true, but what I heard from the Shimano rep was just that. So to clarify for you and the rest of who may read this, it was info from Shimano. It makes sense to me, considering its not an "laughable assumption", its info from the source.

Curado 200G Vs 200E
the E was built better. The G was toned down to give the Chronarch the spotlight while that was toned down as well. Its just a sales theory, but thats the way it is sometimes. I was talking to a Shimano rep today at Bass Pro, and he even agreed, the E was so far the best that they had for the price.

Curado Or Revo Sx?
Thats a tough call. My Curados are E's, and I know they are a different world of performance than the new G's. I love my SX too. The SX is very smooth, but its hard to beat the quality of Shimano products. # of bearings isnt as important as placement. I can tell you that my 50E can cast farther and is smoother than my SX. My opinion, if your going for the rebate, get the SX, and get online and find an E series for sale if you want a Curado.

New Shimano Caenan, Reviews?

New Shimano Caenan, Reviews?
I already have the Chronarch (200E and 50E, haha). Trying to keep the $ down. Just need something for my new spook reel, so a non metal frame will do for a mono setup.

New Shimano Caenan, Reviews?
I have the Citica, and its pretty good, but want to try the Caenan. Im going to use it for what you use it for, my spook. Gonna put mono on it too, figured it would be good for it.

Lubes
Sorry, forgot the caution of the brake cleaner. Spray away from the rest of the reel. I only use it for the bearing trapped on the spool shaft because of the pin.

Hot Sauce is good, but you have to remove all old hrease and oils for it to not cause that reaction due to different chemical bases. The best thing for you as to not have to worry would be the Ardent cleaning kit. No matter what you use, make sure that all bearings get soaked and cleaned out with acetone or non chlorinated brake cleaner(good for the spool bearings that are trapped on by the pin) before adding oil of your own.

Cheap Rod Vs. Not So Cheap Rod
That lightning rod will last you a lifetime of good fishing. I use the shock rods on my baitcasters because I use braid. I fish tournaments and have no provlem feeling bites or wrestling fish in. Dont be fooled by all the $ hype for overpriced equipment, its not going to make you a better fisherman, just a unhappy husband while your wife nags you, haha. Enjoy that rod, they are amazing!

Have the Pro Qualifier, and the Citica. Not impressed with the Carbonlite.

New Shimano Caenan, Reviews?
Anyone got one of these reels? Satisfied with it? I am going to get a new reel during this Classic sale, and figured might as well trifect the Shimano line. Since I have a 200E7, and a Citica G6, might as well try this new piece to add to the artillery. Its got 6+1 bearings, so it must be pretty smooth right?

Anyone Really Familiar With Bps Trade In During Classic?
Not good with the whole ebay thing, but if you want the greenie its yours for $20, just dont know how to do a payment swap. I did buy a 50E off ebay a couple of weeks ago, but I dont have a paypal account. Trying to get rid of stuff I dont use, and would rather a kid be able to use them than junk them. I didnt know it was a 1:1 ratio on the trade in. Thanks

Anyone Really Familiar With Bps Trade In During Classic?
I have about 5 reels and 6 rods that Im going to be trading in during their reel and rod trade in this coming week. Was wondering if anyone had an general idea of about how much they give you per rod and reel towards a new product. For the reels I have an old CU200 Bantam Curado Greenie, and a Citica from that same year in the boxes. A Abu Garcia Cardinal CX700 spinning from about 2 years ago, in box. Old Mitchell Spidercast spinning reel, and an old Shimano Spinning reel each about 15 years old. The rods are mostly Ugly Sticks spinning and casting, and an old Daiwa Orange fiberglass rod from the 80s that is in great condition. I was figuring maybe $20 per reel and $10 per rod?

Rigging A Horny Toad?
I use a 3/0 widegap, and jusr bury the tip of the hook in the slot. No problems with hookups, just give the fish a second to get the frog in its mouth. I run mine on the surface so the feet splash around.

Looking For Peacocks
Ok, Im sure plenty of people on this site fish for Peacock Bass here in South Florida. I am trying to plan a day to take my wifes grandfather fishing for them. I do see a lot of videos that are posted on youtube and such that show some people in canals in the Miami area. Can someone help a fellow fisherman and tell me where to go? If anyone on here has a good canal for them and can help me so I can get some fish on, it would be greatly appreciated. I am going to be walking the banks and not using a boat. I live in Coral Springs in Broward, so I know all the canals around here, and walk different ones evertime I go out. I just need a good hot spot to pinpoint for one day.

Rigging A Loooooonnnggggggg Worm
Bass will actually attack the worm from the head first. The only hook size that I use is a 3/0 widegap. It works for 5" to 15" worms. When I rig the hook through the head, I tend to go a little deeper into the head as to be able to hide the knot and the loop in the worm (or whatever im rigging). Never had a problem with the fish gulping it up. When you feel the bite, wait a second for the fish to get that bait in its mouth before you set the hook. If your gonna fish snakes, then I would recommend going for a 5/0 widegap.

Spiderwire Vs Vicious Line?
I use Spiderwire braid 65#. Casts smooth, and very strong. Never had a problem with abrasion or breaking on me.
