  1. Booyah padcrusher. Wont break the bank, and performs great.
  2. Better off putting your own rod and reel together, and up your limit to $200. A decent reel is going to run you $100-150, and a decent rod from $60-$120.
  3. Lets keep it simple. Palomar is for braid. Fluoro, eh. If you want fluoroish monoish line with great strength and abrasion resistance, buy YoZuri. Use the good ole clinch knot and be done with it. I use 12# YoZuri and a clinch knot, and only retie if the line gets pretty bad. No problems.
  4. So now that I have a Citica E on the way, I can return my Curado E7 back to my frogging rig. So I decided to pick up a Flipping Sellus. I have 2 of these rods in Worm and Jig, and they held up great with good feel and sensitivity. Heck, they are the 2 rods, 1 mounted with a Curado E7 and 65# braid, the other a Chronarch E7 and 20# YoZuri, that helped me to win the FF tourney on Lake Toho. So, since being pretty satisfied with those 2, I bought the Flipping stick. If you havent seen one yet in person its pretty neat. Its a 7'6 rod, and near the handle its telescoping. At first looking at a few of them, I couldnt figure out why eyelets were crooked compared to the reel seat. I figured they were defects. But why would they put them on the shelf then? So upon looking more closely at them I saw the break in the rod. Then I played with it, twisting and pushing, and thats when I figured it out. Nowhere on the card that is attached to the rod does it say that this rod is designed this way. My guess is that due to it being 7'6, making it telesope about a foot, helps for storage. I dont know how it will affect the backbone of the rod,but it sure is a cool idea, especially for transporting.
  5. Gambler Ugly Otter
  6. I would go for the PQ with that amazing deal. The Winch is more of a fast retrieve for maybe pitching or flipping to tear fish out of heavy cover to me anyway. PQ is a good real, I used to own one. Take the extra $ for some baits and stuff.
  7. Honestly, every day is different. I will tell you this, in decently clear water down here in FL, a good watermelon color works good. You can add a red flake, or some kind of zest to it, but watermelon seems to be the ticket. When the water is stained/murkey, a junebug or blue type color works pretty good. Though my friend and I did win the FF tourney on Lake Toho the beginning of this month swimming Gambler EZ in Green Copperfield color, and the water was pretty dirty. So, that being said, you have to experiment a little with your colors.
  8. It should be called NoNoFill!
  9. One of the reasons I got rid on my SX. Nice reel, but its just not good enough with just mag brakes.
  10. Its just part of fishing heavy cover, sometimes you will get stuck, sometimes you can pull through it. Its all part of the game.
  11. A good tough 7.something ratio reel, and a strong MH or H rod over 7 ft. Maybe a Veritas H Flipping rod, its 7'11.
  12. I use a Berkley Lightning Shock MH 6'6, with Shimano Citica G, and 17# mono. I like the shorter rod so I have no problem getting the tip down low anytime.
  13. The new Curado G does not come in the 50 size as of right now. You would have to look online to see if someone is selling a Curado 50E. The 50E is great for all around fishing with some good 12# line, like YoZuri Hybrid line. If you want something with more capacity, then you can go for the 200 size, which the new G is or you can even find a E online. Either way, the 50 is good for lighter baits in the 1/8-1/2oz category, the 200 is better for the 1/2+ category. If any questions just ask.
  14. Shimano Sellus, Berkley Lightning Shock, prob the 2 I would go for.
  15. 30# which is 6# dia is a little too thin for baitcasting. Every time you set the hook, the line is going to dig in on itself. I would return it and get a 40 or 50# braid, and you should be fine with covering all aspects. As far as the fuoro, that will work just fine, or you can even try Yozuri in a 12# which may be stronger than the 15# fuoro.
  16. Baby is good for T-rigging, the full size is a great jig trailer.
  17. 36? How big is your boat? 100ft?
