  1. Ardent has a nice little kit that has grease, lube, cleaner, a brush, foam applicators, etc. I think its like $25.
  2. Sharp knife, braid scissors, either or. Here is a good tip: after the knot is tied, the tag end that is left, I use a lighter to burn the end so the line does not frey.
  3. OK, forget the whole bait idea. Lets focus on what is really an issue at hand. Camoflauge pants, and a bright neon yellow jacket, with a purple hat?
  4. At least 5 days a week. Its not a all day fishing event all the time. Mostly its a few hours here and there. I live where there is bodies of water all around me.
  5. I used to use only btaid because I couldnt find a mono or fluoro that felt strong enough or handled good enough to trust. Then I found YoZuri, havent looked back since. I have my Curado E7 for my frogs/jigs with 65# braid, 50E with 12# Zuri, Citica G with 17# mono for topwater, and a Chronarch E7 with 20# Zuri for heavier cover/deep worm fishing. Next is a CH50E for 30# braid for light bait in heavy cover.
  6. I use the Stealth braid. The EZ braid is no bueno for me.
  7. Citica is choise of what you listed. Very good reel, easy to dial in. For another reel option, at $200 is the Chronarch E series. Stay away from the Curado G series.
  8. Dependable, and last a long time. I know a lot of people have this "Lews" bug, but lets see where they are 10 years from now.
  9. All of those gold course lakes are tied in to waterways. If it was Tamarac, they are all connected to the C14 in some way.
  10. The point of braied is the strength and abrasion resistance. Even though you may use 12# mono or fluoro, that doesnt mean use a 12# braid. Remember, 30# braid is usually a 6# diameter. You will want to use a braid that is the Diameter rating as wwhat you would use for mono/fluoro. IE: The best all around dia. for a baitcaster would be about a 12#, so that would equate to a 50# in Power Pro, or 65# for Spiderwire Stealth braid. That very light 15# strength braid is for spinning rigs that would use a 2-6# mono/fluoro. I hope this helps you to understand a little better the point of braid.
  11. PQ, JM is over rated. If you want a little better, step up a little to the Shimano Citica
  12. 12# mono and heavy cover dont mix well. Problem solved
  13. Weird. Ive had big boys go under rocks and around pipes and my 12# dont break.
  14. Swwet, better get ready for the Tourney Im hosting in Oct
  15. YoZuri has a little bit of stretch, to me its just enough. TW has the big spools for cheap if you want a good deal.
  16. Maybe they werent stocked there?
  17. Downsized collection. Just my Shimanos now. L to R: Shimano Citica G6-Berkley Lightning Shock 6'6-17# Mono, Shimano Curado 50E-Shimano Clarus 6'8-12# YoZuri, Shimano Curado 200E7-Shimano Sellus 6'8-65# Spiderwire, Shimano Chronarch 200E7-Shimano Sellus 6'8-20# YoZuri.
  18. Heavy cover, or just thrashed around and popped it?
  19. Yeah, I love my E Curados too. Its gonna go downn in Shimano history just like the B's did.
  20. What kind of line are you using?
  21. Good job. See, it helps to always have a rig with you.
  22. No, not harmful at all. The fish dont swim much in the livewell, the balls just kind of float out of the way.
  23. I tied directly to the nose. I use a 17# mono for my spook. Just make sure there is a bit of slack to the line as you pop it to get the walk down.
  24. Lizards:Zoom in Watermelon variety colors. Worms:Culprit Red Shad. Frogs:BPS Horney Toad. Shad Like:Gambler EZ Swimmers Green Copperfield.
