  1. Curt and I hit LaCygne earlier this week. Fishing was steady all day, the bait I pounded all day with the most success was a lipless crank. Caught some decent largemouth, probably 20-25, 5 in the 3 lb range. Nailed the outlet with that lipless and it was nonstop action, probably caught 50-70. The best was a 5-12. I didn't weigh the other decent one.
  2. Put me down for baked beans, coleslaw, and limited edition camo mountain dew, and if we need anything else just let me know what to get
  3. Do we need to start going through who's bringing what for the cookout? I can't remember if we already did that.
  4. Hit wabaunsee of Friday. Fished a jig pretty much all day. Caught my 3 biggest fish in about a 40 minute window in the morning, then just some steady dink fishing throughout the day. But the dinks at that lake are nothing like Melvern dinks lol. I can't stand loading pics on this site but the smallie was 20" but looked to be on the weight watchers diet. It was lighter than the 18" I caught at Melvern and fought like a largemouth, didn't have much fight in him. The two largemouth were decent. My scale fell while weighing my first fish and the back flew off and battery went into the water. The first fish was 3.7, and I would guess that my second LM was 4.0-4.5. All of my keeper fish were caught in different areas but there was one common factor, which I am not at liberty to say <insert:evil laugh> due to our up and coming, "Battle on The Bunsee". Going to hit Pomona in the morning with my nephew and take a break from tubing. I'm pretty sure I will have nothing to report on that.
  5. Hit State Lake this morning. Got a late start, was on the lake around 8:45. I caught two keepers, and the gf caught one. Forgot the scale, but I would say mid 3s on two of them and the one I caught on a jig was a mid 4. Also caught about a 6 pound cat. Caught them on Chatter, baby brush hog, pit boss, and jig. I haven't seen state lake this good in awhile, so I am hoping to see some good fish caught this weekend from the nice cool weather.
  6. I've been having some good luck with this color combo I made, with a perfection blue feck pit boss trailer. I would definitely say try throwing a 4" pit boss on as a trailer, not many do so it adds some variance to possibly help with highly pressured areas. But like Blue said MO craw and PBJ and just mess with the trailers and mismatch them to see if that helps.
  7. You just made my day Curt!!! I am excited to go to wabaunsee this weekend. I am definitely going to be tying some new jigs tonight and I'll make some extra ones for you. I think that the winner of this tourney will be bringing in a 18-19 lb sack if the conditions are right.
  8. Three in a row for you, I'm going for 4 thx to being teamed up with Clayton on the first one lol. Also I didn't see on Clayton's first post of what we are going to do as far as measuring/weighing this time around. If everyone has operational live wells, are we going to do a weigh in at the end? Also would you change your profile pic, I'm kinda getting creeped out by you looking at me upside down while I type.
  9. Put me down as a boater. I think this is a great idea. Not too excited about the drive to pre-fish, but think it will be well worth it.
  10. There is a alum boat at Neil Spector motors in louisburg. I've never seen a boat there before, saw it on my way to work this morning. PM me your cell and ill text you pics this evening. It looked like a 16-17' with a mercury 40-50.
  11. Yes a big thx to Clayton for putting together another one of these. The amount of people keeps getting bigger, and the fish keep getting bigger and better every time. Curt and I set a goal on the drive down there that we would be satisfied with win or lose. We ended up finding a really stacked area, that would produce in waves. We could go 15-20 mins without a bite and then double up two times in a row, and it was consistently that pattern. I still think about the one I lost, he hit at the very end of my last jerk, so I couldn't get any kind of set on him, he hit it like a pound of bricks. The moment he hit it I was already yelling at curt to get the net lol. I wish I wouldn't have seen it bc I could have told myself it was a big drum. I look forward to the next one, I definitely would love to try a new lake, and that one around Topeka sounds like a blast.
  12. I will keep an eye and ear out.
  13. Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure it's fuel related, but am hoping its not the low pressure pump bc that's going to be another $500. You can power it up in neutral and it runs fine without any hesitation at high rpm, but as soon as you try to put it under any load in gear it cuts in and out. I will definitely check out those forums.
  14. Well....where do I begin?? Yesterday I took my new ranger out to make sure everything was in line for the tourney. Went to start my truck, it was dead, no biggie, jumped it and headed for lacygne. Put the boat in and it fired right up. Idled out through the river and when I gave it gas it would just fall on its face, obviously a new high pressure fuel pump did not fix it. I then got all sorts of loud beeping so immediately shut it down and trolled all the way back to the boat ramp. Bent the shaft of my trolling motor trying to get it back on the trailer. On my way home I blew a tire on the trailer. I really hope my luck changes, bc I am out of patience.
  15. Sorry been busy with work so haven't checked the spring get together posts. I will bring baked beans and fish cookies. If someone is already bringing that then just tell me what I need to bring. I've also got lots of paper plates if needed.
  16. You can use my Lowe for tournaments if you want. It's got the dual livewells. Just have to be sure to invite me to a few lol.
  17. Heading for the Ozarks tomorrow morning. Going to try to snag some spoonbill. This will be my first time fishing for spoonbill. Anybody ever fished for spoonbill? Just wondering if it is exciting or if I am going to be staring at the bank wishing I brought my bass boat lol.
  18. Well the bass have finally starting to bite in my pond. Went up there about 7:15 last night, caught one on a spinner as soon as it hit the water and the rest I caught on a pit boss running it top water. Everyone I know that fishes ponds, the bite really started popping this weekend. Time to hit the honey holes.. I am hoping to take the new boat out Wednesday for a test drive if I get rained out working. Parts were suppose to be in yesterday so they should have her done today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it just needs the high pressure fuel pump and not the low pressure one as well. The boat was sitting in storage for 7 years, so the fuel gummed up the fuel pumps. Also my neighbor is selling his 2003 skeeter zx250, 21 foot, 101lb 36 volt minn Kota, lowrance electronics, jack plate, Yamaha 250, so if you know anyone looking hes got a good price on it.
  19. I'm interested to see what the temps are at Pleasanton east and west. Lacygne was horrible last week. Probably 50 boats and no one was catching anything. The stacks weren't producing and the water temps were warmer in the river than right by the outlet.
  20. I have a suggestion for the eating afterwards. A good friend of mine owns the Heidi Inn restaurant about 10 mins from the lake near Lebo.Iif we don't want to mess with who brings this or that we could go there. I could have them put a huge table together, it would probably take up the whole place lol.
  21. I'm down for whatever. I will have my new boat Monday. I am going to hang on to the old one for the heavy timber lakes.
  22. Thought some people would like to read this. Hope the link works. http://www.kansascity.com/2013/03/16/4124185/2013-fishing-outlook-for-missouri.html
  23. I can be a boater if need be, but would prefer to fish with my partner in crime. I plan on having the new boat by tourney time, I have already committed to buying it, he gave me two months to get down there and get it. The old boat shouldn't be hard to fix, just not getting fire to the plugs. I haven't decided if I will sell it or not. If I do sell it I have to give first shots to those who helped me find the boat originally and to HiSalenity who has bugged me to sell it to him since I bought it. Also I would like to add that there be a "Dink Award" that goes to the smallest dink caught, as I plan to definitely win this. Believe it or not that is a Smallie in my profile pic caught in the last Razor Clam Classic on the Ned rig.
  24. I'm in. I will bring fish cookies again. Looks like Melvern. I will be fishing with Curt.
