  1. Does anyone know where they sell micro guides indivdually, because on my skeet reese rod the tip guide keep falling out and i want to replace with a higher quality micro guide. Can some one link me a site where they have them. -thanks!
  2. I own the 7'6" med heavy "fast taper" and the tip is too soft imo, not good for deep jigging, etc. great for pitching docks and flipping in weeds.
  3. I forgot about Crucial, hands down the best over all for 150$
  4. Dobyns Savvy!!!!!... duckett tips are too soft for bottom contact(jigs texas rigs, carolina) but theyre good for flipping cranking, etc(everything else).. anyways... i have an avid and i dont really like it, my dobyns savvy is more sensitive
  5. Micro guides are beneficial on casting rods, and also spinning rods if matched correctly, I just casting a micro spinning rod today it was very light and casted well with the specific spinning reel that was applied on the rod, it's is all about how you match them.
  6. Oh I understand what your sayiung lol, yeah its kinda hard to get all 3 through on some smaller eyes but i make it work!, strong knot too, forgot what its called.
  7. I found a new knot online and it were you go through the eye 3 times then wrap the main line 6 times, then proceed to put the tag end through the 3 loops that you put through the eye, its very easy to tie and very strong, more so than the palomar IMO also stronger in knot wars.
  8. Put shimano crucials, or duckett on all of them, and choose size and action according to what you're going to be using it for. Shimano crucial rods balance out well with their reels so I would suggest that, I like me crucial and duckett about the same. Go into the store and feel the rods and see what you really like the action of.
  9. I have never had a micro spinning rod, but on my casting rods, it truely does lighten it up majorly, and that's also what im looking for in my spinning tackle. It will make a 150$ rod feel as light as a 400$ rod with traditional guides, and lightness is a big aspect to look at imo. But if it decreases casting ability on a spinning outfit, the hell with that.
  10. Abu is,made in korea which is a division of pure fishing
  11. Yeah, well then again im 16 and don't have a job. Lol. Wish I did so I could expand my arsenal
  12. I have the PG and it's fine, I also "heard" that they fixed that problem summer of 2011. I've also made the decision that I'm going to pair it up with a Curado 200e7.
  13. Carbon Lite rods-lightest rod I have ever held, I know it sounds crazy because theyre only $100, and yes pure fishing does make their reels I was speaking with a store manager, he told me, and also the johnny morris and carbon lite BPS reels are excellent.
  14. Hooligan got 8, I thought I was nuts for having 6 curados
  15. I felt a dobyns savvy at a tackle store in Benton, KY and it felt like a $300 rod so light and pristine, It's a toss-up IMO between the duckett and a dobyns. We'll see what I get(I currently don't have the money now anways), so it could change but probably going to choose a dobyns savvy micro
  16. http://www.***.com/E21_21_Carrot_Gold_Stix_Casting_Rods/descpage-E21GCC.html thats the rod i bought in 8' X X heavy action, carrots are known to have stiffer actions, but I'm hoping its not to stiff to punch with. Should work well with the a-rig and larger swimbaits(huddlestons, etc). And going to pair with my new revo or a curado.
  17. Revo clutches are tuff I was thinking of a Curado 300 but i also need it for punching. I hope the premier lasts
  18. Try drop shotted live minnows;)!
