  1. HA HA Oh Boy!!!! This thread is getting locked if some Bama fans read that!!! Mike
  2. A couple of thoughts for you: I just came in from being outside catching softball with my 10 yr old daughter, beats going fishing everytime. My 5 yr old son crawled up in the recliner and watched some TV with me, better than catching a 5 lbser. With that being said, and this is only for me not to offend anyone, I can't understand getting married if you are not going to have kids. This quote isn't mine, can't remember the author, but it goes something like; Don't marry the women you can live with, marry the women you can't live without. Mike
  3. I have some clear ringworms that I save for very clear water like a strip mine lake. I use light ringworms that are a motor oil color that I use in water that is relatively clear. Mike
  4. I think Hatrix is the first person I have ever heard say casting tackle is easier in tight spots??? I can't figure out how. Mike
  5. I've never had any issues with Eagle Claw hooks??? Mike
  6. I generally stay away from cranks. There is usually too much weedy slop that gets fouled in the hooks. But basically what the others have said. I have no idea how bigbill cariies five or six rods and two split roof tackleboxes and fishes from shore??? I use an old turkey hunting vest with big pockets and can carry four or five of the 9X14 plano boxes, just a tip. Mike
  7. Buy her whatever she wants and be safe. Mike
  8. I have been watching my daughter's teams for the past four years now and it is really cool seeing the girl's improve as they get older. It will never replace football or baseball (which I played) or hockey, but I do add it to the list. I dig the madness of the fans. Kinda like Steelers v. Raiders in the 70's. If you are in Alabama is it Roll Tide or War Eagle for ya'? Mike
  9. Good stuff RNF, I actually have become somewhat of a soccer fan since my daughter started playing. I don't follow any specific team, but I do enjoy watching from time to time. My respect for soccer has definitely grown. Mike
  10. Another vote for the Fiskars Kid Scissors, they even have a cap that the scissors slide into, you can put them in your pocket. Mike
  11. Thank you FishinDaddy, you made my point. It is 99% knowledge gained through experience. You don't have to run a 4.3 40, be able to tell the difference between a curve and a fastball or skate better than you can walk. There is nothing that they do physically that you can't do. Sorry there are too many shapes and sizes and ages that are succesful to say it is physical talent. Mike
  12. It's not even close to being the same thing as boxing. That is comparing apples to bananas. The equipment is not the limiting factor. The knowledge of the waters and the experience of being in similiar scenarios is the seperating factors. Mike
  13. I travel and am very impatient with people who joke with the TSA. This is their job. I would not like people joking with my work either. Their are many opportunities to make jokes in life, going through airport security is not one of those times. Mike
  14. Now obviously I am a Steeler fan. Wondering what in the world "Raider Nation" is thinking discussing soccer? Has it really gotten that bad for the Siver and Black? Just kidding of course. Mike
  15. Read the manual, then read the manual again. Mike
  16. I'd like to see JFrancho's and DVT's opinions on this topic. Mike
  17. I honestly don't mean any disrespect with this, but they aren't Supermen. Just look at the results of the FLW Tournament in Pittsburgh. I am by no means saying I could compete with them or any tournament fisherman right now. But, they are not hitting a 95 mph fastball or something that can only be physically accomplished by a gifted few. I think you have to have many things on your side to be a pro besides being able to catch fish.
  18. All things being equal, a willowleaf will run deeper, while the more rounded blades will "thump" more and run shallower. I would not use a spinnerbait without a ball bearing swivel. Mike
  19. I like mono for buzzbaits. I think the braid would be too quick if you know what I mean. Plus if I'm throwing over wood, I think braid digs into the wood. Since the line should not be in the water when retrieving a buzzbait, I would go as heavy as you want. I would start at 17 lbs and go up from there, whatever you feel comfortable casting. Mike
  20. Very cool, awesome reel, awesome deal. Mike
  21. I'm with you, Rooster Tails ROCK!!! Mike
  22. LgMouthGambler you need to add a Calcutta or two. Mike
  23. I rarely beat a spot to death for hours trying to get a bite. I guess it depends on the size of the cover and the availability of other spots to fish. I will usually try to make a few different presentations maybe from different angles. If this doesn't work I move on. Mike
  24. If you could say whether you wanted fiberglass, or aluminum, a 16,17,18,19 footer, what horsepower, it is hard to give a price on an unknown boat. Mike
