  1. Ill be the first to say i prefer the older core 50/aldebaran mg7 platform. Feels more solid in hand and at 5.5oz definitely balances better on longer rods. The two things that i did like about the new aldebaran was the added x-ship, and the slightly lighter spool. Another thing i didnt like was the nosepiece would shift side to side and flex.
  2. Once you put a pair of hedgehog air or zpi spool bearings in you'll never go back. It especially helps with finesse baits and pitching baits.
  3. Pretty sure the volkey bfs models have k micros. The full size fuji's should be comaparable to the guides on most older shimano & daiwa rods. I dont mind as much on frog or swimbait rods, but for jig/finesse purposes i love me some k micros. Definitely help balance the rod out a bit.
  4. No bfs models and full size fuji's so ill be holding off. It will be between these, the new daiwa tatula, or new *** for a frog rod and small swimbait stick.
  5. Perfect match for the X7
  6. I think it's daiwa/mb's best finesse reel. Looks awesome, love the 6:8 gear ratio, and plenty of spool options. Will most likely be adding purple sv spools to this and the IS
  7. Same reelseat, its looking like a usdm hyuga... Either way, sounds good to me at $199. The new 13 omens were going to be my kayak beater rods but i might go levante instead
  8. I bought my poison Ultima from Japan lure shop. Came in 3 days through FedEx air. It's very expensive when you add shipping and customs fees. Best bet is buying 2 piece rods, they ship ems and its usually $20
  9. Tim is close, lol Mb x7 super criffhanger, Mb IS71, hedgehog air bearings, MB carbon knobs with zpi bearings, and IS finesse spool.
  10. Little Megabass bfs action...
  11. Ive always leaned towards high end tuned reels with mid level rods (cumulus & cumaras) Id say my first high end rod was the Jackall poison glorious, once i fished it, it was all over, lol. Gotta have both now...
  12. lol, im just as confused as you are why this thread is still alive...
  13. Check out the "Show off your stuff" thread, lots of guys into customizing their gear.
  14. I do the same, its all about that thumb.
  15. The real winners in the megabass world have been the righties. Ive seen so many classics on ebay and all the jdm vendors at awesome prices. Us lefties have to really jump when we find something !!
  16. Nice, i tried to grab another IS71 but they ran out, grabbed an fx68 just to try one. Couldnt pass up those prices !!
  17. Little megabass action...
  18. My all time favorite will always be the Conquest 51 shallow special. One of the coolest reels ever made. My ktf bfs xg and yumeya spool alde mg7 are also favorites. Ive been messing around with more daiwas & megabass reels lately, but the shimano 50 series reels are the best palming reels ever made !!
  19. I dont use spinning reels anymore, but if i ever decide to it will definitely be a stella. I was fortunate to have a stella 1000fe and its an amazing reel. The ci4+ will take care of business, but the stella will keep you grinning all day long
