  1. Mine came in the mail yesterday as well. 1/0 EWG's and the sticker. Very cool of Trokar. I will figure out a good use for the 1/0's and give em a go in a few weeks.
  2. 4 lber on a Craw. I'm hoping to increase that in a few weeks on Okeechobee!
  3. Right on. That, in firetiger always producded for me around dusk. I should find some more of those....
  4. Thanks my friend, appreciate the tip!
  5. That Rage craw with a weighted hook was deadly for me about 2 weeks ago down here as well RW. That is quickly becoming a super confidence bait for me.
  6. I've driven near Boynton canal more than a few times. Does anyone know a good place to drop a small trolling motor rigged jon in?
  7. I "re-learned" how to fish on small ponds, from the bank, with spinning reels with 8-10 lb line max. Small in-line spinners and t-rigged soft plastics on a 3/0 EWG should result in some tight lines pretty quickly!
  8. He hit the nail right on the head. I read it this morning actually and it left me thinking for a few. I hope more people learn to take his advice!
  9. Amen to that one. I had a trap come flying back while trying to get it loose, left a little dent mark on the side of my sunglasses. Scariest moment fishing without a doubt. Not only do I now always remember to keep on the sunglasses, even if I think I don't need them, but I've worked on better ways of getting unstuck!
  10. Thanks for the links buddy!
  11. Soft plastics are good to use every day you're on the water in my book. The senko's have been recommended, and I agree! They have become almost must have for many bass anglers. I'd also throw in Rage Craws. My confidence is growing in those bad boys daily. Texas rigged or jig trailer, it's an amazing bait. Just grab some plastics of any variety though and experiement. There is almost no wrong way!
  12. Took the jon out on the local lake today, caught 10 in about 4 hours or so. Started off windy and clear, then the clouds rolled in for a while before clearing up, finally got chased out by lightning. Caught 'em on senkos, ocho's and t-rigged rage craws (weighted hooks). Tried using a red eye shad to locate, wasn't happening. They were scattered around docks or holding tight to any type of cover available. Saw some empty beds, no big momma's. Biggest catch of the day was 3.5 - 4 lbs.
  13. Good to know, thanks Sirsnook!
  14. Thank you sir!
  15. Looking forward to a nice outing tomorrow. I certainly won't complain with couple 3-5#ers!
  16. Now she's a beaut! Nice one! just picked up a new pack of rage craws for this weekend, can't wait!
  17. Thanks DRhodes!
  18. Overall for me it would be figuring out patterns, and technique wise would be the jig as well. I think I'm going to have to take the idea of going out one morning with nothing but a few jigs and just really force myself to practice and gain at least a bit of confidence.
  19. Senko, Ocho (downright deadly in the town lake) and the space monkey. I've had my best space monkey success in narrow canals.
  20. Plastics - watermelon red or pumpkin with black flakes Cranks - firetiger or sexy shad Jig - brown
  21. I echo what a lot of guys have already stated..just feels more comfortable holding the rod in my right hand and reeling with the left. Growing up whenever I went out it was with a spinning reel, and the first time I picked up a right handed casting reel, it didn't "feel right". Switched over to a left handed and haven't looked back.
  22. Thanks guys.
  23. Agreed. I tried to check out Zona a few times, and it's more look at this look at this than any kind of good information. The Bass Pro's was the best, but I haven't seen it in a while.
  24. Finally able to sign up! I've read this forum and website faithfully for a few years, but when I tried to sign up in the past I wasn't able too because of what I believe were some email rules. I gave it a shot again and it was allowed, so I'm very happy to be here surrounded with some of the smartest bass addicts on the net. Seriously, thank you all so much, I've read tips and tricks from so many of you, I hope I can pay it forward by helping others out along the way. Little bit about my fishing background, started getting really into it about 3 years ago, and I've been hooked ever since (no pun intended!). I started 100% on the bank, over time I've been lucky to have a close family friend lend me a nice jon that I take out on local small waters, and go out from time to time to "chobee on his rig. As far as my fishing style, it's a bit erratic, but I'm most confident with a simple t-rigged worm dragged slowly. I love to experiment though with all different kinds of lures, success or fail. Even though I've been fishing for a while and have had some good days, I'm still far from where I hope to be (I think most of us are), and I am a knowledge junkie! I look forward to learning even more here, and finally being able to add some of my input, or directly ask questions. Besides fishing, I've been falling hard into the archery spell, so any shooters/hunters out there, I also hope to connect with you all as well. Tight lines fellas!
