  1. Thanks, sorry to confuse y'all, I usually try to word my post better but been stuck on iPod with small screen
  2. on the featured fall article it talks about creeks running into flats, were the bass push the shad back.. ok, so is this right in Duh language. is the creeks the deep coves that open up to a wide area. sorry to sound dumb but in my lake there is only 2 areas were kinda like this, they are long far back coves, with concrete dams in the back filtering water down from a large pond above. Just a bit confused.
  3. Not being a smartass, practice makes perfect. Walking gets easy after time
  4. Keep it shakey heading is my fav way for plastics
  5. well after class, i had some fun in the tub.. the shakey head jig hook is always the owner ultra shake hook. first up was the trick worm.. welp it was like the lottery. my june bugs and pumpkins all floated like pros.. maybe only 2 out of the green pumpkin did a dang. the next was a powebait cury tail, nope not good. Next.. was the devil spear, most were good. then the zoom shakey worm.. IT was a dedicated shakey worm, it sucked...worst ones and they were a shakey worm. next was academys hot deal, the Havoc bottem hoper, great. Last was the powebait shakey worm, pretty much the same as bottem hoper, just re-packaged. It worked great.. I did try th E squared heads, pretty good. My brother broke my verdict so i am in the the market.. was looking at the allstar, but heard more bad than good. was thinking a 7'4 spinning, i figured the longer rod would help me control the shake better. so Sorry if this has been done before, but your favorite shakey worm and setup.. also why you like casting over spinning if you use BC.
  6. if we would go or when i go, id hire a guide,
  7. All I gotta say is congrats. At least I know we're my next vacation will be.. A 3 lb is pretty nice in my lake. I have seem 6 pictures of bass seven lbs and up but that has been over a 10 year span lol
  8. 6'8 MHXF sellus shimono carbonlite bps 6:4.1 15 mono at moment. braid my see its ways soon, but i fish light wire swimjigs on it too, so braid my straighten hook
  9. is it that easy, lol if you have some knowledge of bass fishing. a few "net" buddies live there or vaction there all the time. punching/pitchin/flippin/frog/lipess ripped. That is all i hear. I mean is it, fishing stories when you here people say yep, 3 is small, 6 is right. I know ish blew the doors down with his catch. I somtimes notice members who live in Florida, there personal best is always close to 8-11 lbs. (no i havent looked at all, lol) I just gotta know.. I seen some pics, but if you get on the right spot, is it really toad heaven?
  10. spot on, my aunt used to live on lake. during day it was paradise island, lol at night we attached a light about 3 feed above water on a pole, some panfish would literally jump at insects. At first we though them occasionaly hitting the light would kill em. didnt seem to stop em.. then we would stand on shore, throw any topwater we had to the end of dock and speed it up along side of it, boom everytime... buzzes, jitterbug, poppers, spooks, frogs, somtimes nice sized bass to. before I knew what shakey heads were called. we would rig ribbin tailed worms on jig heads, and pretty much pop them off bottem directly under light.. guess thats why i love shakies now, somtimes we would jig small grubs, for gills then catfish with them sorry to go OT, the quoted just brought back memories... of a much less stressed teenaged summer
  11. i have the premier 7MHm and while it is not lke driving a caddy, if handles DT16s pretty good, though i would like to get a 7'10 glass/graphite mix.. on spinnerbaits not sure, i want a fast or XF tip for all my 1 "hooked" lures.. not sure if that is just my preferance or backed up by anythng though.
  12. hey good thread.. I broke my shakey rod, and was looking at there light worm rod.. allstar seems to be academys flahship more than there own ethos.. so i would love to here imput aswell
  13. so the hot deal of the week is the revo sx hs, I been wanting a BC setup for T rigs. So I call asking if they have any in stock, guy says yes, so I got over there, Nope none in stock, but the guy at the fishing counter told me he picked a bunch up... umm ok.. on the fence about that, guess if i worked there, id be happy to swipe them for that plus there employee discount. So he says, order it online, ship it to store for free. I go online apprently they dont do that for my store, I go back to day and tell the manager, he says buy the reel and i will give you 15.00 store credit. shipping was like 5.00.. So i asked if just bring my label in he would do it. He said nope, he would take if off my purchase today.. I said ok.. He said he seen me in there before playing with them before they went on sale.. I just got home and ordered it.. To me that was a class act, shipping only 5, gave me 15.00 credit without even knowing if I would order the reel or not.. he bs'ed with me a bit and left. Made me feel like the customer was special, lol The question being, do they mach online prices from other places like TW, just not a fan of ordering from the net, unless it is a heck of a deal
  14. ish and the Tak, the 2004 BM classic winner, hardly ever here about them, ish is a good fisherman, whatched that scott martin chalenge and he was a frogging away
  15. he said they were old, but yea 3 in a weekend even if all old that is beyond quirky.. i would croak roll over and croak again and pull an IKE that ike has never seen himself, if I broke 3 rods in one outing. poor kids across the lake woudl be asking,,,,, mommy what %$%$ word mean lol
  16. padcrashers good cheap frogs, my least fav to walk, I can but these take a bit more effort, lol Iobee all the way. i have seen times it makes a differance in way you do frog.. in a few places i fish, it is like night and day, after a few casts with walking, i switch it to bobbing.
  17. Heck that 90 is 40 off whaty place had it for, I think they match. Thanks
  18. welp.. let my brother use my verdict(shakeyhead rod) for a pond. it at least made its way back to me, in 2 pieces.. so the new Academy opened today, i have an old all star rod, american made, my pitchen stick, great rod. I have never noticed them again untill Academy, they seem outside of the ethos, there main rod they sell, They have like 7 difrant models. I am seriously liking them. I was thinking of getting there Lite worm rod.. I really like it, believe it is in the AS micro models. This will be my shakey rod. my second question is on a rod i have made my mind getting but one small obsticale is holding me back, it is the quantium smoke 6'3 spinning rod, plan on using for skipping and small grubs. My reason for holding back is I havnt really heard much on there rods.. I love the smoke reel.. any of you guys got em. was really wanting to get these local instead of the net, unless it is an extreamly good deal
  19. wait a Chronarch, on a Abu, you mean a Chronarch on a compre or crucial, lol

  21. alright, thanks, i may pick me up a couple
  22. all i hear is this fat ika bait,, apprently i am missing out and need to purchase some
  23. Our Acadamey is opennig in 3 days. I know h20 sells their house brand hard swimbaits. They have a gill pattern that i know will slay bass in my neck.. I have a 6'6 spinning for small swimbaits like swimmin flukes and skinny dippers, but i figure these need more umph in the rod. Will my crankbait rod work? i beleive these are only 1/2 oz baits. I highly doub these will become my main stay for fishing so it wouldnt serve me to buy a rod for this. thanks
