  1. i have a 6.4 i use for a lil bit of everything but mainly cranking and big 10 in worms at night, it feels good to me, it not the lightest, the next best bps reel is the pro qualifer and it is lighter, i fish mainly from the shore too, i have fished it all day pond hoping and never really got tired doning it, i mean i have a few high end reels and the feel better but in the end, unless it is one of my catfish reels, all reels feel fine to me. so all that to say i think you will be extemely happy with your purchase. IF you havnt purchesed it yet, another descent combo is the bps PQ and a shimano sellus, probably run you 160.. either way extreme is a nice to me.
  2. dont know about rod, but extreme reel is great, i have about a 2 year old one, and can cast the lightes stuff, i can get booyah micro magic stuff and quarter ounce swimjigs a mile. one of my favorite cheaper reels
  3. thanks, i can fish them with confidence now, so when i miss another i cant blame the bait lol
  4. finally pulled out some chatter baits this evening, Both of my booyah chatterbaits had a real bendable hook, one almost to the point, I thought i was gonna snap it, Is this how the booyahs are made? or did a get a crap lot. Second question is who makes a good chatterbait, i have had Zman before and both times i bought them, there hooks were dull as a butter knife.
  5. thanks i think i will got with the normal bocoo, i dont like the mirco guides on spinning, it is moderatly priced and well falcon hasnt let me down.
  6. thanks guys, i think i will stick to another falcon rod, but still keep em comming
  7. though i fish shore and walk long ways i usally dont like to retie, ohwell
  8. i have been using my wacky rod for shakeys and weightless, it is a 7M falcon HD, lately i have been killing them on wacky and shakey, if I aint hitting them on wacky, then it is shakey, Instead of tying back and forth, I am planing on getting a setup just for shakeys. So in your opnion, would you get a 6'6 rod for more controling of the bait or a a 7-7'2 with a fast tip to have a better bounce of the bait.
  9. I like my beavers kinky and sweat... now on to the baits,, i am a creature man but at this moment it has been RI, and D-bombs.. pit boss and the yums are close seconds
  10. I don't understand this is crazy, mine has nothing, is the sale not promoted and it is all ending it .97, i was there twice and beside a few trigger x and a few rapalas, the one in the shiny blue box with jap writing, heck most of the lures are bigger than the past 3 fish i caught
  11. Dang, guys thanks sooooo much, hopefuly i can get out this weekend
  12. alright thanks for the tips guys, see i know football and "pitchen" can represent crawls, just thought since you "swim" the swim jigs, they had to be a bait fish type trailers
  13. new to swim jigs, so i picked up some today, the trailers i got for em was the netbait kicken chunk and the zoom bigger sized grub. will this work, I figured the swim jig will emitate a bait fish, so maybe a fluke trailer, or heck will any pitchin jig trailer work. I did put a pit boss on the back of one and it seemed too bulky.
  14. thank god this didnt turn into a Shimano is better than all thread. not brand loyal, DIawa rods, reels, shimano rods/reels, croix, Abu, bps, seen a few people with veritas/skeet.carrot in there boats, looks like a rainbow dont foget okuma or falcon , they make some awesome stuff
  15. just got me one, very nice
  16. they do get quite addicting, and yea even fishing on the shore, each trip costs about 15 bucks, i always loose a T-rig and a few jigs.. just facts of life.
  17. hottie, not to be rude, but i got a few pro and kvds just to test, both yellow both have rattles,
  18. was at the tackle store picking up some black back chart. SO i noticed somthing, is there a differance in these.. I saw the same color, in the pro model, the kvd model then the tourney model(they had a black box instead of yeallow. they did look to have better hooks) outside of the name is there a real changer differance, To top it off, they all had diff prices and they were the same color
  19. good read and advice thanks, marty
  20. thanks to you both, i have both of the above mention, so i may let him take my stash of cranks with him
  21. going tomor morning, my bro has some colors he thinks is good, the catch he only has the silent versions. they are kvd 1.5s.. So question, is there some way to know that silents are gonna be good(over the rattled version) before getting on water, we shore fish, and just wanted to know without tieing on a bunch. Have no problem on the re-tie, but just wanted to know ps. Stained water, not sure depth, but lots of tree laydowns and alot of submerge trees with just tips out.
  22. iobee, spro popper, booyah, and Live Target, all good frog, i get so wrapped up in Iobee and a spro popper, i hardly ever move on to my other frog
  23. there pretty nice for 30, i bought one for a cheap spinnerbait/swim jig rod.
  24. yea i love, outside of a trick worm, the power shakey is the best
  25. it seems to me that ribbon tail worms are used less today, for some reason, but i always carry pumpkin and tequella sunrise
