  1. Thanks guys, never went below 14, lol always using braid or Fluro leaders. Thanks
  2. As I am liking jerk baits more, want to set me up small combo, fishing from shore so don't really want to use floro, so as topic says will 10 lb mono work, reel us just an ole h20 mettle
  3. welp if today counts.... 1x croix premeir cranking rod, 1x 6'10 crucial, a bps PQ, a few river2sea frogs, red eyes shads, 3xds, and a shad rap.
  4. I love my croix MHz premier, can cast 1/4 all the way to 10 ft divers
  5. Unless gamma on sale at Wally, h20 is all I use
  6. def, not a one brand man but I love my chronarch, I am biding on several 50e, so yea stop bidding against me lol
  7. when I get a chance to go on the family toon or or with friends it is 8-10 rods but yea on shore, 4 max, so I guess when I fish the shore i like rods the have mulitple uses, thus my 6'10 I try to tak 3 usefull, in all situation type rods then the 4th is dealers choice, usally a frog or buzzbait. idk fun topic I wanted to see opnions on
  8. yes my reason exactly, I need 2 frog rods, because of the smaller and larger size. that justifies it
  9. idk if bait monkey has got me or I just like hoarding different rods or maybe I need them . but I notice I have 2x T-rigging rods, 2x crankbait rods and want a second frog rod. anyone else like this. I mean I have a 6'10 for smaller worms and dragging jig, but I also have the 7'2 or 7'3(cant remember) *** for bigger T rigs, 7" worms and more. I have a all star M rod for traps and smaller cranks, but have a MH veratas winch for up to Dt10 or cranks up to 10 ft. I have my custom made frog rod but the 7'4 legend ad the tatula rods are calling me. Then I have a 6' and 7'1 spinnerbait rod. all of them do have valid uses. anyone else like me, have 2 rods for almost same application.. just a fun thread I guess
  10. thank guys.. I am drooling i should of paid the 20 to over night since I got it so cheap, tracking says Monday so idk
  11. if you have to have the slop frog, save money and tie braid to a broom. that is still to gunky even if your fish in a kudzu filled forest . if heavy cover a MH abu rod or if sparse and open a nice 7'2 MH compre and up rod.
  12. the wait is the killer part, before this front came in, my local forum was talking about killing them on the banks. though I think the 8 gear at 34 IPT may be a big for T-rigs. I have my pitching stick so balanced though; I may end up switching reels though
  13. he is shipping to me, trust me got the *** black 7'2 waiting on it :) cant WAIT
  14. the warm days in NC has got that itch, though plenty of guys fish it all year I usually start in March. Friend in financial problems sells me his new not out of box yet Tatula Type R 8 gear ration RH reel for a 100.00 I like daiwa as I have a Lexa 300 but whats your opinion on the T wing stuff. I was talking to a dude in a isle at bps and he was saying your have to line it over the wing what ever that means. ohwell glad to be back and hope this reel is worth the bill I paid
  15. even if a slow retrieve, it is good to stop, and pop rod up a bit to give some erratic action, that is what I did, and lol about shad hitting trees
  16. Yea I agree with above, we was using dt6 and bandits in 8 foot of water casting to shore.
  17. haha, my other hobby is aquariums and I have a big old momma Jag, funny how all my SA/CA cichs I keep are game fish yall
  18. ok, All you see is deflecting, deflecting, just wondered if this was a method, thanks, I threw them all day, hung up 5 times, lure knocker saved them all. I finally figured out, reel slow, if you feel a bump, stop a sec, then RIP
  19. you always hear people bouncing them and deflecting them off wood. Today, me and buddy hit water in a boat, all of my fish came off of just casting and reeling in. I thought this was a fluke but the pattern of the day played out that way, my partner landed all his the same way. We came through some knarly wood, no bass, but cast to shore and reel back. BOOM
  20. ok I see a 30 buck one, musta jacked price up then. so tech is a 30 some buck reel
  21. I will today, though they hooks are not advertised online for that class, maybe it is that store only, which sux, but I will try
  22. I usally use the MH, if ya got an abu or Croix H, its like throwing a boat oar. though I have a 8' daiwa stick, very nice and limber, good rod.
  23. and that's messed up, they wont price match, though our academy has there brand frogs for 1.99 or 2.99 a lot and there yellow spro frogs are always on clearance, only the yellow color for some reason.
  24. is that how much you paid, or how much it cost to make, I don't see anything that price on amazon
  25. some academy are diff, the academy in concord, has there inshore rods for 50, at my local one they are 60, I asked why and they guy said depends on demand. I think that is BS. I may go and whine to manager tomorrow
