  1. I agree snook. The apps and such can help some, bit the fish aren't locked into those factors. Bottom line is true, just fish. :-)
  2. He's sporting that PFD baby!!!
  3. Ok cool. So do you leave the reel engaged or locked? On rivermonsters he leaves it free. But then again he is getting humongous fish. :-)
  4. I've tried keeping a finger on the line when the lure is on or near the bottom too. What should I be looking for with that?
  5. Anybody hear any updates? I checked on BASS but still the same original story.
  6. I saw on a BASS video where you can use a spinnerbait as a jig style for suspended bass. Nice one!
  7. Jerk baits are good like you said. I had good luck with the chrome top and orange bottom on the sunny days. I can cover plenty of water with a slower retrieve.
  8. If you do a slow or a fast retrieve they always seem to start popping out of the water when they get near the boat! I am using a fluro line 12 pounds. It seems Rapala had a good idea but maybe too much action. What help do you all have? I caught my biggest on one but the bass I think thought it was a top water lol
  9. The only thing I found that impacts the fishing would be the muddy waters after the rain. A super clear pond near us turned about red brown after a 24 hour rain spell.
  10. My favorite spinnerbait time is windy weather. Seems that white is the go to color for the cloudy days.
  11. His bigger was 14.6. He has a you tube video on that too.
  12. Semi slack is the slackest I'll go. I can't do full slack. Even on drop shots and top water. Just feel better knowing I have some control. I watch the fish take the line only for a second or two then set the hook.
  13. Tomorrow night at 9pm starts Monster Week on Aninal Planet. Looks pretty good for the week.
  14. LOL! Inner tube. Not tube lures. I thought the same. That's a good laugh right there. In any event, yeah, wind is a pain in my kayak too. :-)
  15. Dead sticking and walking the entire perimeter. The best thing sometimes is to get full coverage of the area. I have some big ponds here in NC that if I don't take the kayak, I make certain to walk the whole body of water as well. ;-)
  16. I really need to start using Senkos. :-)
  17. IMO I can't see how the batteries by themselves could've caused it. Not saying impossible, but not likely to me. Those batteries should have been QC'd a bunch beforehand in production.
  18. When I first started fishing a few years ago. I took the wife and daughter on my canoe to "show off" my newfound skills. So I tied on a $10 buzz bait and threw it (in the beginning of January in NC). I didn't know squat about know tying so I did a double overhand knot. Casted out and "ping", lure flew off and sink to the bottom. :-(
  19. Let's make it simple. Just start a conversation with yourself and sometimes answer back. :-)
  20. My friend says I'm "famous" for catching fish on swim baits in all conditions. Do I count????? ;-)
  21. Blow ups are the bomb!!!!! Literally lol ! I cast and once the lure hits the top water, my heart rate goes up as I twitch and pause, twitch and pause the lure. Waiting for the badda booom!!
  22. Today was even better than before the cool night! It was twice the top water action. :-)
  23. Done that a time or to. As soon as I cut the line, the lure falls to the floor of the boat lol.
